Chapter [2] - Where Time Doesn't move.

“I will help you by adding a Qi Luring Talisman.” Azrael said waving his hand allowing three talismans with symbols to appear.

Mazir immediately felt the change. Was it better or worse?

At that moment he couldn’t even realize.

However he wasn’t in a position to decide.

He focused on cultivating and forgot about the Luring Talisman.

Azrael smiled however Mazir didn’t notice it as his eyes were closed and even if they were open, he wasn’t focusing at what physical things his eyes saw. However even if he knew that Azrael was doing this purposely, he couldn’t do much.

He gritted his teeth and tried his best. His willpower was way stronger than what Azrael expected it to be.

‘I guess being a slave has some effects’

He thought to himself while looking at the painful face Mazir was making. If he didn’t have an idea why he was making that face, by now he’d have laughed like crazy. His face looked funny indeed. But Mazir didn’t have time to see how his face looked.

*BOOM*

There was a sudden explosion close to Mazir.

Azrael opened his eyes wide. ‘Impossible! Did my senses just lie?! The Qi just exploded!’

Qi was smaller than an atom. However it had the ability to store power thousands to millions of times bigger than it, and that was just for 1. Thus it was completely absurd for it to overload.

“MAZIR STOP.” The sudden yell of his master woke up Mazir who was very confused.

“Master what happened? I felt like I was very close to sensing Qi however I felt a sudden explosion which all my pores felt.”

“It seems it was too early for you my boy. I will send you to a temporary time dimension where you will stabilize your powers.” Azrael said sighing.

‘His soul power is very high. I wonder who his parents were, even Death And Life Realm Cultivators shouldn’t have this power, and that realm is one of the last of the mortal realm…’

“Don’t joke about it Master, there’s no way you can send me to another dimension.” Mazir chuckled. Even the King of this continent wouldn’t be able to do such a thing.

“You are underestimating my abilities, boy.” Azrael sighed.

‘Who does he think I am? The minimum to open a dimension is a Immortal Realm. There’s no way I can’t do it!’

He waved his hand and suddenly a small part of the world was cracked and opened forcefully, allowing a portal to appear. Azrael pushed Mazir inside and entered it himself.

“Master what are you do-!” His words were interrupted by the sudden push.

______________________________________________________________________________

The other dimension was blank and grey. Besides a small sun, there was nothing to look at.

“I don’t see any difference in the time, master.” Mazir who was wiping dust off from his clothes said.

“Of course you don’t, you think that you, who isn’t even capable of sensing Qi could see the differences?” Azrael felt like smacking him in the face. Even Immortals may not see great differences.

“You see in this world a day outside is a year inside. However, that means you won’t age. However unless you manage to reach a certain level of power you will not be allowed to enter this dimension.” Azrael said with a sharp look at Mazir.

“Why master? If I trained here I could easily become strong?!” Mazir was confused.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

“Because currently, you are barely alive here. I’m using my Qi to ensure your survival. Besides, what makes you think you are more allowed to use this dimension than anybody else?”

“...”

Mazir was speechless. He couldn’t deny that if Azrael hadn’t chosen him as a disciple he may had died in the cave.

Compared to the free people he wasn’t worth a grain of rice!

Azrael sighed. ‘It seems he finally understood that currently he is barely important’

(AN- Sorry for those who read the part Azrael said how important he was lol, that was in another sense)

Mazir apologized in a hurry.

“There’s no need to apologize. I can understand your greed.”

Despite Azrael’s words Mazir felt very bad.

‘I’m so stupid’ Mazir sighed in his mind at his stupid words he previously said.

“Anyway you remember that something exploded before right?” Azrael said.

“Eh? Yes.” Mazir said.

“The reason that happened was your Mentality.” Azrael said.

“You weren’t prepared at all. You used way too much power of your soul.” Azrael added.

“Power of my soul?” He was confused. How was he supposed to know what the power of the soul was?

“You will understand about it later. You are not worthy of knowing anything with your current strength.” Azrael said as he waved his hand.

“Do you see what my hand holds?” He asked.

Mazir couldn’t see anything despite him trying a lot.

“No.” He said.

“Then you are not worthy of training here alone.” He said disappointed a little, but it wasn’t visible to human eyes. “Remember this one thing. Humans are no longer Humans when they become Cultivators…”

He took a breath and said.

“I will train you in many ways so you can control your powers better. It may take a few months or a few years. But after that… You will get a crazy boost when cultivating until it ends in a certain realm or layer.”

Mazir’s eyes shone with excitement. He couldn’t wait at all! “Master please! Let’s start quickly!” Azrael chuckled, “Why are you in such a hurry…” If only he knew that this training will be harder than living a hundred years inside a coffin

Azrael flicked a finger and suddenly a waterfall appeared together with a mountain. The water flow was fast. He kicked Mazir who ended being swallowed by the water.

“Are you TRYING TO KILL ME?” Mazir tried to swim however with his weak body he was not even capable of escaping the strong pull of the water.

Azrael chuckled and made sure his voice reached Mazir. “You need to surpass your limits. If you can’t even get out of such a weak pull then you aren’t worthy of being my disciple.” Mazir heard him but what could he actually do?

“Trying to swim normally isn’t the only way you can survive the pull Mazir.” Azrael said as he formed a Chair and sat on it.

‘isn’t the only way? What does he mean by that?’ Mazir had no idea.

He struggled for a few minutes before he run out of breath. His muscles started to weaken. He was unable to move at al.

Would Azrael allow him to die?

However all he could see in this water was his master’s cold but waiting eyes…

Deep in his mind he knew… he was going to die!

His heartbeat rose to crazy levels as he slowly fell deep inside the waterfall…

Wait, How can a Waterfall be so deep?!

*Crack* * Crack* *Crack*

His entire view cracked into fragments.

He opened his eyes.

He was out of the waterfall.

“What happened?” His weak voice asked Azrael who smiled.

“You managed to discover that it was an illusion. Honestly I expected you to discover it earlier but it seems you were too busy thinking of other stuff weren’t you?” He teased Mazir who snorted.

“Well I managed to discover it! Nothing else matters.” Mazir said with anger visible in his words. He was quite happy that it was an illusion.

However that would only be one of the many trainings he’d receive from Azrael…

_______

After a few training weeks Mazir felt sick.

‘Does every cultivator have to go through all of this? Then it’s no surprise they are so strong…’ He thought as he ate a piece of meat.

However the difference between the few weeks was huge. Even if a hundred Mazir’s of a few weeks ago fought the current Mazir they’d lose.

(AN- Yeah sherlock, they were all weak anyway)

(Editor- Well… they could make some decent...ish meat-shields)

(Lurker- GO MAZIR! KILL THEM ALL!)

Ahem cough cough, that aside let’s continue.(No massacre please)

“Master, I’ve already completed today’s training.” He said to his master who was sitting in a chair while yawning.

“Oh, good. Now we can continue with the next training and it’s not going to be easy…” Azrael said.

Mazir slowly gulped and grabbed a spear close to him. It was made from wood which he got after his master created a mini-world in this dimension by a way he had no knowledge of. Azrael said that it would be his weapon until he left the dimension, so he had no other choice of weapon besides this.

“You are going to kill a Tiger.” Azrael said.

“...”

“Just that?” Mazir asked. While Tigers were hard to kill and were a danger to Mazir, he knew the jungle better than any other creature, as he had explored it for days to even an entire week. A tiger had many weak points which he could use to kill it.

“You still haven’t understood your master’s personality? Of course it isn’t a normal Tiger. It’s a Mutant Tiger who is three times bigger and five times stronger than a normal Tiger.” Azrael grinned.

Mazir’s face darkened.

‘Of course I should’ve known. My master would never let me have an easy time. Especially in a training. Seems like, I’ll be full of sweat and blood when I complete the training, if I complete it that is, hahah.’

“Go and complete the mission boy. When you return take at least a part of the Tiger which I can recognize, By the way it looks like this.” Azrael gave him an image of the Mutant Tiger inside his mind.

“Yes.” Mazir nodded and said and left the small house his master had built for them to temporarily live for a few months to a year.

The jungle wasn’t small at all. It spread across hundreds of kilometers to thousands of kilometers. The jungle contained many different animals. From terrifying one’s to small and weak one’s.

While it wouldn’t be hard for Azrael to contain all these beasts inside the  jungle he was too lazy to check it every hour so he put an Array which only let him and Mazir enter the jungle. If anything else tried to pass through, they’d get burned to ashes by the Array

Mazir waited for the Array to recognize him before entering it. That would be more safe. If he just entered it there was a small chance the array wouldn’t recognize him as it was aarray  even Array Masters found as “Failed”.

However no matter how much Azrael denied it, Mazir had a library’s worth of books to read, so of course he already had read a bit about Arrays in the few weeks he was here.

Seeing that the  wasn’t causing any problem Mazir entered it carefully…
