"Who are you really?" Amarok asked, intrigued. Graham's eyes sparkled as he saw Amarok interested. "Listen carefully, little boy," he said with a smile. "Several years ago, there was a huge battle that exploded. The enemy had entered Elysium from the north," Graham explained, a Rune appearing before him. Amarok smiled in amazement as the void shifted. He stared at Graham in shock; he had not seen him draw anything with his hand. It was a given that anyone who wanted to use magic needed to connect both the physical world and the magic of the Rune world by drawing the runes in the void. That was what he had learned with Neo. It was impossible to use runes otherwise. They looked like they were on a battlefield. The war drums rang. Blood flooded. Swords clashed. "Elysium had already lost half of its troops; everything seemed lost for us." They could see the Elysium soldiers dressed in shining golden armors, their opponents wearing dazzling white armor. The battle was fierce. No fancy move or useless move could be seen. Simply strike to kill, that was the motto. "Like the stars had predicted, she appeared," Graham said with nostalgia. A girl stood at the forefront of the army. The soldiers were dispirited and frustrated. There was no chance of victory at all. The enemy outnumbered us ten to one. "She ignited the charge, using runes that no one had ever seen or heard about. She fought her way through the battlefield and slew one of the enemy generals. It was a sight to behold." One could see a kaleidoscope of Runes flashing. Amarok could barely understand what he was seeing. That was the history of Elysium; he knew about this story. "I already know about all of this. It's the legendary battle of the Northern Pillars," Amarok said. "What the history books don't tell you is Elara was not alone. I was there too, and I had to use dominance to lead the troops through the battlefield. Together we defeated the Northern Pillars," Graham said, and the images disappeared, all blown away in white smoke. "You really think I'm going to believe you?" Amarok raised an eyebrow. The legends said, "Elara led the troop to defeat the Northern Pillars. There was nothing like a Graham something." "I don't know why, but I think I'm forgetting something... Haha," suddenly Graham held his head as he fell to his knees. His eyes were wide open. "What's happening? Are you okay, Graham?" Amarok rushed to help him up. Although he didn't particularly like the other party, he could not stay without helping. The moment he touched Graham's body, it illuminated with powerful light. Graham's eyes blinked in shock. On Amarok's forehead, a Rune was drawn. It was dark blood red, giving out an ominous feeling. Graham frowned, slapping his hands away. On Graham, a symbol was on his forearm, different from Amarok's, shimmering with a familiar dreadful aura. They seemed to be resonating. "You're from that clan," he said in a serious voice, holding his head as he returned to the corner and sat. Amarok's eyes sharpened as he stepped back. His heart beat accelerated. He looked at Graham, unsure of what to say. He knew exactly what the other party meant. They sat in silence. Time trickled down, occasionally hearing the purple stones shaking, but the cave was dead silent. After what felt like an eternity, Graham opened his mouth again. "What brings you to the Fig Forest?" he asked with a sigh. His smile was replaced by a bitter one. "We are looking for Gian of the Freud town. His sister asked me and my friends to find him. He was lost in the forest." "I see. Freud is in danger. I have failed them again," Graham held his face as he stared down. "Are you from there?" Amarok asked, although he already knew the answer. "I am from Freud," Graham admitted. "Why is Freud in danger?" "They came for Dominance," he said with a deep sigh. "Dominance is a Rune I created with Elara in her youth. It gives the user the possibility to eradicate fear and doubt from one's mind, but more than that, it can control the soul of even the strongest Rune master or warrior." Amarok gulped down, realizing things were far from simple. If Graham was right, those people were definitely not good. Although it was just fragments of memory he saw through Graham, what Dominance was capable of on the battlefield was alarming. If such a Rune fell into the wrong hands, he didn't even dare to imagine what would happen. "What can we do?" "I don't have much time left. I will teach you how to use the First Order mode. It is derived from Dominance itself. You have barely a week. That should equal three hours in real life if the flow of time had not shifted," Graham said with a serious tone, drawing a Rune in the void. It looked like an hourglass, and as it flipped, shining particles started falling. "I will try my best," Amarok said sincerely. The pressure was mounting, both excited and scared about the First Order mode and the consequences if Dominance fell into evil hands. "Normally, one can use the Rune's energy by drawing runes to connect the city world," Graham said as he stood. "That is fine until you face someone that doesn't give you that opportunity. If you can't draw a Rune, you are as good as useless," he continued. Amarok nodded, understanding the common sense. Preventing a Rune sorcerer from drawing his Rune was the easiest way to defeat them. But it was a complicated and hazardous task. However, if one could achieve that, they could triumph against any Rune sorcerer. "To solve that problem, Elara and I used Dominance to derive a form that allows your entire body to use Rune magic: First Order." His joking attitude shifted. Graham now looked like a dignified Rune master, and even his aura was impressive. Amarok could not yet make a difference in auras, but he knew Graham's was extraordinary.
