The boat fell through the air. The man got that feeling in his stomach, the feeling of falling. His lungs emptied out and the boat crashed into the sea. The man was breathing heavily while the Ferryman continued laughing.
He looked above, the magic doorway that the boat had fallen from had vanished. The sea knocked the boat left to right. He feared that it would tip over but it held steady in the rough, black seas. He looked back at the light, it appeared even further away now than before.
“Was that not fun?” The ferryman said.
“No!” he said. “What was that?”
“My Casting, on Grim’s Doorstep. For 2 Value, it allows me to discard one Unit from my hand, destroy one Unit on my field whose total equals 3, then I can bring Grim King from my hand to the deck.”
“Grim King?”
“Do not worry, I will summon him soon. Now actually.”
Three Treasure Tokens went to the boatman’s side.
“It’s a 3 Value? It must be powerful.”
“It is,” The Ferryman said as the Unit Creature rose from the sea behind it.
The Unit Creature was shrouded in shadow as it grew tall and taller. It grew bigger than any of the Grim Unit Creature the ferryman had summoned. It also cast a shadow that elongated to shroud the boat and the man. He wondered how, in this environment of inky black water, a starless sky and a horizon with no light, save for the light behind him, that represented the living world. So how could the Unit Creature create a shadow in this dark environment?
The man looked at the figure. Purple lightning streaked across the black sky, showering everything in purple for a moment before it vanished. The Grim King was revealed. The Grim King sat was seated at a golden couch. Beside him, he had a bedazzled scythe, resting against the coach. The Unit Creature wore tight disco pants that shimmered in rainbow colours and a yellow shirt with silver jewels embedded in it, the chest area left unbuttoned to reveal the cagey bones of his chest. Its face resembled more of a real skull, like the Ferryman’s but its eye sockets were black and it had a gold grill on its upper teeth with the word ‘Grim’ and a silver grill on its lower teeth with the word ‘King’. It wore a top hat made of gold shiny material that ended with jagged edges, making it look like a crown.

The man gulped nervously. This was the strongest Unit Creature with a Power of 9.
“Now, I move to the Battle Step. Grim King…”
Grim King rose from his throne, grabbing his scythe. It swung its large scythe, cutting Unknown Scholar in half. This decreased his Life Points to 13.
“Now with your field empty, my Grim Kid can attack directly!”
Grim Kid shook his spray can and tossed it at the man. It exploded like a grenade, pushing him back and over the edge of the rim. The water bubbled, multiple hands, much more than before, reached out for him. Desperately trying to grab at him. He pulled himself back onto the boat.
“With that, you lose 3 Life Points.”
His life points went down to 10.
“Now, it is your turn.”
