Chapter 6: Running Away

Chapter 6: Running Away

Adrian put down the [Ultimate Brick] secret art and sat down to meditate it a little bit. In his head, a red brick appeared and was placed gently onto the void. After that, another brick came and was careful placed next to the first brick. This cycle continued until there were nine bricks in a row.

After that row, a new row of bricks started to build starting with one brick being placed on top of the first brick of the first row. After the second row was completed, the third started to build.

This was the way to cultivate the [Ultimate Brick] secret art, to imagine bricks! Well that wasn't exactly it, but the objective was to create something by using imaginary bricks.

This secret art had three levels: small success stage, large success stage, and "One with The Brick".

First, to achieve small success, one had to build something using 999 bricks.

Second, to achieve large success, one had to build something using 9999 bricks.

Lastly, to achieve "One with the Bricks", one had to build something using 99999 bricks!

Although it sounded really simple, in truth this manual was a lot more profound than it seems.

To actually enter any of the levels, you would need to build a complete a perfect structure. You could build anything, as long as it was completed and perfect with the required amount of bricks. Still, in theory, this way of cultivation was easy and not at all hard.

After ten minutes, Adrian built a wall structure of 9 columns by 111 rows of bricks. When the 999th bricked landed, the wall glowed with a golden light, symbolizing that the structure was valid and that he reached the small success stage.

After reaching the small success stage, he stepped out of the meditative state. He walked out of the cottage and saw a pile of old bricks. Picking one up, he played around with the brick by tossing it in the air a couple times.

He felt strangely good when he touched the brick, as though the brick was a toy that accompany him since childhood. He looked around and saw that the cottage was actually located on a mountain.

"What a nice view..." Looking at the land from atop the mountain was a truly wonderful feeling. He took a deep breath and admire the scene. However, his face suddenly blanked.

As though dozens of lightning bolts just struck him, he dropped the brick and it fell onto his foot. Still, he ignored the pain and laughed with gusto.

"Hahaha! Since that old man left, I can finally go!" Adrian picked up the brick and then proceeded downwards. Within seconds, he crossed several hundred meters.

.....

Time passed by as the sun has reach high noon, but Adrian was still advancing at a usually pace. Although he traveled for several hundreds of kilometers, there wasn't even as much a drop of sweat on his face.

With the movement-type divine ability [Spring-Autumn Leaf Breeze] powered by the green mist energy, if Adrian was still on Earth, he could travel around the planet within a week and wouldn't even expend half of the green mist energy much less this region which Adrian guessed wouldn't be anywhere close to Earth's size.

Still, even after traveling for so far, he hasn't seen an end to it at all. However, after leaving this place, his first goal was to find civilization and get a sense of where he was. From then on, he would make his way back to Westwind Mountain in the Cloudsea Country to meet up with the Tang Clan again.

Thinking of the Tang Clan, his mind flashed to memories about his father and mother. Although he still remember his previous parents and still cared for them a lot, these new parents of his were also people that he deeply love.

Perhaps others saw that he lost five years of precious childhood with his parents, but to Adrian who had a soul of over two decades and soul fragments of cultivators who lived for multiple chaos cycle, he could see and appreciate the deep love his parents had for him.

He rubbed his eyes a little before an intense desire to find and return home burned in his eyes.

"I will come home soon." Adrian said with a smile. However, it soon turned into a frown as he suddenly felt a chill. With his level of power, it was impossible for that to happen, but he made himself chill.

"What I just said... why do I feel like I just raised a death flag?" He gave a bitter laugh. "Nah, there's no way."

Unfortunately, he jinxed himself.

RAWR!!!

From a mountain that was approximately 100 kilometers from him, a deafening roar that could shatter the earth and make someone piss themselves thunder out.

The roar traveled like wildfire and spread all across the region. Immediately, all the creatures within the region went berserk.

Adrian looked to the side and saw several hundreds of animals charging towards him. Scared witless, he powered [Spring-Autumn Leaf Breeze] to maximum power and soared into the air. After flying for over 30 meters, he stopped and look below.

On the grassy plain, he could see millions, if not, several hundreds of thousands of beast stampeding through the plain. There were all types of creature down below. Some were vicious-looking snakes, others looked like a cross between a bird and a lion, and there was one that had a smile body. In fact, several aerial-type beasts were flying at around his height as well. However, they didn't even spare a glance at him.

This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source.

Still, he could tell that all of these creatures had a similar objective: running away from the direction of the roar. At this moment, he slowly descended and landed on a brown, five-horned buffalo. This was the Brown King Buffalo that could travel as fast as three-thousand kilometers per hour. Although it wasn't the fastest beast in this "tsunami" of creatures, it was still rather quick.

Apparently, the buffalo noticed him, but didn't shake him off. Rather it couldn't bother to. It was in currently in "flight mode" and a smaller organism that was currently doing the same thing it was actually gained it empathy.

Of course, Adrian didn't know what the animal was thinking or feeling. If he did, he wouldn't have cared anyways. In a way, he thought that he actually avoided the death flag.

.....

The stampede went as long as two hours, but Adrian already got off from the buffalo as soon as he couldn't see the mountain from behind.

With the stampede going south, the mountain where the roar came from in the North, and the old man's cottage in the Southeast, Adrian decided to go southwest.

However, just when he was about to go, another earth-shattering roar blasted out.

Even though he was thousands of kilometers away from it, the roar was still painful clear to him. He covered his ears with his hand to block off some of the sound.

"IF I DON'T KILL YOU TODAY, I'LL MAKE SURE TO DO SO TOMORROW!!!"

"YOU F*CKING DAMNED PIG!!! IF YOU GIVE IT BACK NOW, I'LL GIVE YOU A CLEAN AND HONORABLE DEATH!!!"

"SHUI DONGHAI!!!"

The land rumbled, the clouds churned, and the winds screamed. Adrian could roughly guessed what happen and he rolled his eyes.

It wasn't uncommon for martial artists to take risks and adventure beyond from whence they came. No matter how large a clan was, how rich a city was, or how powerful one's parent were, a martial artist need to venture and experience the world for themselves. Even the Tang Clan couldn't just keep their Third Young Master in the house forever. At some point, Adrian would need to go out and

Only through great risks can great fortune be obtained.

In this situation, this "Shui Donghai" definitely went into some powerful beast's lair and stole its treasure.

Even though he understood, Adrian still complained. "If you're going to play house thief, at least do it quietly! Hah... such greed, anyone close to you will be struck by lightning, you know?"

.....

As the sun sets, Adrian slowed down and found a cave. He looked inside and around the cave to make sure no beast were around.

After, checking everything, he entered the cave.

The cave was rather narrow and only went as deep as ten meters. Leaning on the wall, Adrian sat down and meditate.

As the moon rises, howls and cries of animals could be heard within the distance. However, to Adrian, there was one that was particularly close.

About 30 meters from his cave was a red-scaled beast. It was over 10 meters tall, but its tail was almost double its height. But, the most prominent part of this creature were its nine horns that were shaped and aligned in a way that looked like a crown.

This beast was part of the dragon race and it was called the Red Crown Horned Dragon. Red Crown Horned Dragon usually starts with one horn and as they grow stronger, more horn would appear on their heads. The most powerful of these Red Horned Dragon were those with nine horns, such as the one in front of Adrian.

If a single-horned Red Crown Horned Dragon could contend with Houtian level martial artists, a nine-horned Red Crown Horned Dragon would be around mid-level of the Life-Destruction realm. However, because its defensive ability was so great, it can easily withstand the attack of a high-level Life-Destruction realm expert or a peak-level Wanxiang Adept!

Adrian spread his heartforce and he could now sense everything within a 50 meters radius. As a person who's trying to run away as far as possible, there's shouldn't be any reason for him to engage in battle, especially with such a powerful creature. However, this was a nine-horned Red Crown Horned Dragon.

Such a beast was extremely rare. Even in books, Adrian couldn't find too much details regarding this dragon. However, an undisputed fact about it was its horns.

Every horn of a Red Crown Horned Dragon could easily be worth several thousand True Jewels and as the dragon continues to grow stronger, each of its horns would increase in quality. A Red Crown Horned Dragon with nine horns... as long as he sells them all, he could definitely buy a few Heaven-Step treasures!

Even his clan only gave him an Earth-Step weapon, the wooden sword, and that was only because of its quality; this sword was simply used for practice.

With enough money to buy Heaven-Step treasures, he could definitely buy at least one speed-type or transportation-type treasure. This would allow him to travel faster. Even with a movement-type divine ability and the green mist energy, a Zifu Disciple could only do so much.

However, at least he was a Zifu Disciple. Although he was in another universe, the cultivation systems from the Endless Territories still applied to him, so only after becoming a Zifu Disciple, he could use storage-type treasures.

He lightly touched the silvery blue ring that he received on his ninth birthday on his left middle-finger and three talisman immediately appeared in his hands. He covered himself in heartforce, ran out of the cave, threw the talisman in the way to the walking beast, and retreated to a safe distance.

The talisman that he threw down were the Electric Fire Talisman, items that could be activated with true essence and cause great destruction.

Rumble! Rumble!

Every step that the nine-horned beast took lightly shook the earth and the trees swayed in respond. To it, it was simply having a quiet and relaxing night walk. In fact, it would sometimes look at the sky and stared at the stars and thought to itself, "Ah, how peaceful my life is..."

However, the night was just about to get livelier.

The moment the nine-horned beast touched the talisman, Adrian ignited it.

RAWR!!!

The Red Crown Horned Dragon cried and let out a whimper. It lifted up its feet and saw that the red scale from underneath had been entirely charred black.

"WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED!?" The beast thought to itself.

It was just about to move again, when suddenly, as it took another step, another explosion happened underneath its left foot.

RAWR!!!

Again, another explosion happened.

The beast took a moment to breathe before staring at the ground below it. It then began to use all of its senses, hearing the slightest sound, seeing the slightest movement, tasting the slightest change in the air, smelling the most nuances of smells, touching anything it could reach.

After two minutes, the beast calmed down and took another step.

BOOM!!!

Indeed, the Red Crown Horned Dragon stepped on all three of the Electric Fire Talisman that Adrian placed. However, unbeknownst to it, Adrian took out another three talisman. The clan gave Adrian at least 30 of these talisman to protect himself in case of an emergency.

But, even they wouldn't have guess that he would use them to practically torture a powerful beast to the brick of tears and of course, with 27 more talisman and the fact that the beast defensive ability were quite strong, this night was going to be a loud and painful one.
