My friends were ready and excited and before I knew it, I already saw them clicking away at the screens checking which classes they wanted. They were super excited about this whole save the world thing. We were the typical newbie adventure group. We didn't know the cost and sacrifice of being heroes yet and at this point we still thought everything was fun and games.
"Sweet, I got my class already. I'm going to be a paladin, I suppose that's like a holy knight or something like that. I'm good with both healing and attack with light magick and at higher levels I'll be able to summon angels." Said Monroe. "I can't wait to see what the rest of your classes are going to be like.
Well damn, I thought to myself. That's Monroe for you always the quick thinker always jumped right to action

[Healing touch- This ability can be leveled with the user, however this is used to cure diseases of the mind and body whatever plagues the target of the magick and this is usually done by establishing a firm connection with the target first and gaining their trust, then placing a person's hand gently upon the afflicted area and visualizing the energy from the user going to the wound. Also works for channeling negative status affects out of the body by channeling the negative status effect out of the body. This is a Cantrip and is a unique skill of the paladin class."

"So you got a unique class like Alex." I mused, "That's just like you too, to play the knight in shining armor. You don't have a hard on for punishing people who go against the lawful alignment now do you?" I asked him curious about how a change in class could change how we viewed ourselves and each other.
"Wait, I almost forgot to equip the items. So... how do I look?" Monroe asked me while equipping his Paladin Armor and Long sword. He was posturing resting both of his hands on his long sword with arms resting by his side. His long sword went up to just above his waist line and his armor consisted of huge shoulder and chest plates that were shining golden in color.
"Damn, I look good. Just like how I pictured I would look when wearing this stuff. Except this isn't cosplay, hell I got the sense that I know this is real." Said monroe.
"It feels good, it feels really good like I'm really coming into myself." Said monore. "Don't I look like prince charming?" He asked.
"Nothing's changed from the same old understanding and tolerant Monroe that we all know and love has it?" I asked him this fully knowing what assholes some paladins could be. I wondered half knowing that nothing had changed about him from the smile that he gave back to me in response.
He had changed a little bit though, he seemed a bit taller and a bit more confidant with just a little more muscle mass. The little bit of fluff that he had seemed to have vanished leaving in it's place someone who looked like they could take on the forces of evil singlehandedly.
"Nope, not really, as far I can tell I'm the same old Monroe Sanderson you knew from grade school." Says Monroe, "Although, I do feel a slight bit stronger in general and I have some new gear too.
"Hey Monroe isn't the only one that just decided their class. I got one too. I'm going to be a holy guardian class. I think it's a generalist class that focuses mostly on defense but when the levels go up I'm told I could probably go for either crusader or templar and to be honest I've always wanted to be a crusader and I usually play them in most VRMMOs I've played." Exclaimed Jacques excited to have chosen his class.
"That's a support class. You don't mind being support for now?" I asked Jacques knowing that he'd basically just chosen to be a damage sponge with some attack capabilities for the team.
"Nah, I don't mind being support for you and Monroe since you know I've always been a best man, best friend type of guy. I know enough about myself to know I'm the type that can be the main character if he wants to be but also know enough about myself to know that my true qualities shine through when playing support for the rest of the team." Says Jacques.
"Thanks for doing this man. We owe you one." Said Monroe. "I'm glad you came through and decided to play this vital role for our team. I don't know what we would do without you."
"Yeah, I've been planning to pick up a class like this ever since we were told we could choose classes like in an RPG game and low and behold it was right there under one of the specialty classes for me. I'm sure just as Paladin was for you. Since you know you've always been the princely type." Said Jacques.
"Thanks man it'll be a real honor to fight by your side." I said happy with the role that Jacques had chosen.
"Oh yeah, sorry to kill the mood but here's my status sheet. You can see that I'll be a pretty durable guardian given where the majority of skill points are allocated.

[Barrier of Protection- Creates a Barrier of protection either around a party member or around the whole party. Nullifying Physical damage and halving magical damage. This ability is considered a Cantrip when used for a single target and can be used infinitely. The barrier itself takes 100 damage to shatter and thus will be useful when dealing with dungeon mobs. The version of this ability that affects the whole party is not a cantrip and can only be used three times a day. This version offers protection for the entire party and can take 200 damage which makes this ability effective for dealing with dungeon bosses. This ability levels up with the player.]
[Barrier Armor- Creates an barrierarmor aroudn the guardian so that he may use his own body for defending against the enemies that his party encounters. This Barrier armor increases dexterity and endurance by 2.0 times and is able to instantly nullify most physical attacks and halfs attacks that deal magical damage. Effective as long as the players health does not drop below zero.]
[Stone Spike Row- An area of effect ability for the holy guardian class members with an additional earth element, this creates a row of stone spikes that erupt from the floor damaging enemies in a row front to back. This ability is useful when defending an area or when someone needs an area affect that can reach behind enemy lines.
[Moon's Reflection- A phyiscally reflective attack that allows the holy guardian class to reflect all magic directed at another target. The holy guardian himself becomes invulnerable during the duration of this skill and can only be used three times per day. However, this skill is guaranteed to reflect any and all magic back at the caster who is targetting his allies but only for one spell. Effectively rendering that spell not only useless but deadly to the one who cast it.]
[Healing Sun- This is an area of affect ability and a cantrip particular to holy guardians with an aptitude for sun magick. This is an area of affect ability that allows those in the users immediate facility to heal at the rate of 10 HP per half hour.]

"This is mostly a tank class. You only have one attack skill." I said shocked.
"Well then, I'm just going to have you Alex and Monroe to back me up, plus with muscles like these I don't think I'll have too much of a problem dealing damage to the opponent with just the sword and shield that they gave to me with this class.
"Well let me equip my armor and see how I look after that." Said Jacques excited.
With that he was adorned with the same bright shining light that had previously adorned Alex and Monroe and when the light faded Jacques emerged as his new holy guardian version. Not only did Jacques now have the athletic build of some amatuer bodybuilders thick and taught with muscles he looked like he could defend an entire village from monsters in his silver looking full plate guardian's armor. He could definitely defend the party with the shield that seemed to cover his entire person and with a hammer that was as long at least half his height.
"Yep, this is exactly how I thought I would look as a guardian." Said Jacques with a cheery smile on his face.
"I don't know about you" said Jacques "But I think it's pretty evident that I can take care of myself."
"So Rein, what class are you going to get?" Said Jacques wondering.
"Yeah, I mean for someone like you I would definitely recommend a knight class like me. Although, I suppose something like bard would also suit you." Monroe said conscendingly. Ah I see, the Paladin assholenessnes is already starting to kick in.
Just flipping wonderful. I could see though it was just a small joke made at my expense and that Monroe was still the same Monroe we all knew and loved. He was always a little bit like this wasn't he I thought to myself. I saw how bright and cheer-ey his smile was and how he was looking me over with anticipation.
"Come on big brother, don't keep us in suspense." Said Alex. I just want to clarify one thing. Big brother was just what he called me and little brother was what I had called him. We had no biological connection. Not in the human world at least. As for our Fenris Wolf selves, that was a different story. My entire friend group was my family.
I'm wondering what type of class I'll be able to get. Maybe it's going to be something heroic like barbarian or something along those lines." I said.
"I think a berserker would definitely suit our fearless leader." Said Jacques only being half sarcastic. "Afterall, you were always somewhat of a knuckle head. It's just going to be permanently brought out now."
"Yeah Rein, I definitely think a class focused on smashing things with an ax or a sword would definitely be up your alley just like your friend Monroe here." Said Monroe pointing to himself excitedly.
"I actually think Big Brother would look pretty cool as a berserker." Said Alex thinking about what I would be like as a berserker.
"Plus we need a focused DPS" said Jacques giving the rational reason as for why I should end up a berserker.
Thanks asshole I thought. Well honestly, jokes aside that seems like a class that would be just perfect for me. Plus, I would be strong enough to deal the big damage to the enemies we were facing and strong enough to defend myself.
Yeah definlintely a berserker would most certainly be cool. I continued thinking to myself. I had grown up watch re-runs of hercules, He-man, thundercats and many other shows and they always had one thing in common.
They always had a barbarian as the main protagonist someone that wasn't quite smart but had a heart a good one and the tenacity to see everything through to the end.
I thought that something along the lines of barbarian or berserker would be just perfect for someone like me. Afterall, what good was Magic when you ran out of MP. It's better to be able to hit something really really hard. Also, in most JRPGs the knight classes which the berserker and barbarian classes were a part of they were

Everyone around me looked super enthused it was almost as if we were asking them to make their ideal selves and they all loved the fact that now they could live out their dreams as fantasy heroes.

[Warrior/Berserker- Berserker is a special class that is available solely to you. You have a natural knack for riling people up so why not yourself. Berserker gives you a huge boost to speed, strength, endurance and dexterity and anything that has to do with physical stats but only for a limited amount of time. This isn't to be laughed at though. Your individual stats increase by 2.5 times that amount when under Berserker Rage.]
Sweet, I'd always wanted to play a berserker class, altough I wasn't really sure what this berserker rage entailed and if it would really be good for me, but even becoming that powerful for a brief minute would be something I would relish even for just a little bit.
This was right on the money for me, just the class I had been looking for although I was slightly unsure about this berserker rage deal. I wondered if it was simply a stat multiplier that could increase my stats many times over for the brief period of the berserker rage or if I would be driven insane by the berserker ability.
Berserkers I had seen in the old norse definition of the term had been terrifying losing all grasp of sanity and being reduced to the mentality of an fearsome animal. Usually, a wolf or a bear or something along those lines. They would attack friends and foes alike and would bite down on their shields to cause them to be even more Fury.
[Berserker Rage- While you can still talk and still distinguish friend from foe unlike the berserkers of yore who injested magical plants and herbs to induce their berserk state, you'll enter a mode where the only thing you'll be able to think about is battle and defeating your foes. You won't be particularly nice to allies in this mode either especially not when they get in your way.[

Thanks, I thought that I wanted this class but I needed to think about this a little bit more. Alright let's hear the rest I thought.
[Mage/Warlock- This class allows you to start learning the ways of the mystic arts and also allows you one free cantrip manaless spell that you can cast at any time as your main form of defense. From this humble starting point you will be able to learn all different forms of magic. Warlock is another more specialized version of this class and it is also available to you due to your magical hertiage]
This class sounded alright to me too. I've always played mages in most RTS games I played like LoL and SMITE and I was thinking that if Berserker wasn't right for e I could try to be a mage like Alex. Still, I really wanted to be a knight class like Monroe. I knew that mages were supposed to be really squishy when their magick didn't land and I didn't want to be anything like that.
Still, there were mages that were nigh-invincible demi-gods. I've read about some of them in the fantasy books I always bought, well they were technically wizards but I assumed I could level up the mage class into a wizard class as soon as possible.
The warlock class also seemed interesting to me. What magical heritage I thought to myself. One of my aunts had practiced some sort of magick but she always said she had practiced what was known as "white magick." And she had often referred to herself as a Christian Mage. Certainly she wasn't nothing as dark as what the classification of warlock would require.
Becoming a warlock I thought to myself doing that would probably require a lot of hardwork and study as well as maybe selling my soul to a few demons which I probably shouldn't have been doing if we were supposed to be the chosen ones or chosen few.
With that I realized that the Magical classes probably wasn't for me and I passed on it so that I could get another starting class.
[Archer/Ranger- You'll be able to fire volleys of arrows from the enemy from a distance and even though you won't be on the front lines you'll still be an indispensible part of the party. I see that you've already met Confidence and Ferocity. If you choose this path you'll be able to communicate with more nature spirits, power animals and animal spirit guides and let them guide your arrows so that they fly true and to flee quickly away from enemies. In addition at higher levels you'll be able to summon and command animals in battle for you such as wolves and bears.]
The next on my list was archer/ranger. I did like Legolas from Lord of the Rings but he wasn't exactly the main character. No that would be Aragon another warrior type character.
I liked Link from the Legend of Zelda, I thought to myself thinking back to the poorly packaged wii game Link's crossbow training as well as the rest of the massively popular and highly rated masterpieces that were the rest of the Legend of Zelda series. Although, thinking back on it Link was probably closer to the elven version of a paladin like Monroe and certainly wasn't exclusively an archer class.
What about tomb raider or god forbid katniss everdeen, they used bows but they were more survivalists that were up against the forces of nature as well as their fellow man and we'd be battling god knows what monstrousities.

With that my decision was all but made for me. I would be a Blood Berserker.
