My statement made half of the soldier, almost everyone who got up after the combined sound attack, grip their sword ready to draw them. Well my words choiche was poor so it was understandable, but the officer only kept staring at me with a calculating gaze. The gaudy man was also up again and, after ingesting some kind of pill he took from his breast pocket, had a frightened look just like he found himself in front of a bear.
When all the soldier got better the officer ordered them to unchain me from the pole.
- Come, if you want to talk so much we will see the end of it. But I warn you if you make me lose time, your empty threat will not save you.
- Fair enough.
During the short walk between the jail and the biggest tent I was able to take another look at the camp's life. The various soldier and other personel where watching intently our procession, but the fact that the wall's guards where doing their jobs diligently, even after all the commotion, speaked volumes of their discipline. Our destination revealed to be the commander's tent, the assortement of equipment inside made me think it also doubled as his private quarters. But what attracted my attention the most was the equipment propped on an armour stand, a woman in toga-like attire was prodding it and writing notes on a parchment. The armour that was scrutinized by the woman was none than the armour I builded at the beginning of this whole mess.
Seeing again my original, impromptu made, armour made me think of the time passed. Sure, the years of training were already bearing fruits, but I could not help feeling nostalgic. And watching carefully the whole ensemble made me cringe, for an hastly made thing it was all right, but it looked soo shoddy... Well no use in crying over spilled milk. I wondered why they were still analysing it, if Cawic's mercenary had my armour, and for them thirty days passed from my death, it could made sense only if they acquired it recently.

While I was musing about what was so interesting about my creation, the officer sat down behind the central desk that faced the tent's entrance. Two of the armored soldier stood behind him and he signaled the other to surround me. Well at least he was polite enough to make one of them fetch a chair for me, or maybe he tought I was less dangerous if I was in a more controllable position.
- Speak. What's the "danger" that made you think a sound attack in an closed space was a good idea?
His irritation was painly displayed into his tone, and his sudden question made me rethink my need for subtlety. Even after death my social skill were severely lacking, when I was beginning to talk the gaudy man intruded.
- Wait! You will not begin without me! I'm the one in charge of this expedition!
I watched while the man stormed inside the tent and, while giving me a wide bert, placed himself behind the desk next to the officer and near the woman that was still immersed in her own observations. The officer was a good actor, or at least had talent for it, because he was able to hide his murderous expression almost immediately. I was really curious about their situation and what was going on between their chain of command, but the timer was still makink me feel anxious so I ignored their byplay and I did go straight to the point.
- What if I told you a monster swarm is going to get here in a few hours?
The soldiers stilled, and going by the astonished expressions of the two men in front of me maybe I was going to regret again my, anxiety fueled, straightforwardness. The two's expressions changed almost at the same time, but while the gaudy man acquired a thoughtful look, the officer face filled with clear mirth. HIs loud laugh that followed confirmed my hypothesis.
- Ha ha ha ha ha! Are you serious?! It's such a bad joke that it became funny for all the wrong reasons! Are you trying to pass yourself as a seer now?
His mirth faded quickly and he was again scowling just in time to hear the muttering of the man next to him.
- So the temple's interpretations are right... Impossible my theory fit much better this situation... But if he is a...
- Enough! This joke end now! You! You're going back into the prison, and you... As I tould you before end the nonsense and go back to your quarters!
Well, my previous thought revealed as far as one can be from reality, the officer was not cut to be a politician, that's for sure.
