Chapter 331

CHAPTER 331

"You made my father hurt my mother, am I right?" Billy stalked toward her like a gust of wind, gripped her neck tightly, and forced her down on the couch. "You wanted to marry my father, so you planted thoughts of him getting rid of my mother so you could replace her, didn't you?"

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Angie was gasping for breath as she struggled furiously. "Billy, what are you doing? Let go of me! I don't understand what you're talking about!"

"You don't understand what I'm talking about?" Billy grabbed her neck and flung her to the ground. "Don't you know that the cops arrested my father? He placed my mother into a coma. How could you not know? It's you! It's all your fault! My father was fine before, but you showed up and seduced him. My mother is now in a coma, and the police have taken my father. You b*tch!"

Billy's anger grew with each word he spat from his lips. Finally, he tugged Angie's hair and yanked her from the ground to slap her harshly across the face.

He had never hit a woman before, but his emotions were out of control at this very moment. Not only did he want to hit her, he felt like killing her with his bare hands.

Angie fell to the ground due to his brutal actions; blood dripped from the corner of her mouth, and her whole body hurt.

As she lay on the ground, she was stunned.

Jeffrey was arrested?

His ex-wife was put into a coma by him?

How is that possible?

She sat on the ground, trembling.

If…

If this is real, what is she supposed to do?

If Jeffrey's ex-wife were really in a coma because of him, he would be imprisoned.

And if he was imprisoned, would she still have a place in the Miller Family?

No! No way would ever happen!

Both Jeffrey's son and daughter despised her. It was Jeffrey's protection that allowed her to enjoy a comfortable life in the Windview Villa.

Once Jeffrey was imprisoned, they would unceremoniously punt her out of the Miller Family.

Where could she go if she was kicked out of the family?

She had nowhere to go but to the Miller Family.

She could still marry Jeffrey before because of her youth and attractiveness, but now that she was legally Jeffrey's wife, who else could she possibly marry?

Furthermore, Jeffrey was fine before marrying her, but misfortune soon befell him immediately after marrying her. So it would only be natural that people would arrive at the conclusion that she brought bad luck.

The wealthier people were, the more superstitious they were. They favored lucky people and intensely disliked those who were down on their luck. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that some would even avoid them like the plague.

She would become a symbol of misfortune in the eyes of the rich, akin to having a ward against the affluent and prominent societal figures. She would never again have the chance to even come in contact with the upper crust of society in this life.

She was about to lose her sanity.

What was God doing?

Did He want to drive her to a tragic end?

She was anxious and frightened as tears flowed down her cheeks. She asked Billy with slight hope, "Was there a mistake? How could your father possibly harm your mother? It had to be a mistake, quickly think of a way to bail your dad out and allow him to explain to you!"

Jeffrey couldn't get imprisoned!

She would only be fine if Jeffrey were innocent.

"Mistake? What mistake? The Hart Family discovered the evidence. How could it be a mistake?" raged Billy. "Furthermore, Dr. Jenson will operate on my mother tomorrow. If the Hart family fabricated evidence, why would they allow Dr. Jenson to operate on my mother? Everything will be revealed when my mom wakes up from her coma!"

"Hart Family? What does it have to do with them?" Angie inquired blankly.

"What does it have to do with them?" Billy sneered as he glanced at her. "Didn't my father attract the Hart Family's attention because he married you? In that regard, I'd like to thank you as well. If it hadn't been for the fact that they held grudges against you and made them despise my father as well, I would still be unaware that my mother was pushed down the stairs by him, and there would be no way to request Dr. Jenson to perform surgery on my mother!"

Angie's eyes widened in disbelief, and she felt shivers running up her spine.

Hart Family…

It was Sebastian and Madeline!

She instantly remembered Madeline's words to her. Do you think you have won? No, Sebastian will definitely not let you go.

Her words came true.

But she didn't believe it that time.

She thought that she had married into the Miller Family and became Jeffrey's wife. What Isabel did had

nothing to do with her, making it unlikely that she would be held accountable for it. Even if she were, she would still be innocent because she only had a casual conversation with Isabel. What could Sebastian possibly do to her?

Angie had also married Jeffrey and had become part of the affluent women. The Hart Family had a good reputation for being moral and upright despite being one of the wealthiest families. Philip never permitted anybody in the family to bully others, and Sebastian was no exception.

She would become a symbol of misfortune in the eyes of the rich, akin to having a ward against the affluent and prominent societal figures. She would never again have the chance to even come in contact with the upper crust of society in this life. She was a stay-at-home wife. All she did was shop, work out, eat, and drink. So what could Sebastian do to her, regardless of his abilities?

Angie took everything for granted, so when Madeline said that to her, she didn't take it seriously and scoffed in derision.

It was only now that she realized Sebastian couldn't do anything to her, but he could definitely do something to Jeffrey.

Additionally, she depended on Jeffrey to survive as if she were a parasite. She would also wither once Jeffrey was done for.

She sagged to the ground, regretting her choices.

If Angie had known that Jeffrey's ex-wife was pushed down the stairs by Jeffrey, she wouldn't have

tried to be cunning and used Isabel to mess with Madeline.

She thought she could stay out of trouble, and everything would be just fine, but she was wrong...

Now what?

Her head dropped as she buried her face in her palms and sobbed quietly.

What had she done wrong?

Why did life play games with her and forbid any means of survival for her?

On the other hand, Billy wanted to murder her but realized that killing someone would cost him his life; he couldn't afford to let that woman ruin the rest of his life.

There were multitudes of ways he could torment her as long as she remained with the living. He could make it so that death was an unattainable dream for as long as he lived.

Not only could he avoid legal responsibility by doing so, but he would also be able to vent the hatred in his heart!

He suddenly raised his voice. "Anyone?!"

"Mr. Miller?" said his bodyguard as he walked in. Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

"Throw her out!" Billy commanded icily.

"Yes, Mr. Miller," the bodyguard replied as he grabbed Angie and dragged her out the door.

"What are you doing, Billy Miller? I'm your stepmother!" Angie shrieked. "What rights do you have to force me out of my home?"

"Who gave you the courage to have me acknowledge you as my stepmother?" Billy's face was as dark as charcoal.

Angie was younger than him, yet she claimed to be his stepmother right in front of him. It was the worst insult he had to bear in his life!

"I am your stepmother!" Angie struggled desperately. "I got a marriage certificate with your father. So legally speaking, I am your stepmother!"

"So? So what if the law legalized your marriage between my father? You can't force me to acknowledge you as my stepmother. In my eyes, you're trash who deserves to be put to death!" With that said, he lashed out at the bodyguard, "Can't you even drag a woman out? Are you weaker than her? Throw her out!"
