10 - Where the winds go, The recruit goes

"Damn, you are getting better at this." Chau-Min was breathing heavily as she held her knees near a makeshift barricade.

"Why, Thank you. It is all on my own personal training I made." Sherriford was talking big as she made a rude smirk towards Chau-Min.

Captain Shanina and William caught up with them. "This is a practice jog not a running contest-." Captain Shanina in her typical blatant and monotoic voice said.

"Yeah yeah...~" Sherrinford whispered to herself.

"I heard that you know." Shanina made a murderous glint towards Sherrinford. Eerily creeped out, Sherrinford smiled innocently and walked through the base's entryway.

"What now?" William asked as he took a sip of water from his water bottle.

"When the time comes, we will be called. Today, We will just have classes like normal." Captain Shanina said as she removes the wet part of her three layered singlet, being quite revealing.

William just excuses himself as he had no wish to participate in watching a change of clothes. He just headed to the locker room which was rather ... worse.

"Oh... Hello William, How are you enjoying your day after being reanimated from the dead?" The tall soldier teasingly said to him as she was putting on her new batch of uniform.

"Pretty terrible...Its chilly today then usual. What is this, negative one degrees?" William asked curiously.

"Who knows... back in the past soldiers fought in colder temperatures, we are just lucky because of global warming. Besides that, technological advancements in our uniforms makes us feel a little less humid or dry." She explained.

"Sounds fair..." Keeping on his military pants, he just took off his tee and took his towel. He didn't want to be rude and expose himself, especially to the younger ones in the echelon. "I am going to take a shower... see you in a bit."

"Yeah..yep" She said with a soft smile and a wave before she shut herself off, heading to the direction of the classrooms.

William took a quick shower as he didnt want to miss half of the lesson. Upon leaving the shower room, he stumbled upon the operation master's younger sister without wearing any pants on. Only his towel was slightly wrapped.

(Ahh Scheisse...) He thought in his head.

"Ahh, There you are! Mr Endicrite, Teacher is looking for you. She wants to give you homework that you didn't do for the past five years."

(What the Fwaghh~) "WHAT!" He shouted loudly, causing an echo to sonorise around the locker room.

Shush~ A voice could be heard from one of the shower stalls.

"I am kidding. Lol~ I just randomly stumbled upon you so I just want to say hi.~" She chuckled.

"Hi." William replied to her.

"Alright, well see you in class. Haha~." She walked away quite quickly but since the floors were quite slippery she had to penguin walk to avoid slipping.

(Damn...Girl, Still likes to play her tricks. But she grew up quite fast in just five years.) He said to himself as he headed towards the changing room, opening his locker.

Sae-Yong's crystal, the purple one glowed, through telepathy, she talked through William's head. "Ayo, You scream so loud I could hear it through my walkie-talky."

"Who uses a walkie-talkie at this decade?" He replied back.

"Uhhh Me and the rest of your buddies in military camp." She said as ambient sounds of explosions could be heard in the background.

"Lucky b@$%h, you get to play video games while I have to attend classes." He sarcastically said in his head as he put on his uniform.

"Sucks to be you bro~." She said back. "Lol...Humans are funny. Everytime they lose or die, they start typing negative things towards the chat."

"It is what you call bad sportsmanship also known as Toxic Behaviour." He grabs both Sae-yong's crystal and her sister's which he recently received for no reason at all, putting it into his breast pocket.

He waved and smiled to one of his passing soldier buddies as he exited the room. For the time being, they walked together to reach for their same class. They didn't really talk about anything.

Knocking the door, William let himself in.

"Hurry up, Class is starting soon. I need to take attendance." Salia said as she was removing her scarf off and placing it onto her table.

WIlliam and the other buddy excused themselves with a nod and headed to their seats. William sat on the table Shanina was at.

"Did I say you could seat here?" She said bluntly as she watched outside the window.

"Oh sorry... I didn't mean to~" He took one step.

"I am joking, come seat down. No one seats here anyway..." She said as she looks at him with her snake like blink.

"Alright..alright.." William nervously smiled as he watched the surrounding of the class.

Attendance were being taken.

...

"Alright,I guess everyone is in class today. Thank you for coming. Just so you know, next week... we will probably get your promotions started. You would either A, rank up or B, stay as you are. Pretty sure most of you will stay, as, ranking up is quite difficult especially with your change in your confirmed and unconfirmed or and how supportive you are in operations." Teacher Salia said as she started opening up a document on her laptop to show onto the wall screen.

"Let's do this...Today we will learn about Continuum's other wings or you could say tables. Other than Phantom, There are other elite groups which are secretly created by the other two generals but, since it's a secret, it is private to those only in those wings." She explained.

"Though Continuum only has one general of the army and two subsitute generals to regulate this place, we actually have four wings. First is our wing, which is called the West Wing also known as the Armaments Army. We specialise in normal operations and terrorist attacks. We may also cover in taking care of very important people also known as VIPs. Pretty sure you guys know this, quite common actually.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

Second, We have the North Wing also known as the Aviation Crew regulated by both General Mia and General Ferdunov. They take care of the vehicles used for flight combat. But hold on, they are not hundred percent regulating the Aviation Crew. A Marshal from a real Aviation Team is taking care of this business though she rarely comes here as she has her own crew to take care off. However, we have her guardian who is also coincidentally a pilot which has far superior avitation mentality that she one handedly takes care of every class in that crew. Odd isn't it." She clears her throat as she took a sip of water from her glass.

"Thirdly, we have the East Wing also known as the Scientists Laboratory. They don't really participate in war. They mostly du dangerous experiments and tweak in making nuclear or bio weapons. They may sometimes use one of us from any wings to try out their prototype weapons if she or HE (Because William is there) has the potential in their statistics of probability, maths and whoever the f@#$ knows." She explained.

"Lastly, we have the Supports Table or the South Wing. As the name implies, they are mostly specialise in medical procedures. They are mostly deranked scientists or just people who want to use their intelligence more than their brawns. Most of the people who work there are specially accepted due to their either physical or mental difficulties. They could also help by fixing most of our equipments or even upgrading it if it is possible. You have a friend here who has a sister who works there just for your information." She said implying Chau-Min.

"I am getting bored..." William said to himself softly.

"...Same." Captain Shanina said as she places her chin towards her palm, still staring outside the window. "I already know all this yet have to learn about them." She explained.

...

After doing some paperwork that was given by Salia, William's echelon were sent to the training grounds for another duel session, this time a two versus two.

"Alright can we get a Rose Remisense and William Endicrite to step up for abit." SHe said as she started at her phone filled with tallies.

WIlliam looks at Rose who smirks at him, confused too.

"You two will work together as a team to take down two other of your opponents, get your equipments ready, fill up your ammunitions properly and head to your positions that you prefer to start at." She points at them with a penicil then towards the back of some odd abandoned building.

"Instead of normal duel sessions, we will fight in pocket dimensions made by the Guardian's Architecturers. This time, you will fight in an abandoned building." She said as she shooed them off.

As the two headed to the stations, an echelonw as staring at the telly screen. "Rampage and Rose (Her operator codename is also her name), a sniper and a hybrid, an odd combination."

"Isn't there usually two people involved to take care of the sniper?" A gal from the same echelon asked her senior.

"Yes, that is usually the case, but this time she has to take care of herself while he hunts for the other two, probably picking on their other weaker opponent."

"That makes sense..." She replied back.

...

"Well, Let us do this!" WIlliam shouted as he tried to cheer on Rose.

"Right, Yeay~" She wasn't really that excited.

"Rose, if you need help in anything call me up okay.." He puts on his true uniform and took his equipments along. The same old weapons he always used. He puts on his white tic-tac thingy mic onto his glasses.

"Alright, will do..." She smiled as she nods and puts on her game face.

The two both stood into the portal and were dropped into their deciding area."

...

"I am in twelveth floor... where are you?" He asks Rose while watching the surrounding perimeter holding his HK33.

"Rooftop, north building ... setting up my rifle. I can see you through my binoculars." She prepared her rifle as William exited the building by running down a few stairs.

"Such a big place for just a two versus two..." He said.

"Realistic Theme I guess... pros versus pros situation usually." She explained.

The people outside the dimension were spectating through televeision screens being aired. It was watched by public eyes as a game show of sorts to publicise the existence of Guardians and their usefullness.

The enemies of Rose and WIlliam were nearing, but they weren't vary of their whereabouts.

William heard soft thuds of footprints from nearby area of the parking lot he is now in. "I can hear footsteps, talking a peek" He gave his notice by whispering to Rose.

"Noted...I am watching for the other enemy, hope it is not another sniper or a guardian user which can scan surroundings."

"No worries..." He asked Sae-Yong to check the perimeter by hiding behind shadows and watching the nearby area.

Sae-Yong's crystal was thrown and simultaneously controlled by Sae-Yong who was using her Game Controller as a ... controller, duh~.

...

Outside the dimension

"Just so you know, every time you die in the game, the killer will get a point and there will be a cooldown to be respawned." The host gave the rules of the game show.

...

"Six o'clock... A female is watching her surroundings left and right, now she is talking on her walkie-talkie, she is going to change positions. Strike Now while she has her back turned."

William nods and silently looked beside the pillar he was hiding behind. Seing the enemy, he aimed and did a few burst onto her back.

"Aaagh~Dam...mit." She let out a cry of pain before being teleported out of the dimension to be respawned.

"Got her..." He said as he run out of the parking lot.

"Alright good, I got a sight on her partner. SHould i take the shot or would you do the offering of stabbing her back?"

"Either choice is alright, let us just finish the first round fast before her partner respawns for a second try-in." WIlliam said , as he sprinted and vaulted over a barricade.

"I can see you! " The other opponent said as  hurled somethign towards the barricade, hitting the ground and causing a stream of flame.

"Oh shit..Molotov... this girl got molotovs. " He roll dodged and hid behind a pillar.

The two got into a gun fight.

"Hey, I can't see her...!" She said.

"Hold on, Im exchanging bullets !" He shouted back at her over the sounds of ambient flames and metal clings.

He did a trick and shouted. "Reloading Mags..." Causing the opponent to think he was going to reload, causing her to quickly do the "finishing".

"Bamboozled...B@#$%." He shot her head, few nanoseconds before the bullet actually hit her head, she was teleported back.
