Samantha suffered the same fate as Frank. Overall, they both had similar experiences and lives and slowly they fell in love. They realised pretty quickly that they wanted to travel somewhere far and new but they didn't have enough money! That's where an illegal immigration group came in to help. They offered a huge discount and Frank and Samantha had just enough money to accept it. And so they did very highly questionable and shady business with the groups and eventually, they left their home planet.
