Alexander Dean, your average 16-year-old high school student.
No, he was not born with any superhuman abilities, but before we get to know HOW he got them, we need to know WHY?
Alex was your average 16-year-old high school student in his 1st year.
His father being an American and his mother being Japanese, Alex looked like an international student, taking his father’s side but had lived his life in Japan.
You can look at him and say, “Here’s someone who’s got no worries.” He had a good physique, light skin tone, and dark jet-black hair.
He also has blue eyes, which is normal for an American. With his father being a successful entrepreneur, money wasn’t a problem for him either.
All combined with good grades, and you have the right combination for Popularity. Also, he was not an asshole, not at the time, at least.
Naturally, popularity was a given. But as mentioned before, LIFE GOING TOO WELL!!!, now that’s suspicious.
It was in the late days of April. School had started when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom to indicate the start of a new beginning.
A week had passed, and the students were still deciding which club they should join. Alex had a lot of choices, with his athletic body and mental capabilities, he could join any club he wanted to.
In his middle school years, he joined the basketball and badminton club. In his second year, he joined the football and swimming club and in his third year, baseball and tennis, excelling in all of them.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
No matter which club he joined, it was always crowded, not because of the club members but of all the people who came to watch him, mostly being girls.
‘Have you decided which club you’re going to join?’
Yuuto entered the class finding Alex blankly looking out the window.
‘Not yet.’
‘Then stop sitting here idly, school is over.’
Yuuto sensed something was off, so he pulled a chair opposite to Alex and sat down.
‘Recently, I’ve been feeling a little exhausted, so maybe I’ll only join one club this year.’
‘If that’s what you want, however, you saying you feel tired is the first time I’ve heard it, and we’ve been friends since middle school.’
Alex passed a weak smile.
‘So which club you’re going to join?’
Yuuto still wanted to hear an answer.
‘Tennis, I think.’
‘Well, don’t push yourself too hard, anyway it’s hard to think it’s always a coincidence that we are always together in at least one club.’
Alex joined the tennis club, but he continued to feel off and couldn’t find the cause.
He was in the changing room, getting ready for practice. Exhausted for some reason, he sat down, staring at the ground.
‘Alex, you feeling okay?’
Yuuto, stood at the door looking Alex with concern.
‘Yeah, just a little weary, probably because I didn’t get much sleep last night.’
‘Again…’
Yuuto sighed.
‘You’re ruining your health yourself. Well, try to shake it off, your match is up.’
‘Don’t worry. I will’
The sun, still in the sky, shone brightly despite being the late afternoon. Its rays pierced Alex’s eyes like knives when he stepped out of the room, causing a sharp pain in his head.
--Don’t worry. It’s just a practice match. I’ll sleep my ass off when I get back home.
Alex entered the court, racket in hand.
Even though they haven’t begun playing, Alex was already sweating like they had been playing for two hours straight without any breaks.
Outside of the court was just about every girl in class who didn’t have a boyfriend cheering for Alex, not noticing his unusual tired movements and unexpected sweat.
The match had only gone on for 2 minutes that Alex collapsed, his body burning like crazy.
The game was put to a stop, and Alex was carried to the nurse’s office.
At first, it seemed like a normal fever, so Alex was discharged and was recommended a few days off from school.
