CHAPTER 250
It was Queenie's turn to apologize after Jayden was done, and they were leaving after that.
Madeline wanted Sam to stay and have lunch, but Sam refused. "Next time. I have something else to settle today." Madeline persuaded him, and Joel wanted him to stay too, but he left in the end. He was not in the mood to have lunch. He wanted to see Isabel, but first, he sent Queenie and Jayden back to the Shriver Residence before he went to Isabel's place.
Isabel was delighted to see him. She skipped up to him and held his arm lovingly. "You're here, Sam! It's been a while! I've missed you!" She acted like the spoiled child she was.
Sam pulled his arm out and cut to the chase, "Pack your things, Isabel. I'll send you abroad in a couple of days. I've enrolled you into an academy. They'll whip you into shape."
Isabel froze, and she frowned. "Why are you bringing this up again, Sam? We agreed that I would never go abroad. I don't know anyone there. There's no way I can get used to another country!"
"It's a good thing. A lot of people would kill to get this chance. School is good for you," Sam persuaded her. "You're an adult now, Isabel. You can't go on like this. You should pick up a trade and get a job you like once you graduate. Your life will have more meaning that way."
"No!" Isabel held his arm, protesting, "Sam, I know a lot of people would kill to go abroad, but I'm not them! I'm better than them! I'm your sister and the lady of the Taylors! I'm a girl, so I don't have to be as capable as you and Dan are. What I want is to do nothing and enjoy life. You're supporting my lifestyle now, and I'd marry someone just like you so I can keep enjoying life while doing nothing!"
"What are you talking about?" Sam's frown deepened. "Sure, fine. It might be hard to pick up a trade,
but at least learn how to be a better person! Look at you! You hurt Maddie in the first place, but you somehow managed to play the victim and slandered her! Jayden wouldn't have known those insults if you hadn't told Queenie about it. You're the reason the Shrivers are in so much trouble!"
The mention of Madeline enraged Isabel. "Maddie, Maddie, Maddie! Can you stop bringing her up in every conversation? I'm your sister! She's not! She would have died if not for Dan! We fed her, clothed her, and even gave her a place to stay, but she turned on us in the end! She's why Mom is jailed! I hate her!"
"Your mother did that to herself. It's not Maddie's fault," Sam snapped. "Your mother lived on borrowed bliss. She was not good enough to marry Dad in the first place, but she and her father duped Dad into the marriage. Karma caught up to her, and she has to pay the price. Your mother is only doing time for her crime. Maddie has nothing to do with it."
"She has everything to do with it!" Isabel screamed. "She orchestrated the whole thing! Mom would have been fine if she stayed out of it. Dad and Dan wouldn't have booted me out because of this. She's my nemesis. She's nothing but trouble! Dan shouldn't have saved her! She should have died!"
"So that's what you really think of Maddie." Sam looked at her, disappointed. He said with a heavy heart, "I see. Suit yourself. I'll enrol you into the school and pay for your tuition fees and living expenses. You can stay out of school if you want, but I'm taking this villa back. I'll send the servants away too. You can go anywhere you want. You're an adult now. Dad doesn't need to support you anymore, and neither do I. It's your life."
"No! Sam! No!" Isabel panicked. She held Sam's arm tightly and cried. "I-I didn't mean that. I was just too angry. I'm sorry. Please don't get mad at me. I don't want to go overseas. I'm bad at studying! I'll flunk school! I don't even know what I don't know, and I can never get used to a different country. I don't
want to live like that!" holds © this.
She refused to attend school as it was hard work. She had to wake up early just to study. The best food she could have was cafeteria grub, and she had to clean her room herself. She would have no servants tending to her every need, which meant that she had to be independent. Thanks to her mother, she had never stayed in a dorm before, not even in college. Since she had drivers and servants tending to her needs, she had never done any chore before as well. She could never survive overseas on her own. I'm the Taylors' lady. I can live a good life even with just one percent of their inheritance. Why should I suffer in school? I don't wanna!
"This is not a negotiation. This is an announcement." He flung her hand away. "Either you study abroad, or you can go wherever you want. But if you aren't going to school, then you're on your own. I won't help you anymore."
"You can't do that, Sam!" Isabel cried. "I'm your sister. You can't do this to me. The Taylors have a lot of money, right? Just give me some and I can survive. I'm Dad's kid too. I'm a part of the family, so I deserve a part of the inheritance. Please, give my part of the inheritance to me. I can live on that, and you don't have to help me anymore."
"Your part of the inheritance?" Sam laughed mirthlessly. "The inheritance belongs to Dad. He can give it to whoever he wants, and he made it clear he wants to cut all ties with you. He's already kind enough to raise you up. You're no longer our family. You deserve no inheritance."
"No! No!" Isabel shook her head, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I'm his kid! I'm a part of the family. He can't cut his own family off! He's just really mad right now. He'll forgive me!"
"Then wait for his forgiveness," Sam said coldly. "But I'm not in charge of you now. You have three
days. If you still aren't going abroad, then you're packing up and leaving. You can go wherever you want. I don't care." He turned around and left.
"Sam! Don't leave!" Isabel chased after him, still crying.
Sam waved his hand, and his bodyguards stopped Isabel.
Isabel could not even move a muscle. All she could do was watch as Sam got in his car and left. "Sam! Sam!" she screamed hysterically, sobbing and wailing.
