Chapter 2 Day 7: Windhoek revolt (2/2)

After listening to his introduction, the trio started laughing. A frown appeared on Lich's face, but it was hidden by the silver mask.

“I don't know what you're laughing about, kids. My royalty is no joke. I will have you know that, even if my mother was a bitch, my father was still a successful businessman.”

Some bystanders overheard the discussion and joined the crowd, which started laughing even louder.

“Whatever, I'm leaving.” Seeing that he became the laughingstock for everyone, Lich left through the main gate.

He started walking toward the place on the map, when he heard the sound of someone running toward him from behind. That person was none other than Adam.

“Hey man, sorry if you got mad. It was just funny how you acted. It's not everyday someone calls themselves a king of the undead, right?” Adam apologized genuinely, reminding Lich that being laid back was needed for a good friendship. He started recalling the times when he would roast his friends until they were well done, and understood that it was not a big deal. It was a part of life he missed for a long time, before forgetting.

"It's not a big deal, so don't worry. I had to get going anyway."

He continued walking after answering, and left Adam, who turned around and came back to the city hall.

When he arrived, noon was not more than 10 minutes away. Unsurprisingly, only rubble could be seen, which meant that the base was underground, or he was tricked into destroying something that didn't exist. Not wanting to repeat the hours long search that happened the last time he was looking for a hatch, Lich made the decision to wait and see if someone enters.

He picked a random ruin and made sure that there were no trapdoors underneath it, before burying himself in bricks and parts of concrete. He was in the outskirts, so the piles of rubble weren't tens of meters high. In that position, he would wait for someone to enter or leave any of the ruins.

Luckily, Lich was used to being bored for long amounts of time, because no one appeared until midnight.
