Felina (normal adult cat size) laid on the window sill and basked in the sunlight with her legs and tail stretched out as far as she could stretch them. Codex was lazily sprawled on top of her futon with the bedsheet barely covering her feet as she loudly snored.
Codex yawned and rolled onto her front before pushing herself up and falling backwards onto her butt. Codex yawned again and she rubbed her eye before she lazily opened her eyes. Codex peered around and repeatedly blinked in confusion at where she was before remembering the events of last night.
"Oh... yeah, I managed to escape those robo-guards thanks to... Mr Ion," Codex mumbled incoherently to herself as she pulled the hood of her onesie over her head. Codex meandered her way out of the bedroom, through the living room and into the mini-kitchen. Codex looked around the kitchen with a lost expression on her face as Felina materialized on the kitchen window sill while wearing a purple dinosaur-themed cat-shaped onesie.
"Is there any juice here?" Codex tiredly asked. Felina held a paw over her mouth as she pondered Codex's question before she shook her head. Codex was slightly disappointed at the answer but watched as Felina hopped onto her shoulder before pointing towards the apartment's front door. Felina coaxed Codex to leave the apartment; Codex followed Felina's directions and left Ion's apartment.
Codex continued to follow Felina's directions; she slowly made her way downstairs and peeked her head around a doorframe. Codex scanned her vision across the empty cafe and, after confirming that even Catherine wasn't in the cafe, Codex slowly snuck through to behind the cafe counter. Felina pointed at a particular cupboard and Codex opened it to find a stash of strawberry juice cartons. Codex asked if it was okay for her to have one of the juice cartons and Felina nodded her head.
Codex shrugged and grabbed one of the cartons before sitting on the floor. Codex peacefully drank the strawberry juice as Felina heard the sounds of faint footsteps. Codex's drink speed began to slowly decrease in speed as a thought entered her mind.

"Wait... when Mr Ion was talking to the robo-guards he mentioned something about an ex-lab rat; w-was he referring- wait did he figure out who I really am or at least that I came from that lab?" Codex thought mentally and was about to take another sip of the strawberry juice.
"So this is where you ran off too: for a second there, I thought you had run away," Catherine jokingly said as she popped her head from the doorframe that lead to the staircase. Catherine's sudden appearance easily startled Codex which caused her to squeeze the juice carton tightly and splashed the carton's contents all over her face. Catherine hurried over to Codex and quickly wiped her face with a towel while amusedly apologizing. After Catherine finished drying off Codex's face, Codex got a better look at Catherine's face and instantly recognised her from last night.
"Oh, it's the sleeping cafe maid," Codex muttered which made Catherine half-heartedly giggle.
"Yeah... I guess I can't argue with that description," Catherine said as she asked Felina if she could tell Ion that Codex was awake. Felina nodded her head before she and her clothing disappeared.
"So... Codex was it?" Catherine asked as she giddily tapped the tips of her index fingers together. Codex nodded her head to confirm Catherine's question.
"Would you like me to make you some pancakes?" Catherine asked, with Codex ecstatically nodding her head and accepting Catherine's offer instantly with no reserves.
Meanwhile, Ion soared through the air as he carried a large box with multiple large neon golden rings while evading multiple flying vehicles. Felina appeared on Ion's back and lightly tapped Ion on the back of his head.
"Oh, she woke up sooner than I expected a kid too," Ion commented as he checked a holographic screen that appeared in front of his face. Ion commented it was a good thing he only accepted two courier requests and mentioned he should check in on Codex before accepting any more requests.
