"Why is it so cold today?"

Waking up in the morning and finding it's colder than usual days it bit weird. It wasn't even this cold last night. 

I grabbed my phone to check on time, surprisingly enough it's shows 8:30 AM. Which means even though it's day time there is no sunlight coming from the windows. 

*Sigh...*

"Got to wake up, no choice I guess...", since, classes are from 9:30 AM, I've to wake up. I've been slacking off classes with project as an excuse. Need to catch up my minimum attendance. 

" ...Maybe, i'll skip today's breakfast as well. Not feeling good today and not to mention I don't have time to spare.", 

This University life is nothing but trouble. It's far from anything we saw in movies. Just want to graduate soon and have a slow life in some remote area.

Exiting the house, I saw thick cloud of fog all around the streets. No matter where I turned to look, it's the same in each and every direction. 

"I can't even see anything at this point."

Walking a bit into the fog, I started feeling more and more weird. At this point I realized something is weird. Even though it's hard to see in this fog, I didn't heard anyone passing by on this streets. No sound of the cars as well.

"Let me check the group chat."

Taking out my phone, I saw a bunch of notifications of my classmates complaining about being ill and asking for leave.

"What's happening?", almost all of them are ill suddenly today. Is this a prank for mass bunk?... Scrolling the chat, it seems like even teachers are also suggesting for a leave today. 

"I've been walking for a while. Should I return back?", there is definitely no point in attending class of empty students today. Wouldn't it will be wise of me to just return back home?

"AAhhh... "

While thinking about return, suddenly I heard a scream of a little girl towards the left in direction. Even though, finally hearing someone's voice is incredible, It's even hard to pin point with this much fog around me. "I should go and at least check ... "

Walking towards the sound, I can barely see a silhouette of a kid stuck on a tree.

Since when there was a tree this big on the side of the road?

Putting my backpack down, I started climbing the tree. "Hold on kid, I might be able to save you." 

*Pant...*

"Why is this tree this long and why did I never noticed this tree before?"

Climbing little by little every second, I reach the top of the branches where the kid is stuck. 

"Seriously, why are you climbing trees in middle of the cold and foggy weather?"

Getting up close to the little girl, I realized everything is weird about this event. It is now confirmed, this day is weird from the day it starts.

The little girl I'm trying to save is not human, she have a long ears like elves??
