Lewis scuttled through his tunnels, walking on his web covered flaws was much easier than walking on dirt, his web was stronger than steel as Lewis could imbue it with magical properties, such as an abnormal strength or elasticity, the cave would only be temporary though as he got used to influencing souls while in a body and maybe even controlling them, the girl nobles body would be useful, but he feared the girl's injuries, he didn't know what damage it could have done to the body inside.
Well he knew what happened to the body and how bad it was because he felt it, and felt sick about it every time he did remember it, But while Lewis could very well heal or start to heal whatever damages there may be to the inside of the body, there were two problems, the first being that Lewis couldnt even examine the body to determine what is wrong because of his physique, the second being Lewis couldnt even hope to begin treating it in his current body. So he decided to get a body more practical for the job.
Lewis disembodied himself with a loud thud from the giant arachnid dropping to the floor, returning to the goblin village in wraith form didn't take too long as he could pass through objects and fly as well as move much faster then even in spider form.
Reaching the village Lewis grew annoyed at himself and mentally started berating himself about how he should have foreseen this. The land of the village was covered in rats, where there were not wolves feeding on the bodies there were rats, and a really annoying amount of flies which while they can't see, touch or bother him still annoyed him greatly.
Realising that he couldnt take any bodies from here, lewis decided to test his ability on controlling soul, instead of reaching out with his hand, Lewis created tendrils of soul energy and wrapped them around a rats soul, taking all it's memories and skills but the rat still retained the soul though now under Lewis command, grinning Lewis began to test what he could do finding he had complete control over them only widened his grin, Lewis kept on testing his abilities with the rats and found he could control 50 rats at any one time and larger animals were harder to take control of such as wolves were an equivalent of 25 rats.
Lewis decided to try something more complicated, ripping a soul from a wolf's body with moderate resistance he forced it into that of a rat, though the rat's body was soulless as Lewis didn't want to risk something going wrong if he put two souls in the same body, he will test it at some point but he desired to test the simpler things first, Lewis observed as the rat woke up disorientated, after observing the rat for half an hour Lewis decided that the wolf was experiencing what he experienced when he enters a new body without the basic knowledge of what he was doing and without the rats memories and skill to help getting used to the body, the wolf soul was very confused with the experienced but got used to it after a while, seeing no use in killing it Lewis let the confused thing scamper off into the brush.

Using the 50 rats under his control Lewis could see through all of their eyes simultaneously, it was very confusing and headache inducing at first but he got used to it after a while, Lewis suspected he had a very adaptable soul, he sent the rats scattering about the forest to look for other humanoid creatures, he found trolls, ogres and even some humans but lewis thought his spirit power wouldn't be enough to possess humans or others at such levels of sentience, or if he could it would be hard.
Eventually a rat found another goblin village, Lewis wanted to get his humanoid body fast and get back to his home and fix the girl's body, the reason is because the longer he waited the sooner it will begin to decompose and he didn't want to even imagine possessing a decomposing body as Lewis was allergic to pain and he assumed it would be rather painful.
Lewis got there fast, it seemed absorbing souls did increase his spiritual power which increases his power as a wraith and since after finding the goblin village he consumed the souls of all the rats his spiritual power increased by 12% making him 6% faster and it was a little noticeable, he arrived at the village quickly and found it quite a bit larger than the last with their numbers nearing the three digits.
Entering the badly made buildings first Lewis found more women and in the rancid food stores this time he found bodies of men and children with it, the glassy eyed women Lewis found were too far gone and all of them lowborn so no use to him, he did take their souls which increased his spiritual power by a lot, he idly wondered if he could absorb magical power in a similar way but put off that experiment for a later date.
Lewis found the boss of the goblin village, he was a hobgoblin in leather armour and a short iron spear that he assumed they had taken from the dead men in the ‘food’ rooms with it's skin having a slight infectious orange tint to it, Lewis rushed forward and barged himself into the body quickly subduing the shocked soul and consumed it, from the outside the body fell to it's knees and it's eyes became white before returning back to their sinister yellow though having a slight crimson tint to them now.
Standing up Lewis looked down at his orange tinted green hands and cringed at the way his body worked, his eyesight was awful, his teeth and mouth felt slimy and very unclean at the touch of his tongue and his teeth were yellowed and very uncared for though he supposed he shouldn't expect human standard hygiene of monsters.
Lewis looked around the large village and decided not to try and attack it just yet, all that would get him is new souls and he wasn't entirely used to the new body and fighting them would just be troublesome.
He then started to think, while he may have the memories and soul of the girl and in a way they were now the same person, it could be difficult to get the the family to believe it was her after all the differences there was between them, Lewis found it hard to differentiate between himself and the girl and stopped trying after a while, it would be easier that way anyway, he decided he could put the differences in personality that her family would observe down to the girls traumatic experiences from being a prisoner of goblins and all endured in their captivity.
Lewis was glad that he knew the family to be nice people, he was aware that many noble families would kill or disown their daughters for being violated especially by goblins, but Lewis new them to be nicer than that, they would treat him/ her not that differently maybe more protective though and he decided that letting them know about the captivity was a good idea to mask the difference since last they saw her.
