It was early afternoon about 1pm where the sun was shining rays of blinding light through my windows. I got up and removed my VR set and began to freshen up by taking a quick shower. The slightly cold water was pretty nice after just getting up in the summer season.

“That was refreshing” I say

I got out of the bathroom and picked out a white-blue T-shirt along with a white pair of shorts. After getting dressed I walk down the stairs because I was very hungry after the combat last night.

As I walk past the phone I notice there was a voice message that was unread so I decided listen to it as I heat up the food on the table.

“Honey, it’s mom I want you to know that I won a free 2 week vacation to Niagara Falls and I am allowed to bring up to 4 people with me. Your dad has agreed to come and I want to know your answer also my mom is coming as well. Also keep staying healthy because just sleeping and playing is not good for your health. Love You, Bye! *BEEP*”

“I love you too mom” I say out loud as I carry the heated food to the table

As I ate I started thinking about the trip and decided to go because I have never been out of the city for years plus I want to see the falls at least once. However, I don’t think I can bring my VR set with me so I will not be able to play for 2 whole weeks which sucks but I’ll live.

I finished eating what people would call ‘Brunch’ (Breakfast+Lunch) I cleaned the table and the dishes. Next I went on the New Road forums for any news about the game.

The forums went on about a special announcement given by Chairman Sync that will be given in 3 weeks concerning a special event. This event was said to get the players pumped up about the game even more than now.

I looked at the post and thought that I was just a way for more people to buy the VR set and play the game. The game does not have a cash system so the only way for the company to make money is by selling the machines and from monthly subscriptions.

I look through the other post and only saw things like ‘top players in (country)’, ‘best professions’, ‘looking for a party for (dungeon/quest)’, ‘looking for a girlfriend and must be a real girl’, etc

When I saw the girlfriend post I was laughing because the person is either brave, joking around or just a plain idiot. However, I did see something very interesting in the forums because there were two words in the title that caught my attention ‘Weird old woman ask everyone on the streets if they know the fox successor’.

My heart started racing and a smile formed on my face because now I have a lead on what my class is about. This old woman knows something about this class and I know I must talk to this person.

I click on the post and started reading it to know where this woman is at and what she looks like or if possible her name. In the end all I got was the location and a small description of what she looked like.

I close the website and open up a song file to relax and think.

‘I have an answer to one of my problems which is the class but now I have another problem because of the Fan skill. How can this skill be used if I just turn my sharp weapon into a fan?’ I thought as my eyes closed and the music took my conscious away

I dreamt about a woman with a fan with white make up on her face walking towards a man. The way I was seeing this happen made it seem very similar to something but could not bring it up so decided to just watch more of the scene. The woman got within 3 meters from the man and brought the fan over her face, as the two got closer they both disappeared and all I hear is the word “honey wake up”.

I slowly woke up from my dream and stared at my mom then looked at how strong the sunlight was coming from the window.

“Good evening mom. How was work?” I asked

“It was good since I won the company lottery and now get to go to the Falls” she answers

“Oh! My answer to your voice message regarding the trip is “Yes I will also go” “I tell her

“By the way come down for dinner in 2 min and then discuss the trip” she adds

“Sure mom” I say as I get up to stretch

The evening went by pretty much the same with eating dinner and talking about the trip. It turns out that the trip is next week and dad already talked with his boss about the trip and he was given the ‘ok’. I decided to tell my friends about my trip since I won’t be able to go on for 2 weeks which is 6 weeks in game.

“How is the game Silvi? Are you making any friends?” dad suddenly asks

“It is fun because I get to do what I can’t do in real life and I made quite a few new friends” I say

“How many boys?” my father suddenly asks

“none all girls” I answer easily since it was true

My father heard my confident voice and nodded then went back eating his last bite of food.

After dinner I went back onto the computer to find out what I was dreaming about. It took about 10 min until I have remembered where I have seen that particular scene.

It was from the game Shogun total war where the Geisha uses her weapon to kill a general or an agent in the streets. This made me quickly shut down my computer and go back online.

I log back onto New Road and open up “Weaponized Fan” to read the description again.

‘What are these hidden mechanisms’ I wondered as I read the description

I decided to find out what these mechanisms are by transforming my blade into a fan similar to a movie I watched.

The skill covered my blade in darkness and changed its shape into a fan. This process took only 3 sec and what came out was a fan just like what I imagined.

The fan was black with red blood like design of a thorny rose and it was soft like normal fan.

“How can this thing be a weapon? Its too soft to block anything” I say softly

At that time someone approached me from behind.

“Silvi-sama is there something wrong?” the voice behind me said

I turn around towards the voice and saw Sakura bending down looking at me.

“Hello Sakura, nothing’s wrong just trying to work out what this skill can do” I answer

“Do you mean the clan skill you got that changes your weapon into a fan?” She asks

“Yeah that’s the one, but this fan doesn’t look like a weapon since it feels like just a normal fan and look like a normal fan” I say

“Really let me see” she says as I gave her the fan

“It’s hard like steel” she tells me as she touches the fan

“What do you mean hard? Look” I say as I bring my hand over the fan and touch it

The fan’s silk cover bends at where I touched making it feel like normal silk fibre so I didn’t believe in Sakura’s words. I look at Sakura with eyes saying ‘see just normal silk’ but then Sakura uses her fingers to touch the same silk area. I look and believed that it would be the same but is proven wrong since the silk did not move at all from Sakura’s force.

“From what I can see this fan is hard and sharp like metal from a blade only towards people other than the skill user” Sakura says looking at my confused face

“Then it is not a weapon that will hurt me but will hurt my enemies” I say looking very impressed with the skill holding the fan

“Yes it is an interesting skill” Sakura says

“The skill says that the fan has hidden mechanisms. Could this be the mechanism?” I ask wondering

Just as I said that a window pops up in front of me making me surprised for a second but then made me smile with the words:

“Interesting skill indeed”
