Chapter 9: scouting!

When a Filipino got Isekai'd with a twist! "Only I can summon those!!"

Chapter 9: scouting!

After my overwhelming victory against Yingston, a young noble from the elven kingdom. I and Princess Lyra go to the throne room to discuss with the king our plan on how to engage the demons. After we discuss our plan, I prepare myself to scout the area of activity of the said demons and why they're there. As I finish packing my gear, I hear a soft knock on the door. I turn to see Princess Lyra standing there, her expression a mix of concern and determination. The sunlight filters through the window, casting a warm glow around her, but I can sense the weight of the task ahead hanging in the air.

"Come in."

"Are you ready for this?" she asks, stepping into the room. Her voice is steady, but I can see the flicker of worry in her emerald eyes. "Scouting the demon activity is dangerous, and I can't help but feel uneasy about you going alone."

I pause for a moment, considering her words. "I appreciate your concern, Princess. But I believe it's crucial for me to gather information firsthand. We need to understand their movements and intentions if we're to devise an effective strategy."

Lyra nods, but I can tell she’s not entirely convinced. "I understand, but I wish you wouldn’t go without backup. The demons are unpredictable and stronger, and we don’t know what we’re up against. Perhaps I could accompany you?"

I shake my head gently. "Your place is here, rallying the troops and preparing the kingdom for what’s to come. If I can gather intelligence, it will give us a better chance to prepare for a larger confrontation. Besides, I have my skills and the element of surprise on my side. Besides, I'm this world's strongest summoner hero, remember?" I said with a wink.

She bites her lip, clearly torn. "Just promise me you'll be careful. If you find yourself in trouble, don’t hesitate to retreat. I...we can’t afford to lose you."

I smile, appreciating her concern. "I promise. I’ll be in and out before they even know I’m there. And I’ll return with the information we need."

System notification!

The princess of the land of the elves shows affection towards you. "For real, system, are you going to test me now? Fuck off," I said in my head and heard a scoff. What the fuck, for real, dude, did you just scoff? Are you supposed to be a system notification?"As I said that, Lyra moved closer to me. So I ignore the system for now. I'll come back to you later.

As Lyra steps closer, her gaze unwavering. "Then take this." She reaches into her satchel and pulls out a small, intricately carved amulet. "It’s a protective charm. It won’t make you invincible, but it might give you an edge if you encounter something unexpected."

I take the amulet from her hand, feeling the coolness of the metal against my palm. The craftsmanship is exquisite, with delicate engravings that shimmer in the light. "Thank you, Lyra—I mean, princess. This means a lot to me," I say, my voice sincere.

She smiles softly, but her eyes still betray her worry. "Just promise me you'll wear it. I want to know that you have something to protect you out there."

"I will," I assure her, fastening the amulet around my neck. The weight of it feels reassuring, a tangible reminder of her support. "Now, I really must get going. The sooner I gather this information, the sooner we can act. And one of Lyra's guards knocked and said, Sir hero, your horse is red! O… I… I'm so sorry, so sorry, sir, hero, Lady Lrya, ma'am, princess, I didn't mean to interrupt." He stammered as he slammed the door closed again. While I and Lyra can do is laugh. "Come on, you're going to send me off, right?" I tease her.

Lyra chuckles softly, the tension in the room easing just a bit. "Of course, I’ll send you off. You can’t go gallivanting into danger without a proper farewell, can you?" She steps back, her posture straightening as she adopts a more regal demeanor, though the warmth in her eyes remains.

I can’t help but grin at her playful seriousness. "Well, I wouldn’t want to leave without a royal send-off. What do you have in mind, Your Highness?"

She rolls her eyes, but a smile tugs at her lips. "How about a grand speech? ‘Brave hero, may the winds guide your path and the stars light your way!’"

I laugh, shaking my head. "I think I prefer something a bit more personal. Maybe just a simple ‘be safe’ would suffice," I said, and we walked out to my room, and at the gate, we stood there with all of their guards giving me a salute.

"Man, this is a bit awkward,(scratching my neck) I'm just gonna scout the demons I'm not gonna fight them for the last time."I jokingly said while shyly laughing.but king eldrin steps in and say.

"Sir hero, in our world this is common for our champions to have a proper send-off because there are times a champion wasn't able to come back, so please allow us to at least do this for you," he said, bowing.

"Welp, perhaps a proper send-off isn't going to hurt." I said, smiling.

As I stand before the gathered guards and the king, I feel a swell of pride mixed with a hint of embarrassment. The atmosphere is charged with a sense of purpose, and I can see the respect in their eyes. Princess Lyra stands beside me, her expression a blend of concern and admiration, and I place my hand in front of me, summoning my motorcycle. And hop in.

The motorcycle roars to life, its engine purring like a beast ready to be unleashed. The guards step back, their eyes wide with a mix of awe and confusion. I can’t help but chuckle at their reactions; it’s not every day they see a hero summon a machine of such power and speed.

"Remember, I’m just scouting!" I call out, raising my voice to be heard over the engine's growl. "I’ll be back before you know it!"

Princess Lyra steps forward, her expression softening as she looks at me. "Just be careful, okay? And don’t forget to use the amulet if you need it."

I nod, giving her a reassuring smile. "I won’t forget. And I’ll be back with the information we need. You’ll see."

With one last glance at the gathered crowd, I rev the engine, feeling the vibrations resonate through my body. The guards salute once more, and I can see King Eldrin’s proud smile as he watches me prepare to embark on this mission.

"Le'Go!!" I shout, and with a twist of the throttle, I launch forward, the motorcycle speeding out of the castle gates and into the open landscape beyond. The wind rushes past me, carrying away the weight of the moment and filling me with a sense of freedom.

As I navigate the winding paths through the elven forests, I can’t help but think about the task ahead. The demons have been a growing threat, and I need to understand their movements and intentions if we are to protect the kingdom. The trees blur past me, their leaves shimmering in the sunlight, and I feel a surge of determination.

"As I stop for a moment and look at my phone's map (yeah, he just summoned the free phone), it turns out he can use it like a regular phone from his world, and he can search details for monsters and demons for this world and various things. But upgrading this isn't a cheap one. It's over 15k. Keith still has a few thousand summon points to splurge on his guns and stuff. The phone is handy this time. Now he can search names and generals of the demon army, its powers, how many troops, etc."

"Well, I'm about a mile away from the area, so I need to walk now. Summon Ghillie suit!" (equipped)

As I summon the ghillie suit, the fabric envelops me, blending seamlessly with the surrounding foliage. The suit is designed to break up my silhouette, making me nearly invisible against the backdrop of the forest. I take a moment to adjust the suit, ensuring that it fits snugly and that the camouflage is effective. With my motorcycle parked safely out of sight, I begin my stealthy approach toward the demon activity.

The forest is alive with sounds—the rustling of leaves, the distant chirping of birds, and the occasional snap of a twig underfoot. I move cautiously, my senses heightened as I focus on the task at hand. The air grows heavier as I draw closer to the area where the demons have been spotted. I can feel the tension in the atmosphere, a palpable sense of danger that sends a shiver down my spine.

"As I summon my upgraded Remington rifle, now at level 3 and equipped with a scope and silencer, this baby can rock any monster's and demon's head.

I take a deep breath, steadying my nerves as I grip the rifle tightly. The weight of the weapon feels reassuring in my hands, the ghillie suit camouflaging me against the forest backdrop, I feel ready to face whatever lies ahead.

As I move deeper into the woods, I keep my eyes peeled for any signs of the demons. The underbrush is thick, and the shadows seem to dance around me, but I remain focused. I can’t afford to let my guard down. The last thing I want is to be caught off-guard by a demon ambush.

After a few minutes of careful navigation, I reach a vantage point overlooking a clearing. I crouch low, peering through the scope of my rifle to survey the area. My heart races as I spot them—figures moving in the distance, their forms twisted and grotesque.

"Found 'em."

The demons are gathered in a loose circle, their voices a low, guttural murmur that sends chills down my spine.

I adjust the focus on my scope, trying to get a clearer view. There are at least two dozen of them, each one more menacing than the last. Their skin is a sickly shade of gray, and their eyes glow with an unnatural light. I can see weapons strapped to their sides—swords, axes, and even some crude-looking bows. They seem to be discussing something, their gestures animated and aggressive.

"Oh, are they digging?" As I said that, I looked into my rifle scope again to confirm.

As I peer through the scope, I can see that the demons are indeed digging. They’re using their claws and makeshift tools to scrape away at the earth, revealing something buried beneath the surface. The sight sends a wave of unease through me. What could they be unearthing?

I focus on one of the larger demons, its stature towering over the others. It has a jagged scar running down its face, and its eyes burn with a fierce intensity. I can’t help but wonder if this is a leader of sorts. The way it barks orders at the others suggests it holds some authority within the group.

"Man, they're mining something." As I said that, I suddenly remembered the four artifacts. Now we are holding 1. "I see this is why you guys are here." As I said that, I lay down and summon my walkie-talkie and call the others.

"This is Eagle Eye, Bravo One over! (I am eagle eye, Josh is Bravo One, Delta Two is Vismond, Gamma Three is Chris, and lastly, Alpha Leader is Caine.) "Do you read me?" I spoke to the radio softly.

The crackle of static fills my ear before a voice comes through, clear and steady. "Bravo One here, Eagle Eye. I read you loud and clear. What’s your status?"

I take a deep breath, keeping my voice low to avoid detection. "I’ve located the demons. They’re digging in a clearing about a few from the elven kingdom position. Looks like they’re unearthing something important—possibly one of four artifacts. There are at least a dozen of them, and one appears to be a leader. And what I can see, his name is…" Berri…kangge, ah barikange. I think I butchered his name, but he’s one of the demon lieutenants of the demon lord's army." As I relay the information from my phone (told y'all it's handy), "Eagle Eye, how did you know that info? "Josh asks from the other line.

"Ah, remember the free phone I got from our last level up? Yeah, it turns out it can do various things, like mapping and information."

"That's incredible!" Josh replies, his voice tinged with excitement. "So you can look up demon names and their ranks? We need to get our hands on more of those artifacts before they do."

"Exactly," I respond, keeping my voice steady. "If they’re digging for artifacts, we can’t let them succeed. We need to gather more intel and figure out our next move. I’ll keep an eye on them for now."

"Understood, Eagle Eye. Just stay safe out there. We’ll be ready to back you up if things go south for now. Hold your port because we're a little bit busy because the emperor wants his kingdom enforced like what we did to Vuenna village, so maybe we'll be a little bit late for you," Josh says, his tone serious.

"Copy that, Bravo One. Just keep your head on a swivel. I’ll update you if anything changes," I reply, my focus still trained on the clearing below.

A few hours later, as I observe the demons, I can see their digging becoming more frantic. The larger demon, Berri-kangge, seems to be growing impatient, barking orders and gesturing wildly. "Man, the guy is like a boss from a big company, heh," I murmur. The others work faster, their claws tearing at the earth with a fervor that sends a chill down my spine. Whatever they’re after, it must be important.

I take a moment to scan the perimeter of the clearing, looking for any potential escape routes or vantage points. The last thing I want is to be cornered if things go sideways. The forest around me is dense, providing ample cover, but I need to be cautious.

Suddenly, one of the demons lets out a guttural roar, and the others freeze. I squint through the scope, trying to see what has caused the disturbance. It appears that they’ve uncovered something—a glint of metal peeking through the dirt. My heart races as I realize it could be one of the artifacts we’ve been searching for.

"Fuck, they found it too soon."

"Bravo One, do you copy?" I whisper into the walkie-talkie, my voice barely above a murmur.

"Reading you, Eagle Eye. What’s happening?" Josh responds, his tone alert.

"They’ve uncovered something shiny. It looks like it could be one of the artifacts. I need to get closer for a better look," I say, my mind racing with possibilities. If I can confirm it’s one of the artifacts, we’ll need to act quickly.

"Be careful, man. If they see you, it could get messy," Josh warns.

"I know. I’ll move in slowly. Keep the comms open," I reply, then switch off the walkie-talkie to minimize any noise.

I take a deep breath, steadying my nerves as I begin to crawl forward, using the underbrush for cover. The ground is uneven, and I have to be careful not to make any noise that might alert the demons. As I inch closer, I can hear their voices more clearly, a mix of guttural growls and harsh laughter.

"Dig faster! The master wants it now!" Berri-kangge bellows, his voice echoing through the clearing.

I can see the artifact now, partially unearthed and glimmering in the dappled sunlight. It’s a small, ornate box, covered in strange runes that pulse with a faint light. My heart races at the sight. "Fuck one of the artifacts."

As I get closer, I notice that the demons are becoming increasingly agitated. They seem to be arguing among themselves, their voices rising in pitch. I take this opportunity to pull out my phone and snap a quick picture of the artifact and search it in this world Wikipedia.

Pandora's box was where the second artifact lay. The second key of opening the seal for the Demon God Acarus. Man, this is dicey. If I won't move and take that thing, who knows how many artifacts they have? I need to grab that, but if I grab that, I'm pretty sure they'll attack the nearby kingdom or village, so I need to be mindful about this. (In that moment he realizes something and smirks.) "Man, maybe I have the best idea for these dumb demons. Haha, the important thing is inside, not the box itself, so I need to grab whatever is inside and replace it with something, and I have the best in mind to replace that." I murmur to myself.

With a plan forming in my mind, I take a moment to assess my surroundings. The demons are still distracted, their attention focused on the artifact and their heated argument. This is my chance. I need to act quickly and decisively.

All I need is to follow them for now, and when they are sleeping or not paying attention to that box, I'll snatch it and grab what's inside and replace it with this. I said to myself while grabbing a trip bomb while smiling menacingly.

System notification! User is more like a villain than the demons.

"The fuck you say? I angrily ask the system, but other notifications pop up.

System notification!

The emergency quest has arrived!

Retrieve the key/artifact inside the box without being discovered. Quest rating: A+.

Failure to do the quest: death.

Reward: Level 3 weapons will be unlocked. + Instant level up x 2

I take a moment to process the system notification, my heart racing at the implications. An emergency quest with such high stakes means I need to be on my game. The reward is tempting, but the consequences of failure are dire. I can’t afford to mess this up.

"Alright, let’s do this," I whisper to myself, steeling my resolve. I carefully observe the demons, noting their movements and the way they interact with one another. They seem to be growing more agitated, their voices rising in volume as they argue over the artifact. This could work to my advantage.

I decide to wait until nightfall. The darkness will provide better cover, and the demons will likely be less vigilant. I settle into my hiding spot, keeping my rifle close and my senses sharp. As the sun begins to set, the forest transforms, shadows stretching and deepening around me.

Hours pass, and the demons continue their digging, but their energy wanes as fatigue sets in. I can see them starting to take breaks, some leaning against trees while others pace restlessly. Berri-kangge, however, remains focused on the artifact, his eyes gleaming with a mix of greed and anticipation.

As the last light of day fades, I notice the demons begin to settle down. A few of them gather around a small fire they’ve built, their voices low and conspiratorial. This is my chance. I take a deep breath, reminding myself of the plan. I need to wait for the right moment to strike.

I pull out my phone and check the time. It’s nearly midnight. The forest is eerily quiet, the only sounds coming from the crackling fire and the occasional rustle of leaves. I can see the artifact clearly now, the ornate box glowing faintly in the darkness.

"Time to move"I said with a smirk.
