"How can you be so lax?" I ask Jonathan.
"You overestimate their chances. And you heard Hunter. Even if they beat us, they can't win."
"And don't forget what our comrades will be going through! We're all rusty, and the stakes are high. Don't forget, this Hunter woman doesn't care what happens to us, so long as her goals are met. To me, she's no different than Amado."
"As our leader, you should have more faith in your allies."
"I would if we weren't so divided."
I reflect back on the plan and our preparations. Our main goal is to bide time, should we be unable to beat our opponents.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
(Why we're waiting for this Oren kid to finish whatever he's doing is beyond me. Hunter should finish getting the kid's blade appraised long before then, so why wait? Isn't the return from selling the blade enough?)
Jonathan looks to the security camera footage.
"Is everyone in place?" I ask.
"Mhm." Jonathan nods.
Before he lets out a sigh.
"Just like Amado, huh? Hehe. Funny how so little changes. Guess we're only good for being puppets."
"Like you said before, show some faith in our allies."
G....o....r...o....
?
Go...ro... Go...ro...
Jonathan and I look at the screen showing the closed off entrance to the mining facility. Some of our comrades go over to the fortified garage shutters and peek through the glass middle section.
Goro. Goro. Goro. Goro.
In that instant, some start yelling to each other.
Gorogorogorogorogorogorogorogoro.
Panicking, they quickly go over to the shutters and press their weight against them, as if to brace for something.
GOROGOROGOROGOROGOROGOROGOROGORO!!!
The security camera footage begins to shake. Our allies brace somethings even more with fear on their faces increasing with every second.
BBBBBBBBBBAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Here they come." I say, as Jonathan and I head out of the security room...
To go greet our uninvited guests.
