In the middle of the street, surrounded by large trees and damaged cars, a large group of various types of zombies were mawling each other to death.
There was blood everywhere. Some zombies chewed on dogs, some dogs managed to bring down humans, and some cats ate through dogs by burrowing inside them.
The zombies that were feeding were also being fed on. It was pure insanity. The road, the vehicles on it, the sidewalk—everything was bloody. They were fighting to eat each other.
How insane has the world gotten? Is this supposed to be considered a normal sight from now on? It doesn't matter; all are trying to survive. It's been like that ever since the first findings of light on this world, and I guess this is just another phase of this world, just like the Jurassic era and the ice age, but I honestly don't know if this phase will die out. No more thoughts only work now.
I have to get out of here. Maybe if I can climb over this wall, I could jump from roof to roof. That sounds like a solid plan! It would get me off the ground as well..away from them. The building In front of me was a two-story building, with the first floor being a store and the top one having a window open. There's my chance; I managed to maneuver my way to the window.
I entered it, and the room I was in was a bedroom. It was more likely that this was a hotel room. I heard groans; I gotta take care of that, but not with this on. I put it down and readied my knife. I sneaked my way to the door by sliding against the wall, and then rushing out, I saw the zombie. Not wasting a moment, I stabbed the zombie right in the middle of its forehead.
It went down silently, but there were two more zombies to my left; they were a bit apart from each other, and the one closest to me had its face away from me. It was easy to take down, but it didn't go down silently; it let out loud moans, which attracted the other one. It ran at me, groaning loudly, but I managed to dodge it and get to its side and then plunged my knife sideways, right above its ear.
That scared me for a second there, but more are going to come here now; I have to get out of here. I went back to get my bag, and as soon as I got it, I ran straight across the hallway. The zombies were beginning to come out. I narrowly evaded them, but they gave chase.
I ran as fast as I could, but the number of voices behind me was only increasing in number. I managed to get to the final room at the end of the hallway and locked myself in. It was empty, thankfully. I got a chair and put it against the doorknob, but the sounds of smacking and scratching were only worrying me. At the street there was a blood bath, and here it was going to be a blood bath! What should I do? I started walking towards the window, and in front of me was an alleyway.
I have to jump; there's no other way. Suddenly, sounds of loud chewing started behind the door. I have to get out now! I opened the window and slowly tried to climb down and eventually jumped down. I followed the alleyway away from the road but still got back to the direction I was going for. There were many zombies along the way. I tried to get past most of them by throwing rocks to distract them or even sometimes using the pieces of flesh around me to lure them away.

I did it all securely as I could for my health, but I'm certain my mental health has taken a major hit. I got past about two more buildings; the pace was certainly slower than I wanted it to be, but it was either this or that. In front of me were a whole gang of zombies—at least twenty. The same wretched scene from before was playing out again. I watched as two zombies chewed on and were actively eating each other. Seeing this sight so many times has left me sick to my stomach.
I don't want to die like that. I have to get away from here; I have to survive; I just have to! I did what I could to lure them away and hid wherever I could. I was near them for at least half an hour, waiting for when they would leave the spot.
Even if there was one at a time, I was sure their sounds would attract more or I would be seen by the other zombies, but before that could happen, I got out; it was already the afternoon. I could see a large group of zombies coming from the east. I may not make it to the store, but I have to find shelter.
By now I had gotten past about four large buildings from the hotel. I spotted about two zombies; if it were any other time, I would ignore them, but in the other paths were far more zombies compared to them.
I took out my hammer and rushed at them. I smashed the first one on its head, sending him downwards, and when the other came, I let go of my hammer and dodged its overhand punches. I got behind it and stabbed it at its forehead as it was turning around. I'm getting tired of this. I cleaned my hammer, put it back in my bag, and then got my knife out of the zombie's face with a jerk. I cleaned it with my rag.
Which I threw away. I have to keep moving. After some time, I had crossed about some more buildings and was approaching the gun store, but now in my path there were too many zombies around me to continue. So, I climbed up a store, and this was only a one-story building, and for this building, I tried to climb it sideways rather than go inside.
I was fortunate that I didn't get eaten at the hotel, but that doesn't mean I can risk being reckless. I used various things in my path as leverage to get ahead, and sometimes my hands slipped, but I still got across, and thankfully my bag didn't weigh much, so it was almost never a hindrance, but all that climbing is making me want to throw it away. It's good I got out of my room.
I can only imagine what would happen to me if I didn't. Maybe a bunch of zombies found me and wanted me to be their dinner. I don't know, but I'm here now, and I'm thankful, but this isn't the time to think it's time to do.
I have to get out of here. I finally managed to get to the store. I had managed to climb on to the roof of a store, and well, I found people. They were likely here for the same purpose as me. They even had a vehicle to get away from here; most of the vehicles I've seen have busted windows or are parked in buildings or on top of other vehicles.
Should I go and say hi? Well, it isn't like I can; they seem busy.
"ROB! How much longer are you going to take?" yelled the redhead middle-aged man.
There were about four people, three outside the door. They were using guns to shoot the largest number of zombies I've seen yet—at least a hundred. They were doing pretty well for amateur shooters, but the zombies were surrounding them, and when they weren't paying attention, a couple of them got to one of them.
They got in close range to a blonde-haired young man. He was trying to shoot towards his right side; the zombies at the left got pretty close, and one managed to grab and bite his arm off.
"BOB! SHOOT TH-yaarh!?" Another zombie managed to get to his throat, and eventually, all the rest joined in.
I looked away and crouched down.
"SH*T! THEY GOT JOHNNY!" The man from before yelled again.
