Two days after Jake had awaken from his three day sleep the family meeting of the Sullivans was held, all family meetings were always held in the same place in the main mansion upstairs in the briefing room though what Nolan had told Jake was true that they all made big decisions as a family not all the family were involved with the meeting and discussion making, no these meetings were an intimate affair the only ones involved was the families matriarch Heathcliff Sullivan a 89 year old man that started the family and all 8 children he had with his wife Michelle. Nolan, Bruno, Castro, Trisha, Ragna, Terra, Romeo and Josephine these eight were Heathcliff's children all eight possessing one of the 100 mystic sword, and all eight having high positions in their country's military, but even though they were extraordinary individuals they still could feel like children in the presents of their father.
While in the meeting room sitting at a large table all the offspring of Heathcliff sat on one side while their father sat on the other alone, he was the first to arrive he always was the first to arrive but there was tension in the air, the old man sat with his head held down and his hands clasped to together for a long period, his kids didn't disturb him they sat sipping their tea quietly as they waited for their father to initiate the conversation. After around ten minutes the older man lifted his head laying his chin on his clasped hands then he opened his mouth and spoke.
"I am not pleased."
He said with his low deep voice.
"Not in the slightest, not only did we have intruders running amuck in are home, but they manage to escape with some of our inventory, you all know what that means don't you."
He paused for a moment one would think he did it because he wanted his clearly laid out question to be answered, but his children knew him well enough that he didn't they keep their mouths shut, then after his brief pause, he started up again.
"It means if the information gets out that we were successfully robbed of are swords, if info got out that we of the Sullivan family were caught with are pants down there would be repercussions, are alinement with the Gardenia military would start to waver, they would believe that they could overtake us and not just them but all outsiders looking for a sliver of power would believe they could challenge us, the less of the mystic swords we have that mean the less of our own with them, and less of our own without blades means the less of our own with in the military, with in one night one night!
He shouted.
"We lost so much; we are now in danger of losing everything we have built in this family!"
He paused again the older man sat silently letting his aggression simmer, at that seeing an opening Nolan spoke up the first of the man's children who had the courage or more like nerve to speak his mind.
"You're not wrong pops, not wrong at all but just like momma use to say there's always a silver lining."
He smirked looking his father in the eyes and the older man was not amused he never got to say anything because a man sitting to Nolan's left was the second to speak up, but not to his father he didn't dare but to his brother.
"What on earth are you talking about Nolan?"
The man that sat to Nolan's left spoke with an elegant voice he was around Nolan's height, but he didn't have hair he could slick back like his brother as a matter of fact he had no hair, none up top or any facial hair besides the eyebrows on his face the man was bald, Nolan glanced and smiled at the bald man.
"I mean exactly what I mean Ragna there is still a silver lining in all this."
Sitting one seat over to his right a short woman with braided brunette hair and glasses scoffed at him.
"What could possibly be the silver lining in this Nolan?"
She asked annoyed by her older brother and what she believed was his idiotic attics.
"The boy."
He spoke.
"The silver lining is the boy we all saw it, we all saw him unsheathe Tsubaki that's something that none of us could do not even you father."
The older man still sat slightly in his seat he didn't give his loudmouth of a son a response, but Nolan knew that his father knew he was right, Heathcliff was a gifted and talented man when it came to these mystic swords even more than any of his own children, but even with all his natural talent he couldn't unsheathe the shadow princess.
"Oh, I saw all right came."
From a woman sitting further away from Nolan.
"I saw how he injured my son."
"Come on Trisha Judas is fine he just lost an eye and maybe a few fingers."
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
That nonchalant attitude of Nolan's pissed the woman off if they were allowed to bring their blades to their meeting, she would have used hers to cut her younger brother head off.
"This is no joke, Nolan!"
At this the woman slammed her hands on the table and rose to her feet.
"It doesn't matter what that piece of filth can or can't do he snuck in are home stole from us and used one of are weapons to harm one of use he should be put to death, him and his entire family!"
"I agree."
Another voice chimed in this voice came from a man sitting directly to Nolan's right the man head was full of hair just like Nolan's but his was messy and uncombed, the man not wearing his own military attire had a sloppy look to him.
"I agree with Trisha that boy and his comrades committed a heinous sin and they should be punished extremely."
At this it was almost unanimous everyone agreed that Jake should be executed for his crimes even though Heathcliff was silent he also wanted the boy dead for daring to challenge the Sullivan families authority, there was only two who weren't in agreement the first of course was Nolan who was trying and failing to advocate for Jake but the other was a man who like his father sat quietly, the man sat the furthermost from Nolan he was to Trisha's right and with her standing in protest to Nolan's suggestion the man was partially obscured, but Nolan knew he was there so he called out to him.
"What about you Bruno, do you have anything you want to say."
The quiet man named Bruno brushed back his shoulder length black hair and looked in Nolan's direction.
"I don't know what you want me to say Nolan, I think the discussion on what to do with the boy's life has been decided."
"Come on little brother."
Nolan playfully wined.
"Don't you care about that poor boy's life?"
"Why would I?"
Bruno responded and with that Nolan smiled.
"Well, I think you should."
Nolan's demeanor through off his siblings and even his father they knew Nolan and he wouldn't normally act this way, if it was anyone else he would have agreed to the family decision without a second thought if he was acting normal Nolan would have offered to execute the person himself only to do something with his own boredom, but because of this boy he was acting unlike himself Trisha the one out of all them who was the most fed up with Nolan and his shenanigans called I'm out on his behavior.
"What's going on Nolan what stupid game are you playing!"
Nolan chuckled then leaned forward placing his elbows on the table.
"No game sis it's just I spoke to that boy, he and I had a nice little conversation."
"And?"
She asked in disgust.
"And he told me some interesting things that were so interesting in fact that I got suspicious, so I had my butler Curtis follow up on my suspicion."
Nolan leaned his head on his left hand as he looked at his brother Bruno smiling from ear to ear.
"I had Curtis take a bit of my blood and the boy's blood and match them together and wouldn't you know the blood match was pretty close, not a parental match but more like a match between a nephew and an uncle."
Everyone listing to Nolan babble began to scrunch up their faces in confusion only expect for Heathcliff and Bruno, the latter whose heartbeat began to quicken.
Then I had Curtis look into the boy's background and found out about his mother
Bruno's eyes when big does Jeanette Green ring a bell little brother?"
Everyone except Heathcliff turned to look at Bruno but he was so shocked he didn't say anything to them, Trisha was the first to turn back to Nolan.
"Who is this, Jeanette?"
"She was a maid who worked here 15 years ago, I had Curtis confirm it with the others she and Bruno had a little fling going on back in the day, ain't that right Bruno."
He said towards his brother but still the man didn't respond.
"I don't blame any of you for not remembering but I sure do, it was so dramatic just for some silly little fling I hadn't seen father so upset in his life."
Nolan chuckled shooting a quick glance at his father at this point he was holding his head back down.
"According to Curtis that maid disappeared never to be seen again until now, until 15 years later her son…. And bruno's son came to are estate to rob us."
Nolan sat back and his chair again now taking sips of his tea.
"The silver lining is that the boy is one of us a Sullivan a Sullivan that unsheathed the unsheathe-able blade that no one has been able to in the past 100 years."
