Chapter 9.5 - False God

Chapter 9.5 - False God

A group of demons wearing red cloaks were being mysteriously cut down by an immortal within a church in the North of the Grandiel continent.

“What are you doing?! Aren’t we on the same side?!” the last demon wearing a red robe asked.

“We aren’t! While the rest of us have been fighting, all you’ve been doing is praying!” the immortal said.

“Have patience. Wait a little longer, it’s only a matter of time before he comes back to us!” the demon wearing the red robe tried to reason.

“I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR FIVE YEARS! HE ISN’T COME BACK! WAS HE THERE WHEN MY BROTHER LUGER DIED?!” the immortal shouted, and continued, “Zieg is a false god.”

“How dare you!” the remaining demon wearing the red robe tried to attack the immortal in anger. The demon reached out both hands in an attempt to choke the immortal.

The immortal hadn’t moved, but the fingers of the hands that the demon tried to reach out with were sliced off.

“Too bad,” the immortal smirked, “This temple was under my territory the second I entered it. If you don’t move, I might decide to spare your pitiful existence.”

The demon wearing the red robe froze in fear of being cut.

The immortal walked up to the temple’s altar, and pulled out the bloodred artifact sword enshrined there. After taking the sword, the immortal slowly walked until he was behind the demon wearing the red robe, and said, “You forget his words. ‘If I should fall, other demons shall carry on my will.’ I will be that other demon. It’s high time for the Grandiel continent to have a new Demon King, don’t you think?”

“Are you going against our savior?” the red-robed demon asked.

“Our savior? YOUR savior is dead. I’m taking back Central. Maybe I’ll start with that new magic school. I heard the headmaster there is pretty dangerous,” the immortal chuckled, “Oh, and by the way,” he impaled Bloodwhistler into the demon’s back, “I lied about sparing you.”

After killing all the members of the cult, the immortal exited the shrine.

“I need to get rid of the ones still loyal to Zieg,” he said to himself.
