Chapter 5 Page 2 - The leader

A group of soldiers were walking towards Akilah, closing in on her fast. She had by now let go of the soldier that was no passed out on the ground and was resting on top of a tree stump in front of the house.

The closer the group got the more you could hear the stomping on the ground, shaking the trees as they were walking past, one could feel the anger in each step they took. Although it had not been Akilah’s mission to anger them, it only how added to her original plan. She had wanted to cause a commotion and bring out their leader, once he was in the vicinity of her, she would use her magic to force out the truth behind who broke her spell.

“Are you the imbecile that’s hurt and threatened my men?” A soldier asked.

“Are you their leader?” Akilah replied.

The man furrowed his eyebrows “Answer my question” his barked at her.

A smile rose across Akilah’s face and she let out a chuckle, she locked eyes with him and her smile dropped.

“No” Akilah said and rose up from her sitting position “You’ll answer mine”

Before the man could refute her any further, she whispered out an incantation “vēritātem revēlandum”

The spell that Akilah had casted was a truth spell. It placed a haze on the recipient making unaware of their actions while they reveal the truth.

“Now I’ll ask again” Akilah said looking him directly in the eyes “Are you their leader”

“Yes I am” he replied with no hesitation.

This befuddled the soldiers, they whispered among themselves questioning how she had gotten an answer out of him.

Akilah had noticed this and decided that this whole ordeal would be easier without spectators. She looked over at the guards and whispered out another incantation “sopōrēs”.

Sopōrēs was a sleep spell, making the recipient fall into a deep sleep until the spell is reverse or until a certain amount of time has passed.

“Well that should take care of it” Akilah said amused watching the guard fall asleep in the same positions they were standing in.

“Now” Akilah explained and shifted her focus back on the leader “Let’s talk”.

Akilah, now no longer fearing being watched by the soldier and having their leader under her control, freely conjure forth two chairs and a table with some necessary tools she needed. Akilah sat down on one of the chairs and pointed at the empty one in front of her and called for the troop leader.

“I was gonna offer you a place to sit, but I don’t think my…” Akilah stopped herself before accidentally revealing that she had used a spell on them. Although she had made sure that once the spell is broken the soldiers would have their memories wiped of this event. However since a similar spell of hers that already been broken by them, she didn't feel like risking.

‘Oh well’ Akilah thought ‘I guess I don’t need him to sit’.
