The setting sun's rays shone upon the camp one final time and then the entire base was covered in thick fog, only the objects that were in front were visible and without the light sources, seeing far clearly would've been impossible.
It's supposed to be August, when did this fog even come from? It ain't like I ain't thankful for it. It'll make the work easier, Afterall but the time wasn't right, everyone wasn't asleep yet.
So I waited, in my bed. I made sure that my family was fed and I tried to talk to them, to try and make them happy despite all that had happened. Fortunately, Lucy wasn't as quiet as she was in the morning and mom also
Tried to cheer her up. Things were beginning to look better but I knew it wasn't enough.
I thought about where I would hide the weapons, about what would happen in the morning when they find out and most importantly, what to do after that? I just hope that everything will be alright in the end.
I plan on convincing Mike to come along with me. The more people the better but not too many unless they're all united. This camp was a sinking ship from the start and I hope no I'm sure we aren't.
We'll make it through, despite the freaks and the wanna be tyrants. I know, we will and if they stand in my way, I'll make sure to take care of them.
It was time, I sneaked past the people sleeping on blankets in the streets, amongst them were some who were disabled, heavily bandaged, old people, etc. The people in the camp numbered close to fifty now because of people seeing the camp and the camp accepting them. I don't know why the families did so, either BC of good intentions or if they want more "subjects" to rule over.
Although there were many weak people but that doesn't mean that there weren't any strong ones. All you gotta do is look around and they were trying to suck up to the families because they lacked courage or the smarts to be alone.
People were staying either in the street or the buildings. The church was turned into a makeshift medical care centre. Some corners of teg street were turned into kitchens, all in all the camp was functional. Too bad, the people weren't.
I went to the building that was Southwest, The majority of the people were staying in that building because it housed a lot of rooms. The families were staying there, as I got to the entrance, I met up with Mike.
He nodded at me, we both covered our lower faces with some cloth tied behind our heads. We entered the building, we heard snores as we kept on progressing. Me and Mike hadn't talked much, we both understood we were heading for the third floor. It housed pretty much the entire Johnson family. We got to it and we slowed our steps even more. We heard snores from across the entire floor. I opened the door nearest to me, Mike followed inside with me.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
The people there were sleeping and right at the far corner of the room were rifles leaning against the walls. With Mike following behind, we got there quietly, grabbed both guns and their ammo and got out of there. Although this much was enough.
"We gotta take some more guns", I whispered to Mike.
"But we got enough for both of us", he whispered back.
"Yeah but we gotta make them equal with the Bennett's, C'mon", I took the weapons from him and wrapped them in the large folded blanket I was carrying.
I walked to the other door and entered it. Again, the guns were at the same spot. Mike and I got there and grabbed them with ammo then all of a sudden, I heard moans from next door.
I looked back at Mike and he had his eyebrows raised. That might be Jamal and that other girl. Not my business, we both got out of the building fast and at the entrance,
"Mike, I say we hide the guns at the building across the street. You know, where we talked about the teg plan. Do you wanna come with me?", I whispered to Mike.
"Sure, I'll come with ya'",
We both started walking there, the fog covering us from the night patrol at the barricades. He and I got there and up the building, the reason why people weren't staying in this one was because most of the building was outside of the camp.
So out of fear, the people decided to stick with the families. Mike and I got up the stairs, there was a guard stationed here at the second floor to watch over the Southern street and it's barricade.
We managed to get past him without alerting him. I planned on stashing the weapons on the third floor, we got there and we hid the weapons.
"Hey, Mike came over here a second", I walked to the window and showed him what I saw last night.
"What in the Hogwarts is that?", Mike was surprised.
"I thought more people might already known but I guess not. The trees are brighter today, they were just faintly glowing before",
"Are they magic now or something?",
"I don't have a single clue but it definitely is pretty. First, the zombies, then this fog and then magic trees.",
"Well, the only thing left now is dragons ",
"We should actually hope that doesn't happen",
"Fair enough but now, what?",
"Well now we gotta leave the camp.",
"And go where exactly?",
"somewhere where there aren't zombies or pricks to worry about",
"A remote island?",
"Haha ..somewhere a bit realistic",
"Well you gotta pick one, then",
"I'm thinking the outskirts of the city or we somehow clear out a large area",
"Outskirts then?",
"Yeah, be ready. I reckon when the time comes, we won't leave peacefully.",
"Understood, ..meet you in the morning brother.",
"You too ..brother",
Mike and I got out of there without alerting anyone. We got to our sleeping areas in the street and separated from there. In total, we took four guns or rifles, not anything small like a Glock but I'm sure it'll make a difference, we just gotta wait and see.
