World Line B - Chapter xiii.5 : Burned by Ice
World Line B
My soul for the lives of many… the life of my friend.
Gretzel was always there for me. She saved my life for so many times that I could remember.
She was the sister I never had. My best friend.
The people of Osniton… Thear. I need to save them. Albert….
“Okay.”
“What?”
“Take my soul. Make the deal.”
“Smart girl.” She smiled. Her pink eyes glowed. “Where do you want it? The mark of the contract?”
“On my forehead.”
The devil with three horns laughed. She played with her short green hair, then her long elven ears. “All of the people I’ve met were hiding that Cursed mark. And you, on the forehead? Why?”
“So that I’ll never forget.”
That’s when the devil kissed me on the lips.
I opened my eyes only to see Lorice, healing my chest.
Then I felt a burning feeling on my forehead.
“You sold your soul?”
I stood up and I feel good as new. “Yes… just to get you back.” I smiled. “I missed you, Gretzel.”
“You’re… you’re crazy….” Gretzel started to cry as she hugged me. “You’ll go to hell…”
“It’s fine.”
Then Gretzel looked into my eyes. “Your eyes… they’re blue.”
“Burned by Ice, huh?”
“You’ll need this.” Gretzel pulled out a sword out of thin air. And not just any sword. It was Blood Edge. “I sensed its presence nearby. Where did you last placed this?”
“On Albert’s room… Albert’s here!!”
We rushed outside the castle and there, I saw Norwind. Riding a golden dragon about 30 ft. Dragons… don’t exist anymore… right?
The dragon’s flames burned the puppets into ash as Norwind slashed those who jumps at him.
He noticed me.
“I’ll handle it here, Eliza. Go to the….” When he noticed who I was with, he jumped off his dragon. A huge axe was in his hand, about to slash Gretzel into half.
I blocked it.
“It’s Gretzel. Lorice is gone.” I said. Having a closer look, it was my father’s axe.
That’s when he saw the mark on my forehead.
“You sold your soul? And your eyes?”
“I know. Let’s talk about this next time.”
Lightning struck behind him. Three puppets got burned and fell into ashes. Gretzel smiled. “I still got it.”
Though I never see you cast spells before my eyes.
Norwind said that on the outer wall, that’s where most of the puppets were. And so we went there.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Many soldiers were dead along with the puppet soldiers that Lorice had.
“Even though Lorice was gone, her spell on these puppets didn’t wore off.”
That was when I saw a girl about my age. She had purple hair and green eyes. She was trying to reach for her sword. But due to her wounds, she couldn’t.
I leaped in front of her and there, the ground froze. Alone with then puppets. Somehow, deep inside me, I know what I have to do. How to unleash my power.
I slashed the air and then the frozen enemies crumbled.
I called Gretzel to heal the girl.
“Have you seen Albert?” I asked.
The girl stood up and took her two swords. Placed them on her scabbard and looked at me. “Are you Eliza?”
“Yes.”
Then I felt a stinging pain of my cheek. She slapped me.
“Do you know how much Albert has sacrificed just to save you? And then you’re going to sell your soul?”
“I was dying.”
“I see. I couldn’t blame you.” She looked at Gretzel. “Is this Gretzel? Is she still on the Dark Side?”
“She’s no longer on the Dark Side…. did Albert made you watch Star Wars too?”
She nodded cutely.
That was when I heard a gunshot.
And the puppet turned into dust. And there, I saw Albert.
He was wearing a black long coat. It was the coat that I bought for him and wrapped as a Christmas Present. And he has an AK-47 in hand.
“Hey there.” Albert smiled. “I kinda lost your sword somewhere. I’m sorry. I was trying to find it though.”
“You mean this?” I picked up Blood Edge and have it rested on my right shoulder.
He laughed . Probably because he saw me wearing his "I eat ass" shirt. “Oh yeah, I forgot to give you my Christmas Present.” His smile was creepy. But it was the smile that I’ve always loved.

Author’s Notes
Last time I checked the views of the prologue of Nascent, it was 600 something. Yay! Thanks for the support, guys.
Actually, on the original plan, I was going to end everything here with Eliza dying. But, meh, I kinda fell in-love with her and her character so yeah, let’s keep her alive.
The next volume will be like, I don’t know when I will write it. But I will redraw and rewrite Nascent since a lot of the readers was confused about it. But yeah, my mind is a mess and it kinda shows in my writing style, lol.
That’s it, I guess. :>
