Collection 7

As Told

Resigned to a fate pressed down

Internal conflict, burning crown

See the face smiling, hide the frown

Endure and survive, earn the renown

Listen and obey, you were born to

Out of choice, its the same view

Visions of a world in a nicer hue

Endeavor to be more one day soon

Strike and slash, do what I tell you

Abstain from pleasure, pristine like new

Veil yourself in war leaving no clue

Expand yourself, don't settle to be a moon

Women are under the feet of a man

Indebted to me, your father, grand

Seek to do as I say, listen and obey

Every order you follow everything I say

Makes you wise

§

Mine And Mine

Looking out at the vista, I see the great horizon

There appears to be a world without edge

I wonder what lurks out there, what's left to see

This world is my dreamland, here I control

I won't let anything happen to this my home

I am content to remain, what do I care about out there?

That is a place beyond my worry or care

I look back upon my land, the home I helped to mold

There is not left to concern myself about

Except for the fortune of those I call family

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Home is where the heart is, and my heart is here

I can't worry about those beyond,

So I'll make my own garden here and now

Reshape the land to how I see fit

But make sure to keep myself in check

§

Judge Wisely

Don't judge a book by its cover

Then what's the point of the cover

Lets say it has good art and a bad story

Well that sort of leads into the point

And a bad cover with a good story

Well that makes me wonder what's the point

Perhaps the saying is more wise than it sounds

Things are not always what they appear to be

Before you form an opinion you should try

So lets do away with those misleading walls

Instead lets focus on the content just read

If you leap before you look, you may find a drop

Though maybe the phrase should change

"Be weary of a cover, Judge by the book instead"

Don't be swayed by the pretty art

Don't be dismayed by the ugly part

Its the content of character that counts at all.

§

Pour My Heart To You.

Pour my heart into this cup

See Its Volume fall to the vessel

My love rises as the container spills

The flow increases as my heart falls for you

Grant me my one desire, that it be you I pour into

That cup is not enough, but you surely are all Ill need

§

What's Right

You can do the right thing

Or we can make things right

§

Goddess of the Underworld

Keeper of the crown, of those buried underground

She reined there, undisturbed, for time untold

Her duty and role, the Goddess of the Underworld

Cut short by a short tempered tyrant, a fan of nepotism

Off the throne she was thrown, cast below to serve in her own home

Not all bad she came to find, her new master more of a partner

Her duties lightened she was able to focus on her own

Wandering Hell's corridors, she saw opportunity for new wonders

Down among the dead, she raised her spirits into a life yet unlived

She was content in her new dwelling, a little slice of heaven in this part of Hell
