Chapter 2 Day 8: Windhoek revolt (2/2)

Lich took off his backpack and stretched his neck. The peanut gallery either readied their weapons while calling him a murderer, or screamed and tried to hide in one of the many adjacent rooms. In response, he got into the crouch position, and jumped ahead.

There were still 30 people ready to fight, and the first one to fall was a woman with a pocket knife. Her jawbone was ripped out after being stabbed and spartan kicked in the chest.

The next three victims all swung their hammers at Lich, but he dodged with a back step, before smashing the leftmost man's head with the pick's backside, and picking up his weapon.

The other two attacked again, but one of them had a hammer thrown at his face, while the other was decapitated by a powerful swing.

A pair of women with long spears entered the hall, and, after assessing the situation, got closer and pointed their weapons at him.

“Give up! One move, and we'll kill you!” The higher of the two threatened him.

Lich, unbeknownst to everyone else, just smirked, and kicked the right spear with his foot, before dropping on his back. The second pointy stick flew above him, and Lich locked it between his pick and the hammer of a dead man.

Now unable to move her spear, the woman struggled to break it free, but Lich was just slightly way stronger. He pulled down, then back, and disarmed her.

The first attacker got into position to stab again, but Lich grabbed the spear he “liberated” from the second woman, and hit her knee with the back side of the shaft.

After both of them were unable to make a move, he stood up and turned the spear around, before throwing. The armed woman who was the target dodged, but it nailed a random person behind her. Hearing the scream, she turned around to see if someone died, but that was her mistake, since Lich's pick permanently made her left ear deaf, along with other long-term consequences (like death).

Now with no opposition, he killed the other woman, and rushed into the crowd. Most ran away, but a man took out a small pen-shaped object, and stabbed his right tight with it.

It was a syringe of Boiler.

He jumped at Lich with a butcher's knife in hand, but was met with a dropkick to the face.

Now both lying on the floor, Lich made a 180 turn (positioning his opponent's legs right next to the top of his head) and destroyed his right knee with a reversed overhead strike.

A knife stopped him before he had a chance to smash the second one, and both of them jumped back on their legs the next second. The now crippled man did not even feel the injury on his right leg.

Lich now stood in front of his enemy, both of them ready to fight until the other dies.

At the same time, they both jumped at each other and attacked. A knife was flying toward Lich's chest, but he caught it in his cape, along with the attacker's hand. The pick hit its target in the left shoulder.

Lich jumped back, and got into the right stance again. The next time he rushed ahead, the man had tried to tackle him, but Lich took the chance to stab his enemy's spine, making him unable to move anything below his waist.

Lich just kicked ahead, and put an end to the fight by swinging his pick at the drugged man.

“I guess that's it. Everyone else is too scared to come out.” Whatever his opponent's name was, Lich respected his prowess. “But where is that Boiler?”

He started sweeping through the floor, only to find a long, but very slim syringe. It was a so called single-charger.

Realizing he won't find any more drugs, Lich started walking around the basement. It was large, but deserted, hinting at the existence of another exits.

Most rooms had only low quality junk in them, but in what seemed like the Leader's chamber, there was a giant closet full of nice clothes. Lich quickly got dressed and took a few sets to put them in his bag once he got it back.

After leaving the underground base through the entrance he used, a large explosion made him turn around.

What followed was a bestial howl of many monsters at once.

“Really? I wanted to start singing Dixie.”
