Third Person’s P.O.V:-

The person who was crawling at the front in the narrow tunnel nodded his head and unwillingly followed his captain’s orders and entered the room. The others beside him didn’t follow and waited for a response of some kind to come from him so that they could be sure about their safety.

Though they had the skin and their race registered as humans they were in no way different from backstabbing, greedy, savages like Goblins.

They waited for a minute after which the much awaited voice came.

“Come out everyone, it’s just fog, nothing else. Moreover, the fog is also only five meters thick, gwah.”

Though the idea of encountering fog inside a cave was enough to define craziness and brings fear of the unknown to anyone’s heart, but a simple shout for that person was enough to make the hearts of his fellow brothers lighter and give them the courage to follow behind him.

The defense team was holding the flag and crawling at the front. They were followed by the attack team and then the rest followed behind them and at the end were the five vice captains and their leader. Though figuratively speaking they are real teams and they act the way and complete their part too, but none of the so called members of the teams actually had the jobs given to them. Neither was there anyone in the attack team who held an attack based job, nor was there anyone on the defense team who had any defense related job. They were just lowlife villagers, commoners and people without any jobs and ambitions, who had bonded together with only a single intention of looting other people and get rich.

The second guy followed the first and entered the room and vanished. He entered midst the thick fog and disappeared from the vision of the rest of them.

The next guy was going to follow but then he stopped and waited for him to shout back and only after a couple of seconds another shout came, telling them that it was okay to move that everything was alright. Like this the whole defense team moved inside the room and died.

What really happened? Simple, the ants were clinging to the roof and Buffy was waiting at the end.

Everyone who responded back had his head snapped and his place was taken by an illusion.

Then next person to come after hearing the shout would see his party members standing at the end of the room in a line and he shouts back to inform that it was alright.

It worked for the first five people, but then this strategy of theirs failed, when one of the humans from the attack team went inside the fog, but somehow evaded the attack and ran back towards his team mates, crying and shouting out loud.

“Monsters, There are monsters inside the fog!”

His cry sounded like rubbish to most people of his team as they looked at him in disgust for freaking out because of the fog.

“What, what the hell are you saying? If there are monsters, then why are others shouting about it being safe and all? If you want to die then die alone don’t take me along with you and now move.”

“Please believe me. They are dead, they are all dead!”

The person talking to him frowned, when he saw the hands holding his shoulders shivering. His natural acting was enough to put doubt in his heart, but before he could do anything a shout from his captain came from all the way back and took him by surprise.

“Why the fuck are you lot not moving. Do you want me to come a t the front and drag you all out of the cave?”

The voice was enough to indicate how annoyed his captain was. No, how annoyed their leader was to make his captain deliberately shout out to them.

“Sir, he is saying there are monsters inside the fog.”

One of the bootlickers pointed his finger at the totally scared person and answered back.

Vice captain nodded his head, but didn’t get flustered hearing there were monsters inside the fog. Though when he heard the description his heat became uneasy and broke out in cold sweat.

“Okay, no need to fret. Tell me what happened?”

The scared one looked all the way back and answered while stuttering.

“I- I wen- went inside the fo- fog and I after taking some steps I sw- I saw,”

“What did you see? Don’t make me lose patience and hurriedly explain everything!”

“Heee, there was blood, a lot of blood. I bent forward to see it clearly, when something above me snapped. I- I hurriedly looked above to see what it was an- and, and there it was, a giant ant. A very big ant. I ran back just as I saw that, and- and”

His chief heard his every word with full concentration, but when he heard the word ant, all of his vigilance flew away as he snorted looking at him as said.

“So you mean there are big ants inside the fog? How big are they? Was its bigger than your’s?”

The others behind him started laughing at that. They clearly understood what their vice captain was implying there, but just under toned insults were enough for him, as he started bashing him verbally.

“Just look at this fucker! Crying and sobbing because of a little ant. Pathetic!”

While the behavior of their vice captain couldn’t have been any clearer, one man shouted back with full poise and reverence in his voice.

“Don’t worry sir, I will go and investigate the matter and see..” He glanced at the cowering old man disdainfully and completed his sentence, “What kind of a monster lurks inside the fog!”

The others behind him started laughing again, as he waved his hand and went inside the fog. Everything would have been alright if he had come back, but the thing is, he didn’t. Though he himself didn’t come back, but a sound of metal clanging and a horse voice of someone chocking did.

*Clunch*  *Thud*   *krush* *-rsh* *-rsh*

And after that came a very light sound of some falling on the ground and something getting dragged on the ground.

Those sounds horrified the old man even more, as he started shouting and crying with his snot covered face.

“They are here, they are here!!”

He couldn’t have been any clearer with his words, but before he could say anything else, something wrapped around his leg.

“Huh?!” Was the only thing he said after that because that something lifted his leg, lifted him along with it and dragged him back into the fog midst his long scream, which eventually stopped just seconds later.

The person at the front couldn’t understand at first what had just happened, but when the sound of metal clanging, a soft thud and something getting dragged came again, blood drained from his face and he started backing away.

Consider his bad luck or wrong choice to join the gang of thugs, but there was no room behind him. They were crawling in a narrow w tunnel after all.

“Back, back, go back! There is something inside the fog. Go back! Go back!”

He was screaming at the top of his voice trying to hurry up and return back, but his sudden movements only made him face yelling and pushing of angry and frustrated men behind him.

“Huh, what… What are you suddenly saying? Just hurry up and go out of the tunnel already!”

“Get the hell out already! DO you think we want to stay inside this narrow tunnel, huh? Fucking move your ass and make way for us to come out, you bitch!”

“Who the fuck is stopping the line, huh? Move on you fucker.”

All kind of curses started flying his way and the people behind him started pushing him towards the exit of the narrow tunnel. Though the men behind him didn’t see, but how could he have already forgotten about someone getting dragged into the fog.

“Believe me there is something in the cave! LISTEN TO ME!!”

His shout had no real effect and instead it angered the mass even more. All the people were going to curse him to death when something happened.

He, who was trying to convince the people to not send him out of the tunnel and to his death and noticed everyone getting quite in an instant. He saw the men directly in front of his eyes trembling and understood that something bad had happened. He wanted to look back to see what was going on, but in the end he didn’t need to completely turn around. He moved his head to see back and saw that there were two giant mandibles’ hanging around his neck, trapping his life between them and he was sure that if he moved even just a little, then the scissors of death would close and take his life with away.

But the thing is he was wrong. They weren’t waiting for him to move, but their orders and

*Snap*

Before he could move out and away from the clutches of the reaper, death clutched its grip on his neck and his head flew in arc, collided with the ceiling and fell in front of the person behind him.

Silence plagued the tunnel. No one said anything in that moment, but then one man shrieked and the, the explosion of girly screams in manly voices flooded the tunnel in no time. Everyone started crawling back to save their lives, but how could the ants have let them do that, moreover, after getting the kill order from their master.

The chest of the now headless man bursted into small pieces as two spears came out and flew towards the rest of them.

The spears came fast and came from a blind spot created by the deceased fellow, so no one even saw them coming. By the time the first person noticed the headless body getting torn to pieces one of the spears had already neared him.

One of the metal spears entered the mouth of the person behind the headless man. It entered his mouth, came out from his neck and entered the eye of the person directly behind him.

It continued on its path and continued the massacre, and entered the eyes and mouths of three people before stopping just in front of a bewildered black spike haired young man in his twenties.

He first couldn’t understand what just happened, but the calamity wasn’t over yet.

Miraculously he didn’t die from the attack of that spear and neither did the other spear even touch him, as it passed over his head and struck the man behind him.

The second spear formed an arc and heavily nailed two people to the ground, as its power made paste out of them.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

He took a long deep breath of relief when he saw that he had somehow escaped the calamity, but he didn’t knew one very important thing.

The spears were a skill of the cruelest ant currently on the hunt and his spears had the option to auto return.  He sighed and the spear in front returned and took with it the three persons in which it was stuck in, but then a thought hit him.

‘Then wont the second spear also return?!’

His thought was right, but his reaction speed wasn’t good enough to take any action. The second spear came out of the ground entered his behind and came out of his mouth, it flew into the fog and took his lifeless body away with it.

Why would the ants suddenly attack the humans, when Rocky was just testing his illusions?

Because Minie had gotten bored of waiting for them to come out and die one by one. NO, actually it was too tiring to wait like that, so they decided to act.

Just as the humans started clamoring, the fog started dissipating. They at first thought that maybe the danger had subsided and they were safe now, but they were wrong. The fog subsided and the real face of terror came in front of them.

Four monster ants. Yes Four, because the fifth one didn’t even look like an ant at all. It was too… monsterish.

“AHH!!”

“Monsters!!”

“Run!”

“GO BACK, GO BACK!”

All possible sounds that can be made when one is scared to death were coming out of their mouths. Their leader was already very annoyed of crawling in the tunnel, but when his underlings started yelling and started pushing back, he got really irritated ad started cursing.

“The fuck are you all running back for? Move forwards you damn imbeciles.”

But who was scarier, an angry human or five monster Ants? Damm right, they started cursing back at him when he tried to slander them.

“You are fucking impotent.”

“You enunch”

“Die on your own, don’t fucking drag us along with you.”

His underlings flared and cursed the hell out of him, while pressuring him to move back.

Pepsicus had big dreams for his small, but organized little party. He knew that even though his men weren’t powerful enough, but they were daring enough to kill others when needed. Though it was not easy to take control of them, but he still did. They followed his orders and he provided them with enough to live by and he thought that they were loyal to him, but he was wrong about their loyalty.

They followed him because he was powerful and they didn’t leave him because he killed everyone who tried to leave. The word to be used isn’t loyal, but afraid; they were afraid of him. Afraid that he would kill them too if they didn’t answers his questions politely, afraid that if anyone who talked back would also be taken care of politely, so they endured and to endure his deviant self became like a second nature to them.

But every dam has a limit after which it breaks and that is what happened to them, their dam of patience broke in the face of death and flooded on his face

‘Why are they suddenly rebelling?’ he thought, but his question were automatically answered when he looked past them to see monsters waiting for them to come out of the tunnel and noticed the pool of blood and mangled pieces of flesh and organs at the exit of the cave.

He wasn’t a daring man to start with. He was a coward. His entire life he had leeched from others and gotten stronger, but his nature was easily found out by his original party and he was kicked out because of it. After that started his month full of solo play in which he could only increase his level by 5 and became bankrupt. He hated them, he hated his old party members, but he didn’t think of taking revenge. Instead of that he collected, thugs, mugger, petty humans, killer’s and started his own organization. Though the members weren’t strong, but he was satisfied, satisfied that he was able to push around other people, get his work done and earn money without moving a finger.

His life flashed in front of his eyes as he screamed.

“Heeeeeee” And started crawling backwards.

Because there was no one behind him he thought that the others would be able to buy him enough time to leave the tunnel and go out of the cursed cave, but no.

He turned around and before he could started crawling he noticed a huge pole standing just outside the tunnel. His brows furrowed because he didn’t remember anything like that while entering inside, but then his whole body shivered and he started trembling because the pole had suddenly moved.

The pole moved and a Gi-fucking-Gantic eyes took its place and looked inside the tunnel. He saw the eye reflecting back his visage like a mirror and blood drained from his face.

The eye was so huge that the entrance was completely covered by it, but then it moved and an even bigger open mouth took its place. That mouth was so deep that he couldn’t even see its end.

He saw fire dancing inside the opened mouth and his soul left his body. No, he didn’t actually die, but his face became pale enough to scare ghosts away. No scream came out of his throat, no roar come from the devil waiting outside the tunnel, but it was enough. The fear of such a monster waiting outside to greet and play with him was enough to make him subconsciously retreat backwards

He didn’t even give another look behind at the open mouth because he knew that there was only death waiting for him there.

‘At least I can somehow handle the ants waiting inside the room, but how would I handle that?’ He thought and his mouth started firing profanities out of dread of getting eaten alive by that monster.

“Move forward, move forwards. You fuckers move, let me go! Let me go!”

When his vice captains saw him behaving like that, at first they thought that their leader wanted to fight with the monsters to save them, but when they turned around to look at his heroic face… They forget about his bravery in a second and started crawling towards the exit too.

“Oh! Leader y…. Move, move you fuckers, step aside let us pass, you fuckers.”

It wasn’t one or two, but all and every one of them was saying the same thing and repeating the same lines. After all, who isn’t afraid of being chewed alive, who isn’t afraid of being pierced to death from their behind…

Ahem… they were simply taking action for their survival, but

On the other hand, someone was having fun watching them act like clowns.

“Haaha… that is cruel, so cruel. At first I thought you were going to finish them in one go when you removed the illusion, but then, Haaha… you are so cruel, but it is benefiting us too, so it’s all good.”

“Yeah, I just acted on whim, but the results it is showing are too good to be true. Who said low leveled people can’t help me getting loaded? These fishes are all superbly playing their roles.”

This is what really happened.

After Rocky saw that his plan to silently kill all of them failed, he removed the illusion and hurriedly went towards the entrance and seeing that no was looking he cleverly set upped another illusion there.

Yes, the gigantic queen at the front was nothing other than an illusion created by him on a whim to stop the humans from running back, but the profit which that whim made for them was too great to be true.

After the humans had entered the dungeon Rocky started receiving a constant influx of 100 Dc per hour, but the situation changed when the people near the exit saw their associates getting killed.

At that time the influx of credits per hour increased to 300Dc. Just scarring them increased the total worth of those worthless humans by that much, but that wasn’t the end. The profits increased from hundreds to thousands when the queen appeared and by the time first person ran out of the tunnel and toward the ants; Rocky and Minie had already gained a total of 890 Dc.

Was the amount huge? It was even greater than that. If they had just killed each and every single one of them, then at most they would have gotten somewhere near 1000Dc out of them, but now they were getting loaded.

The cat and mouse game of them humans going back and forth in the tunnel continued for two hours. While a lot of them were still alive by that time, but each time someone got pushed outside the tunnel only death waited for him and when others thought that the ants only killed those who went outside, the ants would enter the tunnel and drag one of them outside to instill fear in their hearts.

By the time two more hours passed, only eight of them were alive inside the tunnel. The rest got throw or dragged out of the tunnel and obliviously the strongest of them their leader was alive and kicking and so were his vice captains.

By this time Rocky’s mana was running on fumes, so it was time to end it once and for all.

An addition of 3280Dc to their total amount was enough after all.

“You were right Minie, you were right. It is so easy to earn money illegally, I mean by doing wrong to the society. But I can’t go on anymore so let’s end this.”

“Sure, I was just waiting for you to say that.”

And the ants entered the tunnel. Four of them entered and midst the crying and screams of eight grown men, they dragged out four men and killed two and obviously the leader was also dragged out by them.

Rocky had already killed the man whom they had captured before, and this leader was going to replace him and become their prisoner.

No fight took place, no battle happened. Everything was handled smoothly and Buffy didn’t even have to lift his antennae though he used his antennas at the start to instill fear in their hearts, but nothing entertaining happened.

The ants dragged them out and Buffy beheaded or pierced them, while the ones left in the tunnel were also dragged and killed by the worker ants.

“Sigh... now what?”

“I don’t know. Let’s torture our first captive.”

“Okay.”

They were going to use some of their techniques on him, but then the god’s musical rhapsody rang inside the dungeon and took their attention away.
