LEVEL UP

“I walked around and gained experience,” Jason paused and went to a sitting position. “Ya that makes complete sense. Complete and utter sense. No fighting or anything… just walking around. I’m not complaining.”

Getting up and checking his status he saw that he could actually do something with it now. Unlike yesterday when he first saw it.

The skills and talents were the same with him having none, but the stats and general information page showed a few changes. Is it going to be 100 experience each time? That’s a steal since I can get more than that just by walking around for a while. Though I’m not actually sure how the experience gained works yet. I could figure it out probably if I knew exactly how many hours I walked. I could honestly figure it out now probably but I’m lazy. At least I know I slept for a bit more than ten hours. At least based on the fact that I had five stamina when falling asleep and my stamina regeneration.

As for these stat points I guess I can add them anywhere. Are they automatically added when I place them somewhere or can I see the changes made first. Jason added a stat point to endurance and saw that yes he could see the changes made

He took the stat point back and saw that the numbers went back to how they used to be. He added it to each stat and saw all the changes that were made. In Fortitude, Endurance, and Focus they just added ten to the total amount of health, stamina, and mana he had. In Vitality, Vigor, and Willpower they added .5 regeneration to all the stats. Charisma just added one bf, whatever the hell that was.

Luck… was weirder. First off the percentages gave no inclination as to what they actually did. The first went up to 5.5% and the second went up to .55%. Not a large increase and once more no clue as to what they actually do.

Well let’s actually think about this. I can’t just throw them somewhere and hope for the best. I actually have to think about it. What can help me escape from these caves? Jason thought back to something he’d been avoiding for a long time. Those dead people.

They had armor and weapons so they probably had classes. Not to mention they had these godforsaken fruits as well. Jason patted his fanny packs. They were slaughtered. Something is in these caves and for some reason insofar I haven’t encountered it. I’ve been either lucky or it just doesn’t think I’m tasty which is also luck in it’s own way.

They looked like they had a warrior, archer, assassin, and some dude in robes. Though those got shredded. Jason looked at his own ragged basically gone clothes. Those would’ve been nice.

They had Fortitude and Endurance and Vigor and all those attributes most likely. What warrior wouldn’t want more health and stamina and the robe dude was probably a mage of some sort which meant he definitely had the two magic stats at a high number. Or at least higher than I will in any amount of time.

It didn’t help them. They’re still dead. I highly doubt charisma will do a thing against the monster as well. From how their bodies are still in pieces it seems like whatever it is doesn’t want to talk and more just wants to murderize me. Jason sighed and looked at the final stat.

“Fucking hell,” Jason threw all his points in and confirmed it mentally.

“I really need to rely on something as ridiculous as luck.” It was the only stat left that would maybe help him. Having more stamina would be nice, but this place was so large and such a maze that he would never be able to find his way out before he died. Health really wasn’t needed right now and the same goes for health regen. Mana would be nice because magic, but it probably took some amount of skill in mana control and that was something Jason didn’t have time to learn.

Charisma was of course most likely useless on the monster so the only one left that would maybe be of any help was of course luck. I hope to god I can get more levels soon. Jason started his journey of the day once more. He got about five meters before he slapped himself in the head.

SKILLS!!

“Forgot about skills! Those could really actually help me. Alright well status was for status… it didn’t pop up. Guess it knows when you actually want to see it. Huh… good to know I guess. Umm… skills…? Nope. Abilities? Powers? Skill trees? Ah there we go,”

Offense

Defense

Utility

“Very vague. Love it love it,” Jason clicked through each one and found that they all led to more specific subtrees.

Knives & Daggers

Swords

Axes

Scythes

Polearms

Hammers

Staves

Clubs & Maces

Unarmed

Nunchaku

Those were in the Offense tree followed by the Melee subtree and each of those separated into an Active and Passive sub-sub-subtree. From there you simply got a strange list.

Tier 1

10 exp

Tier 2

100 exp

Tier 3

??

Alright so… assumption time. Number on the right is how much experience I have to use to unlock that specific tier. Stupid but ok. Also assumption number two is that the skills get better as you move forward in the skill tree. Alright now it’s time to actually find some skills I want.

It seems that the Offense skill trees are damage skill trees. Probably with some effects like slow or crippled or something like that as well when using the melee or ranged weapons. I don’t need those as I can’t even use a weapon. The Defense one’s are also pretty useless right now so Utility it is.

Movement

Control

Buffs & Debuffs

Perception

Persuasion

Luck

“Ah. Well there’s Luck.”

Active

Passive

Passive please.

Tier 1

10 exp

Tier 2

100 exp

Tier 3

??

Tier 1

* Lodenstone of Chance [Rank I] (0 / 200)

* Increase the chance of an event randomly happening by 10% (of base)

* Increases by 10% each rank

* Well of Fortune [Rank I] (0 / 200)

* Increase your goodluck by 10% (of base)

* Increases by 10% each rank

“Well I think I have my answer as to what those two percentages are for the luck stat.” Jason considered both skills. I have absolutely no clue as to how these two rank up. They’re passive so I don’t really use them. They just kinda happen. I can probably level up again from today to tomorrow with how much walking I’m gonna do so I guess it doesn’t really matter which I pick. Just that I get one.

Being confident in his assessment Jason simply decided to pick the first one, Lodenstone of Chance. I don’t feel any different… then again it is just luck so that makes sense. With a sense of disappointment in his mind he started walking through the caves.
