Chapter 9: Amethyst Orb + Arkanis

Chapter 9: Amethyst Orb + Arkanis

As Reese's mind cleared from the surge of new sensations and understanding, he found himself facing the old man with newfound clarity and curiosity, even though he was still afraid of the old man.

The Elder stood before Reese with an aura of ageless wisdom, his form draped in a robe of deep indigo that seemed to shimmer with the faintest hint of starlight. His weathered face was lined with the traces of countless years, yet his purple eyes sparkled with a vitality that belied his age.

'What mesmerizing eyes,' Reese thought with amazement.

With a sense of nervousness, he waited for the old man to speak, eager to learn more about his enigmatic presence within the purple dome.

The old man's voice, now comprehensible to Reese, resonated with a wisdom that seemed to echo around the dome they inhabited. "Greetings, young one," the old man began, his words carrying a weight that contradicted his frail appearance. "I am known as Elder Azulon Cain, but you can just call me Elder Azulon. You must be wondering why you are here."

'Elder Azulon Cain? What a weird name! It's like a sci-fi movie name.' Reese listened intently, his curiosity piqued by the old man's introduction.

"Yes, why am I here, and what is this place?" Reese asked, his voice tinged with a mixture of apprehension and fascination. Elder Azulon's gaze softened, as though he could sense Reese's inner turmoil. "I brought you here," Elder Azulon explained, his voice carrying a little bit of sadness. "I have been here on your planet for countless years, waiting, believing that someday someone will be able to find The Amethyst Ord. And most importantly, to pass on my inheritance, or it will forever disappear."

Reese was shocked after hearing Elder Azulon's words. 'Brought me here? coutless years? Amethyst Ord? Inheritance? Wait, wait, this is so confusing,'

"Wait a minute, Elder Azulon, can you please explain it clearly?" Reese asked.

"Oh, my apologies, Young..." Before the old man could finish, he was interrupted by Reese.

"Reese," he said.

"Pardon?" The old man was confused.

"My name is Reese, Reese Urban," Reese answered.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to ask your name. Good name, by the way. Now where was I? Oh yeah, how brought you here, right?" Elder Azulon asked Reese. "Yes,"

"Well then, Reese, it's like this." Then Elder Azulon explained how and why he brought Reese here inside the Amethyst Orb. Reese was shocked to know the reason. He did not realize that the glowing marble he found in that cave was actually inside his body all along, and it was called Amethyst Orb. It automatically went inside his body after it absorbed a little bit of blood from his finger that he scraped when he fell to the pond. As for why he was here inside the purple sphere, it was simple: Elder Azulon slowly drained Reese's vitality so that he could bring Reese inside the sphere using Elder Azulon's spiritual power. Bringing Reese's body here without draining his vitality first was very taxing to Elder Azulon.

"So it's like that. Wait! How can I get out of here?" Reese Elder Azulon worriedly.

"You don't have to worry about that. Your body is already linked to the purple sphere because of the blood it absorbs from you. To get out of here, you just have to will the Amethyst Orb to get you out. But you can't get out without my permission, for now," Elder Azulon explained as he smiled.

Hearing Elder Azulon's explanation, Reese let out a sigh of relief. "Thank God, I thought I would be trapped here. But you will let me go, right?"

"Yes, Young Reese," Elder Azulon reassured Reese.

"Well, enough of this; you must be curious about this place and the reason why I brought you here, right?" Elder Azulon asked as he looked at Reese.

Reese looked at Elder Azulon for a moment before nodding. "Yes, and earlier you were talking about inheritance, right?" Without saying a word, Elder Alzulon nodded.

"Correct, but first let me let you know why I'm here on your planet. Yes, I am not from your planet; I am from a higher universe, where the spiritual energy is denser than this universe, and my planet is called....Arkanis," Elder Azulon said as he looked at Reese's dumbfounded reaction.

'What? This old man is from another planet. Higher universe? What does that mean? Is this old man an alien? ' This Elder Azulon is the answer to the question everyone on this planet was wondering, 'Are we alone in the universe?' Reese thought filled with so many questions.

'Arkanis' again; it's a sci-fi kind of name,' Reese thought.

"In my world," Elder Azulon began, his voice rich with the echoes of distant worlds, "we practiced cultivation—a path of enlightenment and power that allowed individuals to transcend the limitations of mortal existence." Reese listened intently as Elder Azulon spoke, his mind racing with the curiosity of what he was hearing. Cultivation—powerful beings, beasts, and demons fighting for supremacy in a world struggle for dominance. It was a concept that seemed almost surreal in its scope and magnitude. "In my world, the strong reigned supreme," Elder Azulon continued, his gaze distant as he spoke of a time long past.

As Reese absorbed Elder Azulon's words, he couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the thought of a universe filled with such incredible beings. It was a world unlike anything he had ever imagined—a world where the boundaries between reality and myth blurred into one.

"But why have you come here?" Reese asked, his voice tinged with curiosity and a hint of uneasiness.

'If what Elder Azulon said was true, then he might have the power to threaten earth, and we will be at his mercy.' A chill ran down on Reese's back as he thought of the possibility. Sensing Reese's uneasiness, Elder Azulon's gentle demeanor softened even further. With a compassionate smile, he approached Reese, his presence radiating a soothing aura.

"Young Reese," Elder Azulon said, carrying a reassuring tone, "I sense that you are apprehensive, and I understand your concerns. But please, allow me to reassure you."

Elder Azulon offered Reese a weary smile, the lines of age etched deep into his features. "Ah, Young Reese," he replied, his voice tinged with resignation, "the truth is that I am not as powerful as I once was."

Elder Azulon sighed, his gaze drifting to the shimmering surface of the Amethyst Orb. "You see, Young Reese, I am only a soul fragment that my original soul left here to protect the Amethyst Orb. Over the years, as I waited for a successor to emerge, I have gradually weakened."

"Left behind by your original soul? Soul fragment? What do you mean?" Reese was confused.

"You don't have to know that, Young Reese. It's useless for you to know this," Elder Azulon said with a gentle smile.

Knowing he would not get an answer from Elder Azulon, Reese asked another question that he was curious about. "Elder Azulon," Reese began, his voice earnest, "how did your original soul come to leave you here in the Amethyst Orb?"

Elder Azulon's eyes darkened with the weight of memory as he recounted the harrowing events of his past. "It was a time of treachery," he began, his voice tinged with sorrow. "My enemies and allies alike turned against me, seeking to claim the power of the Amethyst Ord for their own."

Reese listened intently to Elder Azulon's words. "What happened next?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Elder Azulon took a deep breath, steeling himself to recount the tale. "In the midst of the battle and destruction, my original body was surrounded and destroyed," he explained. "But my original soul, driven by a fierce determination to protect the power of the Amethyst Orb, managed to escape." Elder Azulon paused for a moment before he continued. "Then my original soul retrieved the Amethyst Orb and left a small portion of my original soul, imbued with the essence of who I am; then my original soul executed an ancient technique to propel the Amethyst Orb into the vast universe." Elder Azulon paused for a bit, then continued. "I don't know if my original soul is alive or not." Elder Azulon said it with seriousness in his voice.

Reese felt a chill run down his spine again as Elder Azulon recounted the treachery that had befallen him.

"How did you get here on planet Earth?" Reese asked another question.

"Earth?" Elder Azulon asked in confusion. 'What an odd name'

If Reese could hear Elder Azulon's thoughts, he would definitely be dumbstruck.

"Yes, this planet that we are on is called Earth," Reese answered.

After hearing the name of the planet he was on, Elder Azulon was enlightened, but he did not dwell on it. So he proceeded to answer Reese's question.

"It was merely a coincidence," Elder Azulon explained with a shrug. "My original soul did not seek out this planet, nor did my original soul even know of its existence before my arrival here."

Reese furrowed his brow in confusion. "A coincidence?" he echoed, surprised by the simplicity of the explanation.

"Yes," Elder Azulon affirmed, his expression calm. "Sometimes, fate has a way of leading us to unexpected places, and it seems that my journey led me here to Earth."

"And now, Young Reese, are you willing to accept my inheritance and the Amethyst Orb? Elder Azulon asked Reese out of the blue with hope in his eyes.
