Fear The Shadow Man - Tyler

Fear The Shadow Man - Tyler

The goblin child was dragging my hand. I alone went forward to meet its mommy.

"Hero! I found a Hero!"

The goblin was yelling out as he dragged me towards a hole dug into the side of a hill.

Other goblins crawled out of the hole and circled us. They all looked at me in wonder and amazement.

"Mommy said only a hero could save us and I did it. I found a hero!"

the goblin child was jumping up and down.

I counted the goblins as they danced around me cheering.

"Is this all of you?" I bent down to talk to the little goblin.

"The big gobs wont be back for a few days, but this is all the little gobs! You will save us right hero?"

"Yes." I paused my speech. An Ice spear appeared above each of the gobs including the one in front of me. "I am a hero."

The spears fell and each of the goblins had stopped moving. My phone buzzed at the same time they had died. I was expecting there to be a wave of dizziness from using so much mana at once. I pulled out my phone to check the notifications. I had gained a level and a half from killing off the fifteen little goblins.

I calmed my breathing. A hero needs to remain calm no matter what he was about to see.

The inside of the cave was dark but had a strange glowing rock in the center of it. It was enough to see by. It was too much to see by.

Kyle's face was facing the entrance way. his arms were missing and his chest was ripped open exposing his spine and lack of internal organs. I felt the vile rise from my stomach at the site but I somehow managed to swallow it down.

"Is that you Kevin?" a weak voice came from one of the walls. Slowly I walked towards it avoiding the corpse of the boy before me. "Ty, don't look at me."

The voice had seen me as I moved around the crystal.

I steeled my will for what I thought I was going to see.

I was not as ready as I thought I would be.

Six girls all under the age of thirty were tied to the wall. All six had tear stained cheeks. All six had bite marks where goblin teeth had sunk into their flesh. All six were naked. All six were pregnant. All six had their legs forced apart exposing their sex towards the crystal.

I gently and slowly freed them from their bindings and handed each of them a blanket from my inventory. I didn't have any clothing that could cover their oversized bellies.

I didn't say a word. they all had a look of shame in their eyes as I came close to each of them.

They all had looked hopeful for a split second when the girl with the biggest belly had spoken the name Kevin, but that look was now just shame.

I led them all back outside of the cave and then I dragged the corpses of the dead goblins inside. I placed the corpses against the wall where the six girls were tied. the corpses were laid out to look like a man.

Abigale gave me a faint smile when I returned from the cave. The smile soon faded away. The other girls looked scared now that they were outside of the cave. Every sound to them made them jump.

An Ice lance formed in my hand and I started walking still in silence. Abigale guided the other five to follow me.

We made it back to the camp and the girls feet were all torn apart from branches and rocks. Each step for them left a bloody foot print.

"Oh my god, Abby." Dee ran towards us from the camp as soon as she saw us.

Other female members of the camp ran forward with her. My mind was on fire.

I needed to vent my anger and everybody around me could see it. Nobody came near me as I started walking in the direction that we had come from the day before.

Icicles started forming on the trees as I passed underneath them. my Ice lance burned hot in my hand.

I had gotten about a mile from the group when my mana went wild. I unleashed my rage and mana in one burst. The ground around me had become a winter wonder land.

Snow flakes started falling from the sky.

I stood there slowly breathing in the cold air. The snow flakes slowly turned into rain and the ice trees melted in the hot summer air.

A warm touch pressed against my back and I closed my eyes.

"Three of the girls just want to die." Dee was whispering. "They have been giving birth to goblins for the last seven days giving birth to up to six of them every day and a half."

I grabbed hold of her hand as she placed it on my chest. "I am not strong enough to grant them that wish." Tears rolled down my cheek.

"It's not your wish to grant." She hugged me tighter. "We gave them a tent, they three wanted to kill the creatures inside of them before they could come forth into the world."

"And Abigale?" I turned towards her and the camp. A shadow stood just outside of the ground I had covered in ice a while ago.

"She wants to say sorry to Chase and to Kevin, Like me she is no longer a hero." The shadow started to walk forward towards us.

Fresh tear streaks were on her face. She was now dressed but her stomach was exposed to the cold air.

"Ty, I am sorry." Her voice was broken. She had started crying anew.

I pulled her into the hug with Dee and I as soon as she was in reach.

I could feel the goblins moving around inside of her. Knowing what they were I was disgusted.

"We are still a few days from the meeting spot, the fucktards will be out of you by then."

"No, I am sorry because I don't think I will be able to deal with the creatures." her face was a mess. the tears made her look ugly. She was never this ugly.

"Maybe, Maybe not." I couldn't look down on the two of them and their crying faces.

"Kill my children when they are born for me." Her face was buried beside Dee's in my chest. I knew I was just a replacement for him but I would comfort her until she got to say her words to him.

We stood there in silence the three of us crying. nobody moved for most of the day.

It was dinner time when we had come across another group of travelers. They stayed with us for the night. It was late at night when I heard stories being told around the camp fire. It was a story I had told about the seven heroes. The man telling the story had a healing skill and was spreading the tail like it was fact.

He was smiling from ear to ear as he came up to me after that.

He was showing me his phone and what he had learned.

"My faith went up!" This was a first for anybody who had a healing skill that required faith. he was grinning from ear to ear and was asking if he could borrow my laptop to right the word of the seven.

That night I spent the whole night being a battery for him to write out our tales as scriptures for his book. It took him less time then he thought it would and he instantly shared it once finished among some Hero Network. He didn't know who had made it available but the Hero network was spread from person to person as they met and traveled.

When I tried to Join the Hero Network their was no reply on my phone but there was constant messages on his.

We set up camp early the next day so that the remaining three girls could give birth to their demons. Three tents had been put facing each other. One for each of the ladies. I sat in the middle of the tents and camp goers placed up a make shift wall around us.

It was a waiting game.

I brought out my laptop and received a message from someone who hadn't messaged anyone in the last three weeks. The SOS was suspicious for me.

I replied with caution not wanting to give too much away but I had to make sure that Kevin was still alive.

I double checked my phone as soon as I had seen that the person on the other end was not Kevin. The goblin number was rising today. I tapped on the name goblin and checked its info.

"Elder Goblins tell a story to scare the child goblins into staying inside their cave. They have grown to fear the shadow man."

Dee brought out the first of the ugly bastards to me. It was smaller then a normal baby but its teeth and claws were already fully formed.

The user on the other end of the chat had changed. This person was useless. Unlike normal people who at least knew some basic knowledge of games and spread their points out this girl had somehow made it to level three with out the need to spread out her stat points. This was not the part that bothered me tho. This girl was also somehow acting as a battery for Kevin's computer for a long period of time while still suffering under the effects of mana sickness.

I took a break from talking to the useless girl to write her out a leveling guide and how to distribute her stat points. This was constantly interrupted by my baby killing.

All Goblins are evil from birth, Their innocence is that they don't know that they are evil until they want sex.

There were almost thirty goblin babies in all, Most of them were born from Abigale while the other two each only had six each. I couldn’t stand the sound coming from Abigale’s tent any longer.

I felt sorry for her.

The person on Kevin’s computer finally went offline. That person made a great battery for being only level three. I sent the guide to Kevin’s auto print folder then went and stretched my legs.

It was going to be a long two day walk for the camp.
