“Get out of the tub.”
El’s eyes burst open.
“You fell asleep. Drigs closed hours ago. You should probably get dressed and ready for whatever work you do for Arkin.” Erin looked down at El with her hands on her hips.
“You mind giving me a moment?” El asks.
“Ugh,” Erin huffs as she turns around, “your modesty isn’t endearing when I have work to do.”
“I should have plenty of time. I’m working the mill today so there isn’t much purpose in being early.” El pulls himself up out of the bath.
“So, I am working right now.” Erin’s reply is blatant.
“Well, I mean, I’ll help you open. Let me clean this bath for you.”
“What? Why would you do that?” Erin turns to look El in the eyes.
El lets out a squeak as he quickly covers his manhood. Erin rolls her eyes.
“Clean the bathroom, I’ll have some food cooked up for you before you go.” She walks towards the door.
“Okay.” El sighs as he pulls on his trousers.
The field hand cleans the room top to bottom, puts the rest of his clothes on, and then walks out to the tavern. He can smell freshly cooked eggs and his mouth starts to water.
“Come on. Get some food before you head out.” Erin waves El over to the bar.
He sits across from her and digs into the meal. There’s some old bread with it, but the meal tastes delicious nonetheless. Erin leans over the bar, her blouse falling off one shoulder, as she makes eye contact with El.
“How much time do you have before work?” She asks slyly.
A rooster caws in the distance.
“Shit, that's the wake-up call. I have to go, thanks for the meal!” El leans forward and hugs Erin. “Thanks again.”
The field hand runs out the door leaving Erin behind the bar. The barmaid scowls slightly having been left alone for another shitty day of work in the customer service industry. She sighs and rests her head on the bar having given up on El for now.

El heads to the smith and pays forty-three gold to have his shovel modified. He wants the handle to be extended, forged into a longsword, and sheathed. The base price of a longsword is only 15 gold, though the smith will have to make new molds, experiment with some different techniques, and possibly go through an iteration or two before reaching a final product. Supplying the shovel is enough raw materials for a two gold discount on what would be forty-five. The smith says that El should be able to pick it up tomorrow after his work is done.
El heads back out to the Warren to help Kib.
