Divorcing 518

Chapter 518 Confrontation

Michael answered quickly, "Just watching a movie."

Chloe was stunned, unable to process it.

She looked back at William and finally noticed the bouquet he was holding.

William wiped his face, hesitated, and then said, "Ms. Nelson, I meant to ask if you'd be my girlfriend today, but it looks like there's been a serious mix-up." Before Chloe could respond, Candy shouted from behind, "Aren't you here to kill Chloe?"

Jessica nodded, adding, "Just be honest. Who sent you?"

William was clearly baffled.

He took a deep breath, set the flowers aside, and straightened up. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Meanwhile, his friends in the front row seemed to realize something was off and made a hasty exit when no one was watching.

Confetti from the party poppers was stuck to William's soaked clothes and face, making him look ridiculous.

Chloe frowned. "I've seen the security footage from the Miller family party. You're the one who pushed me into the pool. Quit the act."

She wondered when William had arranged the flowers, thinking, "Did he know his plan was already blown, which is why he's putting on this show?

But only a few of us knew about it. Who could have leaked the information?"

William looked even more confused. "What party? I don't know anything about that."

He took another deep breath and said, "Ms. Nelson, if you didn't want to accept my proposal, you could have just told me. No need for this kind of humiliation. I'm just a chef and a law-abiding citizen. I'm not into violence." Chloe remained skeptical, unsure whether to trust him.

William glanced at Candy and then surveyed the remaining people in the theater, his face showing a flicker of understanding.

"Honestly, the only things I've ever

handled are fish. I'm impressed

how much effort you've put into rejecting me with such a dramatic

show." tic

He nodded to Chloe. "Sorry for the interruption, Ms. Nelson. I won't bother you again."

As William tried to leave, Michael stepped in his path, pulling out his phone to show the surveillance footage from that day. He held the screen up in front of William's face.

"Nice performance, Mr. Clark. Your acting is top-notch."

Jessica, who had been uncertain, was now livid after seeing the video. She had genuinely thought they had misunderstood William. "Your deceit is on another level."

Such a person was truly terrifying.

"William, I once thought you were a gentleman, even considered you someone I could trust for life. Now, I see how wrong I was!" William was taken aback by Candy's verbal assault.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

"With evidence here, there's no more

room for denial. William, you've caused harm intentionally. You're coming with us to the police station." .

Michael wasn't interested in further debate.

His goal for the day was to deal with William, and since Chloe was unharmed, that was a win.

If William wanted to make excuses, that was up to the police to handle.

"I acknowledge that someone in this video looks just like me, but it isn't me."

Everyone was momentarily stunned.
