We snuck away from the battle, well I wouldn't really call it 'snuck', it's more we walked away while everyone was distracted. It's really not my fault though. They wanted my to join the shadow hunters association. They're just lucky, I would have killed them... if not for the name.
The pure blood vampire however was not a surprise. I have known he was following us since I left the castle. He's good, but not that good. I wonder why Crystal would send a vampire to follow me. It doesn't make sense. Maybe it was just a coincidental meeting, another vampire either heading to, or from, the gathering happened to cross the same path as me. That sounds possible.
I look over at Morgan. She is still beaming with happiness. It's quite scary.
"Hey Morgan?" I decide to test her
"Yes mistress Isadora?"
"Who is Jesse?"
"Um... I don't know... Who is it?"
"Oh, no one" I see. That's what's going on here. I hope this doesn't cause any problems.
We walk for another few minutes in silence. I can tell something is bothering Morgan. I might as well ask, we are friend right?
"Morgan what's wrong?
"Oh, um, I was just wondering..."
"Yes?"
"Why did you not fight them?" how to answer "I mean you were clearly prepared for it, but then you stopped... I was just wondering why"
"Morgan, sit down" I motion to the ground, prepared to tell her

It was a dark night. Rain battered against the window of our room. Thunder boomed in the sky. My sister was lying in bed with me. She was always afraid of thunder. Not that I blamed her, it scared me too.
We were just lying there, talking. We enjoyed each others company. We talked of tricks we could pull on the chefs, rearranging the spice cabinet. We talked about games we could play tomorrow. We talked of life.
It was on this night everything would change.
It started with a crash, louder than the rest of the thunder. Our room shook. Whatever happened, it appears rocked the foundation. My sister, being scared, decided to run to our mother for protection. I was asleep at this time, the thunder not able to keep me from my sleep.
A scream woke me. I found myself lying alone in bed. I quickly jump out of bed. Dashing down the hall towards the noise. Inside I found a frightening scene. My mother, surrounded by stone from the collapsed ceiling, dead. An axe used to cut her clean in two. My poor mother, the vampire queen.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
I find a large man standing over her body. Wielding a bloodied great axe. He wears full steel body armour, covering him from head to toe. It appears to be magically enhanced. Standing in front of him, hands over her mouth, my little sister.
The man in steel turns his body to face her. He pulls off his helmet, revealing a well aged man in his early 50's. His face twist into an expression of disgust.
"Well, we get to kill another queen today. Right boy" the large man says, addressing a teenaged boy behind him. He remains expressionless.
"Hmphh" the man draws his axe back, prepared to attack my sister. I attempt to jump towards him, only to find myself being held back. I turn and find Crystal, tears in her eyes, shaking her head. I fight try to wrestle out of her grasp. I fail.
She quickly covers my eyes, but I don't need them. The smell is of blood, my sister's blood, is enough. The sound of death, my sister's last breath, is enough. The feel of despair, my sister's last emotion, is enough. The taste of hatred, my sister's last gift, is enough. I do not need my eyes for this.
Crystal finally lets me go. I do not move. I do not need to. I know what is before me. Only death.
"Damn it, DAMN IT ALL" I scream running up to my sister's body. The large man and teenage boy are gone.
"Wake up, please wake up... don't leave me alone. I can't do it, I-I-I just can't... please!" I beg. Crystal makes no comment to my begging of a lifeless corpse.
"Please... Lindy"

I sit beside Isadora. Tears in my eyes. Her's are closed, but I can feel tears in them to. We sit without comment, only complete silence accompanies the story. Even the birds stop chirping out of respect.
We sit like that for an hour. Not moving, not speaking. Isadora's eyes are still closed.

AN - I'll let it sit.
