Skill learned Animal Taming You have found that you can get animals to like you and become companions.
I got a surprise when I looked at the skill. Was this thing called an ‘animal’? If so, was this why the odd leaves on it did not seem to be any type of plant? Looking at it now I was able to get a better look from it not moving so much.
The colours were like before but contrary to what I assumed. It was just like my leaves with it staying affixed to the leaf-thing. I was even able to find it was slightly squishy comparing it to myself though when I did too much it made a noise. The ‘animal’ itself seemed to be what the system called a ‘bird’.
As it was no longer trying to move away from me I was easily able to place it near my tree within my territory. As I did and focused on it I found that it was really different from me. The leaf-ish things where only like an outer layer of bark. It did have lower and upper trunks but they were all oddly angles of thin compared to my body. I also noticed that most of the layer inside its leaf-bark was what made it squishy. The last area I focused around was the top branch of it were I found almost nothing similar to myself. There was a hard pointy thing coming off there that was harder than my bark and a hard to check structure on either side of the pointy thing.
All in all, it was interesting. I next brought up the screen for the skill when I saw something I was not expecting. My mana regeneration was up to 1.4 per hour but my mana was around 751. It was not huge but it was also not expected. Looking at the skill soon told me why.
Animal Taming You have found that you can get animals to like you and become companions. You can have 5 tamed animals but you must take care of each or they will leave. Taming an animal will share 10% of your mana and experience with it and It with you. The animal must be willing of forced to accept (Costs 50 mana)
That explained why that happened but what was experience?
Experience Gained from training to gain for points to attributes. Training by practice will give less experience than training by conflict.
Before I could do much else I was interrupted by the little bird making a sound. Looking at it the thing seemed to stare at me for some time. Not knowing what it may want I decided to look at its status.

Thinking about what I just did I tried to do the same with the other animals I could see. Each time I tried to do so I was unable to do so. I tried several more times before I stopped to look back at my bird.
Affliction
Hunger You want sustenance. Thirst You wants liquid, likely water.
These were new to me. I do need sustenance but I have always gotten it from mana through my tree. My tree got really only needed it for growth so I got it through mana siphon and photosynthesis. I have even gotten water through the rain so I have never needed to focus on it. Thinking like this I tried giving it my mana like what I did to tame it.

Nothing seemed to happen for it for some time so by the time my mana was getting low again I was forced to stop. Even after I stopped nothing seemed to happen but looking at the screen showed something different. Hunger seemed to have changed to mana fever. This gave slight fatigue from infusion of unfamiliar mana.
It seemed to do nothing other than that slight fatigue effect so I was going to start looking for water. I knew that it rained every couple of days so it seemed fine to wait for that. The next thing I decided to do was see if I could do more with my mana. A ping came up right as I was thinking what I should do.
Tamed animal detected. Please give identification.
This seemed like the screen from what I first remembered. Thinking for a moment, I decided to give it the name of something I liked.
Sun, has been accepted as a name.
At the selection of the name Sun glowed for a moment before it dissipated. Nothing seemed to change other than the name showing up on the screen so I continued on with movement. It would seem the more I did the less time it took for each try.
The next day I saw that the sky did not look like it would rain any time soon. Looking over at Sun I saw the bird was just sitting under the tree. After a little longer I started to wonder why my bird was not moving like all the others I usually see around in the trees. Looking at the screen made me think I was doing something wrong. Thirst had changed to dehydration and said that if it was not rectified soon it could lead to death.
I was curious why this was explained like this until I looked at the explantation of death. It apparently was like what happens if I were to lose all sunlight and mana. Sun was in the stage of wilting before perishing. Seeing this I was near unable to think.
I did not was Sun to die. Sun was like me, I was alive so I would do as much as I could to keep my companion alive as well.
Thinking for some time I did not know of a way to force rain with what I could do. I tried to move any of the water that I absorbed only to fail as my tree converted most of it to growth as soon as I got it. I tried to do so in reverse when I found this out and seemed to have some success, but it would have taken days or more to do it. I even tried doing the same with the grass around be with the little expectation. I felt it could happen but would again take to long.
It had taken enough time to try this for the sun to appear over the trees. I suspected I was running out of time by now and felt like I had failed. I was still trying to think of anything, either if I could manipulate mana into water somehow or make something like the dew during some sunrises happen.
By this time I had not been able to think of anything I could do. I was near depleted on stamina from moving around my glade trying to come up with anything I could do. Standing over Sun I was overcome with how I had been unable to do anything. I felt like I was laying where Sun was. My vitality lowering as time went on. Thinking of this I felt something fall from my top trunk.
Focusing on whatever this was I felt excited. It was liquid, water maybe. This may be able to help Sun! The liquid slid down and fell in front of Sun. Slowly Suns beak went to it and before long it was gone. My excitement was short lived as there was not enough strange liquid to make dehydration disappear, but sun was safe for now. Jubilant with this outcome I was able to sit next to Sun, it was enough for now.
After this thought some more strange liquid fell near Sun. looking at this I moved closer to my tree and using territory found the liquid was actually water and was coming from divots on my trunk were my perception was coming from. I did not focus on that long as I went back to the water that was still near Sun.
Focusing on the water I tried using the mana that I had recovered over the night to do anything to get more. Using mana on it I found it had a structure that I could probably replicate. Taking some time I was able to memorize the pattern some. I was looking at it until Sun shifted over to get more. This made Suns affliction of dehydration lower to thirst.
After this I was determined to get more water before anything similar could happen again. I spent the rest of the day trying to copy waters pattern. I was able to get a couple drops to form and got Sun to drink them over the day before I used mana again to suffice for sustenance. When I took the time away from trying to make water to feed Sun I got another ping.
Affinity gained Water You can affect water with your mana.
Skill learned Water creation Through effort and practice you have learned to make water from your mana. This is effected by your mana and water affinity (Costs 20 mana per drop)
Looking at this skill made me happier than when I got mana affinity. I can make water for Sun without to much trouble. What was bothering me now was these skills all said that they upgraded with efficiency but They did not show what they were at. Thinking this brought up a screen I had not seen before.

This was somewhat useful. I found that all the skills could reach a maximum or something similar. Although seeing movement so low compared to something like mana mist that I had never practiced made me wonder about some aspects of skills.
I knew that I now needed to expand on my water to at least give to Sun and work on mana to help with growth. The problem with this was I still had to take time in between any type of practice to regenerate mana. I knew it would take a long time to do but if I can at least keep Sun hydrated enough until it rained next I could increase both mana and water more. If I was not using mana to make water I could focus try to increase affinity faster.
