Chapter 10 - More training

I was woken up early in the morning by a servant saying that Jack is here for early morning training, I was still super tired and had a throbbing headache; I can't believe jack wants to train me soo early in the morning kinda regret joining the division.

Well I kinda did this to myself and can't run so let's just get it over with, I got ready and went to meet Jack, who wished was enthusiastic and energetic as ever and wished me a good morning, even though i felt annoyed by this kept it to myself, I asked if the training had to be this early morning and he replied with yes its most effective to train early in the morning and helps develop the body and mind better; there wasn't more conversation as he wanted to start the training right away, knowing I can't change his mind I agreed.

Jack wanted to continue with the combat training that wasn't completed yesterday so he told me to warm up by running 100 laps around the ground, push ups and streching, this was insane but yet is more tame than yesterday's training, after that "warm up" the combat training started.

Jack went straight into it without any pleasantries, he wasn't holding back I managed dodge his first attack but he continued the attack relentlessly and I was trying my best to block but his strength wasn't something I could block I got hit repeatedly, in this training my aim was to hit without magic or tricks which is impossible when this is a bad match up for me, this one sided spar continue for a while before Jack said to take a break, he told me I was doing well and to look for opening and weakness that advice doesn't help me as that was what I was trying to do but I couldn't find any, I told him that and he replied with I wasn't looking hard enough and that no one is invincible but If I find an opponent too hard to fight I should either change tactics or run away.

After having breakfast and resting for an hour the training continued with the combat and then I had to go through that insane training again; I was able to endure it better than yesterday, after who knows how long it took it was over and I thought we were done for the day but Jack said we had to still do magic combat training, I was exasperatedly trying to convince him that I was tired and that we already did a combat training which he refused saying that I should get used to working exhausted and this combat training is a different from the earlier one, couldn't come up with a refutal or excuse to that so had to endure this training too.

Again was on the training ground thought I would be sparing Jack again but to my surprise my opponent was Hera, as if reading my mind Hera said she was better at magic combat than Jack and with that she started the fight; I thought she would be less crazy than Jack but the way she is fighting I'm not sure anymore, she is attacking me with magic arrows from all sides and I am finding it hard to dodge everything and while I was trying to do that she froze the ground making it harder for me to move and then she dashed towards me her fists releasing energy, I saw she was rushing towards me and I also fired my arrows towards her and tried to set the ground on fire to melt the ice but my fire was extinguished when it touch the ice and my arrows also failed to hit as she managed also fired her arrows to block mine, as she closed the distance I realised that I had other choice but to try to meet her punch, I braced my self gathered as much energy as I can and threw the punch and the punches hit and I was thrown away by it's strength and that concluded that one sided beatdown, after that Hera gave me some pointers and advice on how to fight better and that she would give me some materials on magic training and combat, I thanked her for the grounds.

I got home and a servant coming up to me saying that a showdown challenge has been decided in the issue with the Sola family and that it's going to be between 8 families 4 on each side and whoever loses will have to listen to the winners demand; I dont know what happened but how did 6 families come into this when this was mainly and issue between mine and the Sola family, I need some rest I will look into it this headache later.
