A hero is coming!!
El Santo Liberation Front

El Santo Liberation Front

The formation was seven groups of four, three groups of two, and two single knights. A total of 36 people. Karna acted as a healer, Whis was a shortstop who defeated monsters appearing from the forest and plains, and Elliot and Belhard, along with El Santo's guards Alibel and Winbert, formed the charge. As the sun began to rise, the El Santo side of the checkpoint opened, and they charged forward all at once. Low-level monsters roamed the road, blocking the way, but Elliot and Belhard, and the single knights Alibel and Winbert, ran and defeated them with one swing. They were two of the best in the El Santo Knights. The rest of them defeated the monsters that appeared on the road from the plains. The furious counterattack of humanity had been cut off. The four in the front aimed for the weak spots as they ran, killing them almost in one hit. Most of the monsters Elliot and his friends had fought up until then, and Alibert and Winbert's sword skills improved steadily as they watched Elliot's movements. Elliot tried to keep his mental strength up by not using magic as much as possible.

Kate was cheering Elliot on from inside his armor, as always.

As they continued along the road, the bodies of knights who had likely been killed by monsters began to appear here and there.

Belhard was concerned about this. When Elliot first saw a human corpse, he was worried that his spirit would be broken. However, for the sake of his mission, Elliot continued to swing his sword without hesitation, even as he felt pity. He transformed his pity into anger and showed a lion-like display of courage. Elliot's smooth swordsmanship reminded Belhard of Ralph.

"Elliot, don't go too fast. It'll be a long battle."

"Yes, I know!"

Along the way, purple, semi-liquid monsters began to appear here and there.

"That's a monster created by Bastilo!"

Winbert advised as they defeated the monster. At first they couldn't find the weak spot, but Elliot and his friends cut what seemed to be the head, and were able to defeat it with one blow. The experience points of the four, especially Elliot, increased abnormally. Alibel, who was standing behind him, was also moved by the sight of Elliot, who was about ten years younger than him, exterminating the monsters.

The sun was rising to its zenith.

"All right, let's go back to the checkpoint for now!"

As Belhard instructed, the three turned around and headed back the way they came. Supporting the other knights who were struggling, they returned to the checkpoint just before dusk. Naturally, everyone was out of breath.

"You've defeated quite a lot. I think we must have killed three hundred. It's amazing how smoothly things went just because the hero and his party joined us. That's impressive."

Alibel brought food and handed it to Elliot.

Meanwhile, Karna was treating the injured soldiers. The hero's presence inspired everyone, and they were able to carry out today's battle without any losses.

"Yes, thank you. But there were quite a lot of monsters. I overestimated 4,000, so it might be better to keep that in mind."

"Yes, but at this rate we can rebuild El Sant!"

"Yes, let's take it back!"

The second day was also an all-out battle. The monsters around the checkpoint had been almost completely eradicated, and they swiftly advanced along the road. The number of monsters had started to increase where they had turned back yesterday. Covered in blood, the four of them took the lead. After about an hour, the next, rather large town came into view.

"Let's go!"

With Belhard's orders, everyone's morale rose even more.

The movements of the soldier who was in charge of the rear were also improving, and Karna's healing magic was being used less and less. The monsters that appeared on the road from the plains were also becoming Whis's prey. He supported his comrades by firing arrows, and smoothly defeated monsters with the swordsmanship he inherited from Ralph. After defeating all the monsters that were trying to destroy the gate of the next town, Haitosk, Elliot knocked on the wooden gate.

"Excuse me, is anyone there? We've defeated all the monsters in the vicinity, so please come out."

After calling out several times, a peephole opened and the man's eyes met.

"Have you defeated all the monsters in the vicinity?"

"Yes, we're safe now."

"Thank goodness..."

And with that, the door opened.

A middle-aged knight came out.

"Have all the monsters in El Santo been exterminated?"

"No, from the checkpoint to this town. Please give us your strength to take back El Santo."

"In that case, you're welcome, welcome to Haitosk!"

Then, the invasion force continued to defeat monsters around Haitosk until evening, and decided to stay in the town.

Maybe it hadn't been long since the towns were closed, but there was plenty of food, and with one town liberated and our fighting power increased, we were able to liberate the next town in a day.

"According to the story, Bustillo should be hiding in the town after next."

"That's right. I don't know what kind of enemy he is, but this country won't recover unless we defeat him."

Waving the weapon he had polished in Haitosk, Elliot looked down the road.

Normally, one would be scared when facing an enemy for the first time, but this is what makes one a hero.

Belhardt looked at Elliot and felt motivated.

"Okay, let's finish him off in one fell swoop."

The El Santo army, gaining momentum, made a furious advance under Belhardt's orders. The situation on the battlefield changed with each passing day.

However, when they reached Carina, a town just before the one Bustillo was likely occupying, flames were rising from the town. The wall surrounding the town hadn't collapsed that far.

"That's my hometown!"

Alibel, who was traveling with Elliot and the others, shouted. "Damn, we didn't make it in time!"

Belhard calmly instructed a frustrated Elliot.

"Let's hurry and rescue the survivors for now."

Elliot and the other four, along with the three newly-added elites, headed towards Karaina, smashing monsters along the road. When they passed through the half-open town gates, they saw people still being attacked by monsters. Seeing this, Elliot reflexively ran over and decapitated the monster. The other six followed suit.
