Hey guys, sorry for the late update. I've been getting tired from writing and schoolwork that I needed time to rest a bit and I've been anxiously waiting for a college admission decision from a college that I really want to go to so writing was taking a bit longer. PR credits to Shadow Mouse and I hope you all enjoy this short chapter and please know that I am working on chapter 33.
---------------------
Born from the house of Rammert, Alex Rammert has been in training since a young age.
He has trained with a sword since the tender age of three. Doing swinging exercises as given by his teacher, Arthur. Alex trained day and night, never the thought of him being a child to be an excuse.
His father believed that he could do it as he himself was capable of doing it at a young age. But alas that was not the case, as Alex, just like any other child, would rather run around and do other much more fun things.
At times when he could run away from training, he would be found in the garden of their fortress home, or even out by the river that was just outside. He lived in the western part of the Rigel Kingdom. This is because the Rammert Knight’s headquarters is their home, as the most current danger to the kingdom is the threat of the Lunaria Federation attacking.
With the buffer of the Rammert Knights on their west, the Lunaria Federation would be hasty in deciding on whether to attack or not. This is all due to the wisdom of the current king. And the king was correct in doing so, as the Federation were reluctant and simply attacked under the guise of pirates.
One would wonder why a child such as Alex would later grow up to be as strong and as loyal as he would be. This was because of an attack to their fortress.
Alex was out skipping his training and he was playing in the river. Suddenly, a thunder of greater dragons came. Later this would be known as an attack from the Federation but at the time they merely regarded it as a coincidence. A thunder of dragons, lesser or greater, were not that difficult to find if one was looking in the right places. Since the fortress was way off the beaten path, it had a higher chance of meeting such an occurrence, but it will only be considered as chance.
The castle was fully equipped to handle these dragons and no one was too worried. That is until they found out that Alex was missing. Grant, Alex’s father, ran frantically trying to find his son and there he saw him by the river. Luckily the dragons had seen him yet and he rushed towards his son. As he was doing so a greater dragon landed in front of his only son.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
Feeling fear for his son’s life, Grant rushed forward and his body slowly gained the scales and wings of a dragon. This was his own summoning magic spell, “Manifestation”. While similar to takeover, it only allows portions of all of his summons to appear.
With his new wings, he flew towards the dragon and cut it down with his sword. His son watched his father fly in to save him, from his eyes fear was there but it slowly turned into admiration.
With the greater dragon dead, the rest noticed its death and went to find who killed their friend. Upon seeing this Grant gave himself as many weapons from his own summons as he could. He would punch with his hand but then later it would turn into a giant dragon’s claw punching at a dragon. The speed that the hand had was transferred over to the manifested dragon claw that it cleaved the head of several dragons at once. He kicked and his leg turned into a spiky tail that clipped the wings of dragons surrounding him.
All this Alex saw with his eyes until finally the last dragon died and he was safe. Grant carried his son and said, “You’re safe now.”
Alex did not register his father’s words, all he could think about was how strong his father was. He believed that his father was the strongest in the world.
Alex was not wrong nor was he right. In time he would understand the reason for why his father was considered the leader of the Rammert Knights. The fact that out of all them, those that can use summoning magic are the strongest. For summoners do not fight with magic alone, but also their own bodies. A summoner can equal a whole army in strength but those that have that much power are few and far between.
This day was a turning point for Alex. It was this day that made him powerful, to train his hardest. It was because of this day that he would later be known as the “White Knight”.
