Batman was in the control room trying his best to fix the transportation panels and temporarily reverse the damage Superman had done to the system, so they could get out of there and help deal with whatever disaster had befallen earth and it's inhabitants.
He looked around and observed how his fight with Superman had destroyed every space vehicle he could have used as an alternative to the transport system.
Batman was going to be stuck up there for a while and with no way of contacting earth, until now.
"Cyborg, come in. Cyborg." Batman said, testing the communication he had just fixed to see if he could get a signal on Cyborg. The screeching sound of radio frequencies held Batman and the Martian in a bit of suspense.
"Batman, is that you?" Cyborg's voice reverberated through the speaker.
"Yes, I was finally able to get hold of you." He said. "Give me an update." Batman ordered, not giving room for any touchy-feelings reunion.
"Thank God you're alright." Cyborg replied with relief in his voice, only to come to a sudden stop as his voice became a bit more serious.
"I ain't gonna lie, it's not looking good over here Bat… It's bad, like really bad." Cyborg reported.
"Give me a full update on the details, Martian Manhunter and I would be there soon enough." Cyborg filled Batman in on what was going on down on earth and how the League members had to divide their forces so they could contain the invasion.
Some of the League members had engaged in battles that could end their lives if they happened to make the wrong move, or just weren't lucky enough to win the fight.
Batman maintained a stoic look on his face as he digested the briefing. He looked calm on the outside but inside he was just itching to get down there and help send the invaders back to Apokalips.
"You got all that, didn't you?" Batman asked no one in particular as he ended the transmission.
"Of course, I did." Superman replied as he stepped forward.
Back when Batman held the kryptonite spear in hand and was about to stab Superman, he didn't go for the kill.
Instead he stabbed Superman's shoulder blade and torso, avoiding vital organs in the process.
Batman exposed him to more kryptonite gas and kept torturing him until he was at the brick of death. Martian Manhunter tried to stop him but Batman was one hell of a stubborn human.
He intended to torture the crap out of Superman untill he was too focused on the pain that Lex Luthor's psychic hold over him might just weaken. "If he can't break the hold Lex has over you, it's better I just kill you so you die as the hero which the world remembers." Batman stated as he continued to cut and stab Superman.

He once thrust the spear into Superman's thigh and slowly twisted it, torturing him until he was in a puddle of his own blood. After a while, the pain was all he could think about and that was when he lost the urge to do Lex Luthor's bidding, like he had been doing over the past month.
Back to the present, "I've got an idea." Superman said. Now he was back to his senses and offered to carry Batman in one of the damaged vehicles which still had its oxygen system intact, while Martian Manhunter flew alongside him back to earth.
After taking another look around at the damaged vehicles, he stroked his chin as he finally spoke up. "Agreed." Batman replied him, the idea seemed promising enough, that it just might work.
…
While all that was going on, Leonard Snart a.k.a Captain Cold and Heatwave, broke into the biggest museum in the city of Metropolis. It held the most valuable and priceless items among the cities around it.
"A city that is out of order, is ours for the taking!" Mick Rory exclaimed, backing up his statement with a laugh as he used one arm to swiped every jewelry into a huge duffel bag in his other hand.
"Haha!!! Good one. How about, a lawless city means free for all. No restrictions to any door or building, so technically we aren't even robbing the place. We are just picking up what someone left behind, unprotected and could be lost in this disaster." Snart said as he broke the glass case protecting a set of jewelry which belonged to a royal family. The alarms went off but there was no security to step in and the police had their hands tied up already.
"True, we'll help them keep these extremely priceless items safe and sound in our vaults, even after selling them for money." Rory replied as he laughed out.
"Hurry up, we have to leave this city as soon as we can." Snart said, wrapping up his thievery.
"Why… But it's fun owning the place to ourselves without having to break in, and not worrying about pesky security guards." Rory remarked, not wanting to leave but rob the place dry.
"Do you want to die?" Snart asked him. "It's only a matter of time before the utter destruction going on out there in the city reaches this part of it. It isn't safe to be here any longer." He warned.
"How many times do we get the chance at a lawless city?" He asked, taking slow steps at Snart. Not minding the broken sha of glass he crushed beneath his boot as he continued. "Let us bask in the feeling of freedom, for as long as we can."
"We've already emptied their vult, all that's left is for us to get out of here." Snart pressed on as they continued to debate until they heard a loud sound from the roof, and something heavy came crashing down.
Snart and Rory quickly hid themselves from sight and took care to observe the situation. Taking a closer look, they saw a man dressed in a green and yellow bug costume. He seemed to be the one to crash into the building.
The man dressed in a bug costume sat himself up against a pillar, he reached for his head as he groaned a little. "Had enough?" A voice came from above.
Looking up, they saw Shazam crackling with lightning as he hovered in mid air, slowly descending down the hole the strange looking man had fallen through.
"Not quite." He replied, standing to his feet.
"I see we have ourselves an audience." He said as he turned to look in the direction Captain Cold and HeatWave were hiding. Although Snart and Rory remained hidden, he was able to sense them due to his heightened senses.
He dashed at them at superspeed but just as he made an appearance behind them, he got a fist on the face from Shazam.
"Get out of here." Shazam instructed as he watched Mantis get back on his feet. Shazam gave a spear dive at Mantis who glided backwards on his feet as he held on to Shazam's waist, got proper hold of him before smashing him through the solid walls of the museum.
Snart and Rory quickly grabbed their bags of spoils and valuables, as they calmly walked to the door with art canvases in hand, exiting like they weren't just in any form of danger.
Mantis lifted both hands into the air as yellow energy crackled around them. Shazam on the other hand did the same with his lightning as both combatants directed their fully charged attacks at one another.
There was a sudden explosion as the attacks collided against each other. Shazam tried to look through the dark smoke which surrounded him, when Mantis suddenly came through the smoke and gave Shazam a blow so powerful enough that it sent him into a building.
As Shazam made his way out of the rubbles, Mantis was right there to deliver a blow which sent him through another building. But this time Shazam was prepared for him and flew towards Manti at superspeed, grabbing hold of him and smashing him against a commercial building.
He summoned lightning from the sky as it instantly struck Mantis through the grounds and into the sewers.
"Seems only fitting if you asked me, a roach in its natural habitat." Shazam taunted, having a smug look on his face as he carefully lowered himself from the sky.
Mantis flew out to the surface and grabbed hold of a car by the road. Solid ice quickly spread across every inch of the car's body as Manti used his super strength and hurled the solid-ice car right at Shazam who was quick enough to escape impact.
Mantis used the car as a diversion against Shazam, appearing right in front of him and with yellow energy swirling around his fist. He blowed Shazam into a tanker, resulting in a massive explosion.
