The kind faced instructor beckons the whole group forward. I ready my identification card while clutching my smartphone on the other hand. I hurriedly stuff my phone in my backpack. Cheating is a very real offence and there is no mercy given to them. I shake at the thought of being accidentally caught with my phone in my pockets.
I send a last minute message to my latest date. I was intending to ghost him after finding out my crush have similar feelings for me. I knew he would be crushed by the silence but I proceeded to do so anyway without guilt.
The instructor invigilator checks my identification card and found no issues. He nods and signals me to go inside the room.
There are at least forty monitors cramped inside this tiny room. Much of which are all black windows monitors with custom software. We have seats already assigned to us. The monitor at the front showcasing the exam information clearly. This is it.

Since when I was young, I had always wanted my driver’s license. It is something of a pre-requisite in my mind to becoming a true adult. Without which one would be handicapped and cannot travel to wherever they want to. Still, the anxiety of driving and as the experience of a total beginner makes me feel small and tiny. I was in a world where I was not in control of. At least that was my thoughts.
I sat down in front of the dimly lit computer screen at the furthest back row. It is seat thirty four. I roll up my sleeves and stashed my backpack below the seat. My identification card goes on the front of the desk and I sit patiently awaiting my highly consequential test.
