I made myself passout by slowing my heart beat to the minimum, then cut a bit of oxygen from reaching my brain, so to the doctors I was in a genuine state of unconsciousness.
The next day I woke up to the sight of Rachel seated in a chair next to the commissioner in my hospital room, peeling an apple as she had a whole fruit basket next to her, which was odd. I didn’t know Raven could be this caring when she wanted to.
This was perfect, I was unaware of the kind of conversation she might have had with the commissioner but I was glad she was present, it would help vouch for my good nature and also means I would probably have the commissioner backing me in the things I’d do as I’ve earned a large portion of his trust.
“Baby girl, I thought you were off world.” The first words I muttered, groaning as I tried getting up to a seating position.
She turned to see my eyes wide opened as she dived upon me to give me a hug as tears gathered around her eyes. “You shouldn’t try to move, lay back down and just relax.”
“Don’t tell me you rushed back to earth just because you heard I was shot.” I added as I wrapped my arms around her, then she pulled back her head to give me a passionate kiss on my lips.
“Don’t you ever scare me like that.” She reprimanded with tears filled eyes. “I just returned last night, only to see on the news that you got shot.”
“So it would seem.” I replied, placing my hand on the gunshot wound. “Good morning commissioner.” I greeted, acting like I just took note of his presence.
“Morning, Tom.” He replied. “How do you feel?” He asked.
“Like I was shot.” I replied with an air of sarcasm. “I’m sorry for that. As the commissioner of the of the Gotham City Police Department and on behalf of the force, I want to sincerely apologize to you. For you became a target under false charges and got shot right in front of the station. That was disgraceful on our end, we each swore an oat to protect the innocent but couldn’t protect one kid in our own territory.”
“I admit getting shot sucks, and it sucks even more that it took place in police premises. But there was nothing anyone could have done, so its alright.” I waved the whole thing off.
“Thank you, Tom.” He said with a sigh of relief. “I’ll be leaving now, there’s a lot to do.” He said as he grabbed his hat from the small table.
“Okay, commissioner.” I replied while opening my mouth for Rachel who was feeding me the apples she had diced. As he placed his hand on the doorknob, he turned around. “You should get as much rest as you can, the media are itching to chew you up the moment news of your discharge date gets out.” He advised before opening the door and walking out.
“You actually got shot.” Rachel said as took a small peep under my bandages. “How was that even possible?” She asked.
“I’ll tell you, but first...Why don’t you come in Leo. I know you’re both at the window.” I said as the two camping cats made their way into my room, Leo and Jason to be precise.

Rachel remained quiet upon seeing both Jason and Leo, then just proceeded to crawl into my hospital bed and continue to feed me fruits.
“How crazy does someone have to be to let themselves get shot, then go as far as getting themselves in a critical condition just to make it as real as it possible could for the doctors and the world?” Jason asked, while Rachel just gave me a judgy look for a second before switching into an angry mode of hers.
“You let yourself get shot?” She questioned with a furious look which I just found to be cute. That instant I nullified the sound inside the room so no one from the outside would be able to hear a thing being discussed inside.
“Not particularly.” I replied with a slight smile. “Explain.” She demanded, I owed her that much so I obliged.
“I saw the bullet coming, it seemed like it was made to graze my shoulder on purpose. But I changed its trajectory towards my chest, used my blood flow to manipulate my tissue to bore a hole which was the size of the bullet. Then took my other hand to my chest so I caught it in time before it got deflected off me and finds its way into someone else. So I simply placed the steaming hot bullet into the injury I had created, have it bore it’s way to the other side and out my back. Then dropped to the floor like the bullet had taken me down.” I explained.
“But there was so much blood, I thought you might bleed out before we got to the hospital.” Leo said. “Yeah, I sealed the blood vessels around the wound to stop the actual bleeding, then just kept moving around the blood, making the small portion of blood I sacrificed look like a lot.
“It’s official.” Leo said out loud, earning himself glances from the three of us while he leaned against a wall before he continued. “You’re officially the most insane person I know. Mick doesn’t come close to your level of insanity.”
“Am just glad you’re one of the good guys and not some villain, this is Joker level of craziness and Lex Luthor’s level of manipulation, all rolled up in one person.” Jason said as he took a seat, grabbing himself a banana from the fruit basket.
“Just what is it you hope to accomplish from all this?” Rachel asked, her expression slowly changing. “You gave me quite the scare, I thought I might loose you.” She added, tears swirling again but she held herself together while I ran my fingers backwards through her hair to calm her down. “It’s okay sweetie, you aren’t getting rid of me that easily.” I said, when I suddenly heard a form of whistling from Leo as he awkwardly looked at the ceiling.
“Get a room, love birds.” Jason remarked. “I have a room, and you’re both in it right now.” I replied.
“That’s a good point.” He replied. “So what do you intend on doing next, enough with taking us by surprise.”
“Did you give the reporter the flash drive and specific information like I instructed?” I asked.
“Of course, you just happened to get shot the same day she was going to relay them to the commissioner.”
“Hmm... She must have done so already, because I doubt she would be able to keep such info to herself for long, we just have to kick back and watch the pieces fall together for the commissioner and Batman.” I said as a smirk made its way to the side of my lips.
Rachel acknowledged the fact that this was my business, and so long as I wasn’t hurting the innocent she wouldn’t interfere or say a word of objection because she believed I must have had everything all figured out.
“It seems your life as the least popular loner would be coming to an end. Rather, it has come to an end.” She pointed out.
“I assure you there’s nothing to worry about sweetie, I just have to handle it as it goes.” I said to her, only to earn myself a disbelieving look from Leo who still found it weird I was dating a hero and discussing all yhis in her presence.
“What if Batman gets all up in your business, now that you’re going public.” Leo asked, maintaining his calm demeanor while Jason just averted his gaze when I turned to him, he was the reason Batman came to notice me in the first place.
“Relax, there’s no way he would be able to put it together that I’m Ace, that I’m sure of.” I said while considering the fact that Jason knew exactly what his thought process was like, so it was best to ask for his insight on this topic. While Leo tried using his eyes to alert me of Rachel’s presence and I just admitted to being Ace the Tyrant who’s currently the most wanted criminal.
I just waved it off to him, hinting she was aware of my identity as Ace the Tyrant. Earning myself an exasperated sigh from him.
“Or would that be a problem?” I asked as I fixed my gaze on him, he shook his head as he replied. “None that I can think off, but right now you’re the main focus of everyone in Gotham City, the police, Batman, and criminals all alike. Including both of your attempted murders.”
“Both of your....?” Rachel tried putting together the meaning behind that statement. “Wait, this wasn’t the only attempt on your life? How could you keep that from me?” She asked, the lovey-dovey air around her slowly turned into anger and I for one knew not to anger a demon.
“It happened the night before you left for your off world mission, I didn’t want to bother you with that sort of thing.” I replied, attempting to ease her.
“Hey, should we be discussing these sort things with her around?” Leo asked, not masking his distrust in heroes types.
“Of course it is, I don’t keep secrets concerning my personal life from her.” I said to them, hinting that anything that was not Ghost related business was alright to share with her around.
