Lewis opened his heavy eyelids and looked around with tired eyes, standing up he realised for the first time how lucky he was at this second chance, he stretched out enjoying the freedom of his limbs being fully functional, something that he had lost several years ago back on earth due to his old age and frequent blood clots, though the fact he was unable to walk upright bothered him greatly.
The rumbling in his stomach made him realise that his body desires food ‘why did I have to get a body’ he groaned to himself at the thought of having to do the troublesome tasks of supplying the body with fuel in the form of food and drink or excreting waste, in his opinion it was a waste of time, oh he likes food and drink but he doesn't like having to do it, he would rather do it when he likes, well at least he had control of when he relieved himself now, he wasn't so lucky in the last body, shivering at the thought Lewis got up on all fours and made his way through the lengthy tunnels he had constructed the previous day, walking on four legs was still new to him and he still fell over after, so he resigned himself to getting some practice before trying to hunt in it.

After a few hours of falling over, getting back up and falling over again Lewis managed to get the hang of walking in this new body, even though it took him almost an hour to get out of his home under the bush, Lewis still feared heading out from under the bush in fear of predators, while birds may not be able to fly too well with all the trees they weren't the only threat, lewis looked out into the forest with a cautious gaze as if accusing it of plotting against him.
Lewis didn't want to try venturing out there, he had seen what happens to animals who take such risks time and time again many times in the past, and in a world of magic the risk is much greater, so he turned around and looking at the leaf covered hole that was the doorway to his home he sighed, before a glint of light entered his eyes at remembering where he got the leaves from, he looked up at the car sized bush he had positioned his home under and jumped grabbing a hold of a very bright red berry that hung from the end of the branch that strained as it was pulled to the ground by his weight, Lewis twisted around in hopes of dislodging the berry, it took quite the effort and when they finally separated the bush branch flung into the air and Lewis slumped to the floor panting the berry at half his size sat at his side as he recovered from the ordeal.

Getting up Lewis sunk his small teeth into the juicy red berry breaking the berry skin with a crisp snapping like noise similar to taking a bite out of an apple. Quickly Lewis had finished the berry leaving behind the leaf at it's top and he checked his surroundings for predators or prey when suddenly a sick feeling entered his git and his vision went dark, lewis had many expletives running through his mind as his head hit the floor.
With heavy breaths Lewis opened his eyes and found that his vision had turned green ‘no, no it's night!’ he exclaimed in his mind panicking and looking around for threats with his night vision, lewis sent a dirty glare at the remains of the berry as a window popped up

resistance to weak poisons
'fucking berries' he cursed in his mind and swearing to burn down the damned bush when he either moved or had a way to protect his home better.
Still pissed at the bush, the berry and himself for not being cautious enough to foresee this, lewis turned grumpily towards his home only to come eye to eye, or eyes with eight blood red beads or hunger that struck fear into his soul, it was a spider, no spider is the wrong word for it, it was more of a monster, in size at least towering over him and most cats and small dogs, the thing was the size of a hound, rearing back it let out an unearthly screech bearing two silvery fangs the size of a grown mans ring finger dripping with a yellow coloured venom before all 8 slender spearlike limbs moved in sync charging at him with naught but hunger in it's eyes.
