Rich woke up in a reflective state. He knew that with the information his guide just dropped on him he probably would have to change his life style. Staying a "goodie-two-shoes-no-wrong" cleric was a sure fire way to piss off his god. His god that tricked him but still a god. Rich got up off the bed and cast mend on himself, his shirt, and his flowery under garments. He now knew to will a mana bar that showed up effortlessly. Casting mend 3 times in quick succession really only cost him about a quarter of his mana and it took about 5 seconds to fill back up. That seemed really quick to Rich but his wisdom stat was pretty good at base level 16. He went ahead and fired off mend on basically everything. His pants, both boots, the bed, the floor, the roof, the door, the window, himself again, and just kept casting at stuff until a lite headache started to forum. He stopped at 10 spells and having about 20% in reserve. At least with mend the mana spent seemed to depend on how dirty the object was and dropping his mana that low didn't show him any bad side effects.
Rich heard Charles wake up outside and start digging through the trash. At least when Rich was in the Dream world state thing he didn't have to hear the damn Pig snore. If there was a C-pap machine on this world he would have to get one for Charles. They really are life changers if you have obstructed airways at night. Rich could just imagine being a bad ass high level cleric riding his leveled up "Mithril tusk boar" into battle and then Charles just randomly dies one night because of bad air flow.
Rich sat down in his bad meditation pose and focused on his spells. He didn't bother readying Find familiar but he did now know the need to prepare spells other than healing spells. He was now aware that if he wanted to cast something like "detect magic" or "bane" it would have to be prepared ahead of time. He might not use those spells and could still cast a healing spell in that slot but it would behoove him to prepare the max amount of spells to have the most options. Robert went over some spells with Rich the night before and he remembered the ones he wanted to prepare.
Rick prepared Charm person, detect magic, create water, Detect poison and disease, command, and Ceremony. He thought these were the most likely to pop up in small town life. He was expecting to go out to the forest with Bear and Charles so he figured just having Holy flame as an offensive choice was probably good enough since wolf was over leveled for the area and could always step in if Charles or him got in trouble.
Rich then realized he didn't put on his holy symbol so he picked it off the side table and looked at it again. He was so overwhelmed with the junk in his inventory that he only casually looked at the necklace before. Sure enough it was NOT a feather and stick or whatever he thought it was. It was certainly a dagger and lockpick. That should have been a good hint before but with Rich's mind being so slow and him being in shock he made some choices yesterday that quickly came back to bite him in the ass.
Walking down the stairs in his green top and jeans Rich was greeted first thing in the morning with a line. A line of people all looking at him in wonder. Apparently the story of him healing people for free went around quick. The line quickly moved forward to accost him.
"Rich rich my baby is warm!", "Rich please I was a logger until last year when I lost a foot!", and "please my mother in law needs an exorcism!". All shouted over each other. Rich used minor magical wonder to make his voice slightly louder and said "Everyone shut the Hell up".
Everyone did exactly that. If it was because he asked or because a Cleric just said "Hell" he wasn't sure. He thought for a second and said "I only have 6 basic spell slots a day. There's far too many people here to help at once. Everyone is going to have to wait their turn and I will have to charge" rich had to think for a second of what a "fair" cost was and then go slightly over for his god. He thought 10g was fair so 12g ought to make Jack happy or something. "12 gold for basic healing services". Rich thought that was a fair price but unfortunately for him, the price to have a cleric physically come to Sneles increased the traditional price so much that 12g was saint like. A murmur erupted again. He had to use minor magical wonder again and say "Everyone everyone. I have to train to get stronger to get more spells and better spells. I have to go training in the morning so I will need spell slots too. Please come at the end of the day so I can stay alive with my spells and use the extra right before bed".
He then thought about it and said "the guy with a missing foot can go this morning though. It had to suck hoping all the way here".
Rich meant it jokingly but the guy started hoping up and down on one leg in joy. He hoped forward and Rich ushered him over to a booth to sit in. Right when Ritch was going to cast the spell Wolf put his hand on the cleric and said "Boy this is a great thing you're doing but this man needs drink first. I had to have part of my Jaw and tongue regrown in the monster wars about 10 years ago and I can tell you it's going to hurt a hell of a lot more than just fixing a hobbled leg or hunched back". With the scars still obvious Rich did not ask for details but instead waited while Wolf brought over a large bottle of hard alcohol, 3 shot glasses, and a towel. "Don't you think I should not drink..." Rich started and Wolf immediately cut him off. "Son, channeling this spell is going to be the most important thing you can do. If you start the spell and stop half way through it's going to be a terrible mess. You're going to see bone and blood and it's going to shock. You have to continue channeling. If you stop mid cast it's going to reopen the wound, grow out the bone, and start to grow back the meaty bits but stop there. You have to keep casting. It's a bloody mess and it hurts until the spell gets started. It takes the magic a second to kick in the anti pain part of the spell". Rich responded "ahh 2 drinks then". The men set too it. Apparently Wolf was drinking because he was going to hold the leg and then when Rich had his drinks, Wolf had many, and the lumberjack had pretty much everything left Wolf called to Bear to "Get a rag" and then amended "A clean one". Bear did oblige and the rag was rolled up and put into the lumberjacks mouth. Rich then paused, pored out the dregs of the bottle, and took another shot. He was psyching himself up when Wolf said "al get on with it".

Rich placed his hand on the stump and said "Regrow!" and slowly the healing magic left his body and started to form a new foot for the poor guy. First the stump that ended half way between the ankle knee opened up the parts of the skin that had fused together to form his stump split open delicately and where the Fibula and Tibia were partially shattered and cut separated and then began to regrow, slowly at first with a lot of screaming. Then the magic seemed to pick up a little bit and the poor logger passed out. The bone first extended down too the Talus and then the meaty parts and skin followed. When everything was more or less caught up all the little bones of the foot started appearing in mid air and cartilage soon filled in the gaps. Flesh, tendons, arteries, and everything else started appearing as Rich was starting to get woozy. He held on though and made damn sure to keep casting the spell until completion because doing this again seemed horrible. As that thought crossed his mind the spell was done.
Unfortunately the guy got a bad roll and was still missing a pinky toe. He didn't care at all and when he came too jumped up on his new foot celebrating with another lady he assumed to be his wife. She wouldn't hear of Rich using another spell to grow back the pinky toe until everyone else had been healed. That was a pretty smart plan because her husband clearly was not missing the pinky toe while jumping around and exclaiming in pure jubilation. Rich didn't think he was crying but Sally shortly was yelling at people to "Get out get out, if you're not buyin don't both everyone in here. get out and come back later if you're sick!" which seemed hilariously harsh to Rich but given the fact that someone just had a foot regrown everyone was hopeful and calmed down. Until the husbands wife said "Morning breakfast is on me! Everybody stay" which made everyone happy, including Sally.
Rich was glad everyone else was happy because the sight threw him off bad. He was cold and clammy and needed a minute. If it was from mana deprivation from pushing himself so hard to grow back almost half a leg or jus the grewsome site he didn't know. Wolf sat down across from him and began telling Rich a story he though was hilarious.
> "Alright so Sally told you about that expedition where I got wolf, ya? Well. What she probably didn't tell you is we were in a right strong party. We were going out to cull the monsters to the north of the capital. The monsters there were quite strong. For 4 days and 3 nights we were on high alert and on the last day before we headed back we had all leveled numerous times. We had a full fledged adventuring Cleric and he was worth his weight in gold. Mind you he had full Mithril plate so that was a considerable weight, Ya? Well. On that last day I leveled and unlocked the ability to find my familiar. Similar to what you used but I got it much later but at the benefit of having a much more powerful familiar. I had just cast the spell and we got attacked by a pack of Giant Apes. Now normally this wouldn't have been an issue but I was the scout and since I was focused on casting the spell the Apes snuck up on the party. To cut a short battle shorter everything was eventually fine but the Fighter of the party got his shield arm torn off below the elbow. He drank a healing potion to stem the bleeding but he knew the Cleric was going to have to get involved after the fight. He kept fighting like nothing happened. The most bad ass guy I knew. When the fighting was done and no less than 16 Giant Apes were dead the Cleric went to cast his more advanced Regrow spell. Now his magic was top notch and the anti pain components kicked in before the bone started growing. This spell was a 3rd level and intended to be used in combat if needed without downing the person it's cast on. Well I was keeping watch and looking out for my Familiar. I felt my Familiar coming up from the opposite direction I was watching and so I called it out. The Rogue let my new Wolf by and everything seemed fine. Until Bear over there saw the Cleric regrowing out fighters bone. Wolf ran over, ripped out the poor mans radius, and ran over too me happy as can be. Everyone stopped, the Fighter screamed, and the Cleric had to do it all over again".
Wolf couldn't hardly finish the story without laughing. Rich didn't think it made him feel better. He just questioned the intelligence of letting Bear sit in on the procedure. Thankfully Wolf got up to get food and the wife sat across Rich and said "My husban as a been moanin and cryin for months now and I count get him outa bed. Not only dat but he was so sad his peg didn't even work. U've saved more than one person today Rich" and Rich felt his face going red but he did laugh uproariously. He couldn't think of anything to say but she handed over the 12g, handed sally another 2, and sat down at a very rowdy table with her husband and a few others. Bear was over by that table barking quietly on time every other verse went by on the M rated shanty they were singing. They clearly were getting no work done today with the good news of their friend coming back to the forest. A bottle of alcohol was already uncorked and more shots being dispensed. If rich wasn't going to go out after breakfast he would have really liked another shot but mixing magical fireballs with booze seemed terrible. Well fireballs and more booze seemed bad.
