“I can understand wanting to be there for your friend but sneaking your way out of curfew and skipping lessons isn’t the way to go about it.”
The fierce foursome had been marched into the principal’s plush office by the tense security guards of the school, Gwyn imagined they had been severely punished for letting them escape.
Probably just pay cuts and reprimands rather than the executions she’d been imagining.
They had also been tramped past the young female secretary outside the principal’s office, who Gwyn had met once before not that long ago, this time as she took in the woman’s infuriating smirk Gwyn was tempted to smash her teeth in and make her swallow them.
Inside of herself was a flame of rage that threatened to explode into a conflagration of pissed off energy.
“Gwynnestri dear, I’m sorry to hear about your mother. I’m glad you weren’t caught up in that madness.”
Gwyn was brought back into the moment by the smooth voice of the principal, she had a look of sympathy that Gwyn appreciated but didn’t want. Anything that reminded her of her mother just served to enrage her some more.
“Don’t be, she was a bitch.” Gwyn bit out, the words felt like razors in her mouth.
Myra Godheart was taken aback by Gwyn's sudden proclamation, blinking quizzically at her student. She did recover enough to lightly scold her “language Gwynnestri” which drew an amused and fond smile to Gwyn’s lips.
“Sorry Miss Godheart, can you please just call me Gwyn.”
“Gwyn then. If you need someone to talk to, my door is always open, and didn’t I ask you to call me Myra?” Myra softly teased her.
The rest of her friends were surprised by Gwyn's familiarity with the principal, despite only really meeting the principal once before Gwyn liked the mature woman. Maybe it was the soft voice that held that teasing edge to it, or maybe it was the fact that it felt like the mature woman saw her as one of hers; her student, her people.
“You other three are in big trouble however. Granted, there were extenuating circumstances but discipline needs to be upheld,” Myra held each of the girls with a piercing gaze that quelled any complaints, “as such you three will be aiding me in organizing several upcoming projects in your after hours, I’ll hear no complaining about it, understand?”
“Yes Principal Godheart.” Each of the girls sullenly chimed together.
The domineering principal gestured for all of them to leave, however Gwyn wanted to inform her about what was happening in her school “Myra may I talk to you for a moment?”
The others looked askance at her, questioning her decision still.
“I’ll be fine, you can wait out in the hall for me, trust me.” Gwyn unfairly leveled a soft smile at them.
Reluctantly they left her alone with the principal.
Once they had left Gwyn infused her voice with Charming Request before speaking to Myra.
“Myra, I'd like you to believe me for a moment.”
The ability caught on easily, it seemed to Gwyn that Myra was perfectly willing to believe her without her use of her skill, she always had time to listen to her students. For some reason that fact shook Gwyn more than she was expecting.
Gwyn watched her particularly close as she spun her tale, keeping an eye on anything that would show her as their enemy.
When she told her about the nano-machine orb that crashed into the school Myra scowled heavily and looked to want to speak but managed to hold herself back. Gwyn told her about the mercenaries that were set upon her and that scowl turned murderous like a dragon just finding out some thief went after their gold.
She powered through talking about her mother’s betrayal, only holding back on telling her who exactly killed Eve Morven as she didn’t trust her that much.
Gwyn did have to stifle a small laugh when Myra turned and dumped Gwyn’s mother’s work off her bookshelf with a huff of anger.
By the time Gwyn’s tall tale came to an end there was a war of emotions on Myra’s face; anger, sadness, affection, sympathy but most powerfully of all was a deep possessiveness.
Gwyn was right to liken the amber-haired woman to a dragon.
She was surprised when Myra stood from her seat and rounded the table, Gwyn found herself terrified. Not scared because she felt that Myra would hurt her but just the opposite, there was such rich all-encompassing concern in the amber dragon’s eyes in a way Gwyn had never seen directed at her before.
Her friends cared for her in a different way, this was what she had seen between other mother’s and their daughters and it frightened Gwyn.
She didn’t want to desire something so badly again.
It wasn’t Gwyn’s choice to make as she wrapped in a warm motherly hug, that left the Green-haired girl shaking in those comforting arms. Slow hiccups began bubbling up as her heart ached so much.
A sharp quill dropped from quaking fingers and clattered unnoticed on the floor.
“You’ve been through a lot, it’s ok. Shhh, I’m here for you Gwyn.”
Gwyn clung desperately to the motherly figure as if she had finally found something to keep her from sinking as she drifted out at sea. Her hiccuping sobs soaked Myra’s blouse with snot and tears but she didn’t care, she only soothed the tearful girl as the emotions poured from her.

“There there, let it all out.”
Myra led the clingy girl to a couch on the side of the room, allowing Gwyn to collapse onto it as her shaking legs were unable to hold her anymore.
“Would you like your friends to come back in?” Myra gently asked as Gwyn’s tears subsided leaving reddened eyes.
While deeply embarrassed Gwyn did want to see her friends so she gave a shy nod and collected herself the best she could.
She barely noticed as they tramped back in.
When they saw her they raised their hackles, glaring suspiciously at the principal but Gwyn was able to calm them down before they got into more trouble. Myra just watched this unfold with faint fond amusement.
“I suppose I’ll revise your punishments in light of this troubling new information.” Myra stated as she tapped her red lips.
“We’re still being punished?” Marion complained.
The principal leveled a disapproving look at her “of course, we must have rules but I’ve decided to have you help me look into these disruptions to my school.”
Once again the pure possessiveness radiated from the amber haired dragon.
“Whoever decided to use my school for whatever foul things they are planning will deeply regret it”

Unfortunately just because they had secured the principal as an ally in their search it didn’t mean they got to skip classes, everyone had been hoping otherwise.
Gwyn did have the rest of the week off technically but she was stolen away and sequestered in Myra’s office, as she hadn’t been joking about her tutorship. However much to her relief and slight confusing disappointment there was no inappropriate activities as she had teasingly implied earlier.
Gwyn's emotions were spun up like a twister, she didn’t know what she wanted out of this companionship. She didn’t think of her as a maternal replacement as Eve had never been as nurturing as Myra was to her, but she hoped deep down.
Was Myra becoming someone she’d kill for?
She didn’t know but she finally had someone to fill that parental role that had been left unfilled for so long, she silently wept for an mortifyingly long time the first time she was praised for doing well.
Myra just held her through it, humming as she stroked Gwyn’s green locks.
Other than being wonderful to Gwyn’s emotional health she was a surprisingly good teacher, Math was finally fun and understandable now. Gwyn finally had a teacher who didn’t act like they ate babies.
The others weren’t so lucky as Miss Grimhold had been in a foul mood all week, she had been handing out punishments like the sweetest of candy at any slight to her tyranny.
Gwyn was instantly suspicious.
It was possible that Miss Grimhold was just a spiteful hag but she could be in league with whoever wanted the nano-machine system.
Either way Marion had been assigned to investigate.
Say what you wanted about the grumpy woman but Gwyn didn’t think she was dumb enough to leave anything incriminating lying around, still if it was there, Marion would persist until she found it.
Who knows? Maybe they’d get lucky.

Gwyn hummed discontentally as she lay her head upon Cécilia lap, for the last three days the quartet had nothing to show for their snooping. Marion had found nothing in Miss Grimhold’s room and Cécilia herself still had no luck with the security station, the tapes had been wiped by a suspiciously timed blackout.
Now they were just waiting for Marion's return from the staff common room, she had said she had an idea about where she could look.
Whoever it was that had planned the orb’s crash landing had been keeping a low profile, Gwen had felt eyes upon her however since she had returned. She couldn’t be sure if it was just because of the rumors around her mother's death or something more nefarious.
A gentle kiss upon her lips disturbed her thoughts, upon turning her eyes upwards she was met with the amused eyes of Tatiana. The girls had ended up cuddling together on her bed in the dorms, they had unanimously voted to stay together so as to not be caught alone at night.
It did mean there were a lot of playful activities when they got bored.
They were split up most of the day so they took these moments to reconnect and just hang out, chilling together. Case in point Tatiana had snuck up on Gwyn and Cécilia to tenderly attack them with kisses.
The stress of the situation had been getting to them so they decided to go on another group date over the weekend, provided of course that nothing majorly crazy happened.
Just as Gwyn got ready to pounce on the pair and deliver her more powerful kisses Marion burst through the door waving a shredded document that had been taped together.
“I got it!”
Tatiana straightened up at the declaration and hurried over to the blonde. Gwyn was caught between excitement over the information and exasperation with Marion for ruining the burgeoning carnal moment. In the end she settled on excitement.
“Well? Tell us!” Tatiana practically ordered the stalling blonde.
Marion smirked at the demanding girl “I found the work roster for the night of the crash landing orb, they tried to get rid of it in the trash but I’m one dedicated girl.”
Now that she mentioned it Marion stunk something awful.
Tatiana clamped a hand over her nose as she stole the document with her other “Get in the shower! I won’t have you stinking up my pillows!” she began shoving the girl out of the room towards the dorm showers.
“I’m going! Sheesh, does anyone want to join me?” Marion wiggled her eyebrows at the group.
“Maybe if you weren’t so stinky” Cécilia delivered a fatal strike which had the spy dramatically fleeing.
Gwyn giggled fondly at their antics which turned to squeals as Cécilia began to tickle her mercilessly.
Eventually Marion returned fresh and clean and once again broke up an amorous moment as she flopped down on the bed, dislodging Cécilia hands from under Gwyn’s shirt.
Tatiana had in the meanwhile had been pouring over the schedule before letting out a “got you!” The three cuddling girls turned to the her at that.
“Well?” Cécilia huffed as she was denied her allotted heavy petting.
“Patrick Pine. He was the groundskeeper that was meant to be patrolling that night.”
“Pine?” Marion asked in amusement.
“It’s what it says.” Tatiana just shrugged in reply.
“So what? We find him and gently persuade him to let us know who he works for or who put him up to it?” Gwyn asked the pacing dark haired girl.
“As a first step, yes, if we can deal with whoever is behind this we can get back to our lives.”
“And go on our date.” Cécilia spoke from beside Gwyn.
“That too.” Tatiana blushed at the reminder.
“Great, now get in bed. It’s getting cold.” Marion opened up the covers beside her which Tatiana scurried into, she elbowed her way into prime position in the center to much complaining from the others as she had very pointy elbows.
