Break. Epilogue

Break. Epilogue

A smile had graced my face as I soared through the Break, orbiting the rings of Saturn. There was almost no prana left. I was aware that my end was near, yet my smile remained genuine.

I had done it.

I had found the right Door!

The World was safe.

Maya, Zanh Kiem, Claire, Christian, Halley, and all the rest would not perish in the flames of the End of the World.

What was one life compared to such an outcome?

As I prepared to close my eyes for the final time, a gust from the nearly closed Door, stirred by an angel's wing, lifted me and hurled me into a portal, briefly opening behind me.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

"Thank you, my Knight!" The fiery letters appeared before my eyes, traced by the angel's wing as it departed this reality forever.

I scarcely had time to read the message before I was thrown back into the real world, plunging into the sea. The water instantly closed over my head. The decayed plates of Metatron, having endured far more than they were designed to, peeled off my body and sank slowly into the ocean's depths.

With a great deal of effort, battling against the treacherous current, I surfaced. I then swam towards the not-so-distant shore, managing to reach the rocky beach on shaky legs in mere ten minutes. It was the same shore, nicknamed the Beach of Broken Skulls by the students.

A young girl, utterly exhausted, sat on the rocks near the water, her head in her hands.

I approached and laid my hand on Maya's shoulder. Our eyes met... And I realized that everything I had done, everything I had achieved, absolutely everything was worth this exact moment!

End of the Story.
