Chapter 5:
Confusion was the first thing he felt as the screams of his classmates filled the room. He looked around faintly seeing the silhouettes of people running for their lives.
‘Was it a bomb?’ That was the first conclusion that Kaito came to as he felt the floor beneath his feet taken away from him. It wasn’t like there was a better idea as to what was happening.
A few more seconds went by and the light showed no sign of stopping. He tried to look around again but the silhouettes of his classmates had all vanished. And all of the screams for help had stopped completely. It was now just him remaining in the beam of light, all alone.
He looked down toward the light as an attempt to understand what exactly was happening, but the more he looked at the blinding light the brighter it seemed to get.
After a few seconds of staring directly into the light, it started to fade.
As the light died down a little bit he began to see lines. They looked like they had been drawn by a child. The lines were messy and all crossed over each other. The only shape he could pick out was a perfect circle around the edge.
It only caused more confusion as the light died down completely.
[ Welcome Traveler.

The room was pitch black and the words appeared in front of his face in a holographic glow of light. No matter where he tried to look the words followed his eyes.
“What the fuck?” He asked out loud as the situation only became more confusing to him.
“Hello, And welcome to the world known as Indrictous. I am Tarisa and I have been assigned to be your guide for the tutorial.” A woman's voice called out.
Kaito tried to look around but it was no good. The room remained pitch black, and no matter how far he stumbled forward he never came into contact with a wall.
“To cancel your tutorial. Say the words Pumpkin pie.” The voice said again.
Kaito stopped for a moment and processed what he had just heard.
“To cancel, Say Pumpkin pie? What kind of…” He began to say but was cut short by the woman's voice.
“Hehehehe, Tutorial cancelled. Welcome to Indrictious. I hope you enjoy your stay with us.” The woman’s voice called out for a final time and then another flash of light appeared before him.
“Ah!” Kaito screamed as he opened his eyes.
Faint laughter came from behind him. He took a minute to look around. He was lying on his back looking up at a beautiful blue sky.
The clouds chugged along through the sky like the billowing smoke of a steam train. He then reached his hand down next to his body, Feeling slight dampness as blades of grass intertwined with his fingers.
“I’m outside?” He asked himself quietly as he began to sit up.
Kaito was at a loss for words. He still couldn’t think straight. ‘Is this what they call shock’ He thought as he took in the scenery. There were miles upon miles of trimmed but messy grass. He seemed to be in some sort of meadow as the ground was uneven and there were humps all over the ground.
“Oh, He is finally awake.” The voice of a boy said sounding disappointed that he had opened his eyes.

Kaito didn’t reply as a hand reached out and grabbed his shoulder. “Kaito? Are you okay?” The familiar voice of his teacher called out in concern.
He flinched as he felt the hand. He wasn’t used to physical contact unless he was being beaten.
“Get away from me!” He shouted and then shuffled along the floor to gain some distance between them.
He put his hands behind him to hold his body up and then looked back to see his teacher looking upset. Behind the teacher, the rest of his classmates were all standing up and mindlessly staring at him.
“Woah… What happened to his eyes?” One of the boys from his class whispered to another whilst staring at him.
‘My eyes? What’s up with my eyes? I can see, just fine.’ He began to worry about his eyes for a moment but it wasn’t enough to take his mind off the fact that they were all now standing outside.
The teacher bent down toward him once again.
“Kaito. Tell me now! Are you okay!?” She shouted.
It was the first time he had ever heard his teacher shout. Usually, she was calm and collected but then he looked deeper. Her face was one of only concern. Kaito didn’t want to be the source of someone else's worry so he put on his best fake smile.
“Yeah, I’m okay…” He said. But didn’t sound too convinced of it.
The teacher looked back at him and sighed in relief. She then turned her attention to someone else as she turned around and ran over to a big muscular man.
“You! What is happening! Tell me at once! Did you guys drug and kidnap us! What do you want from me and my students!” She began to scream at the man.
The man looked over at the students and seemed to be inspecting them as he pulled out a small clear crystal of some kind and raised it to his eye.
His face seemed to be troubled as he looked at all of the students but with more time that went on, a grin began to form along his face.
“Hey! Stop ignoring me! I asked you a question!” The teacher shouted as she grabbed hold of his arm.
SLAP.
“Don’t touch me, woman!” The man shouted in an authoritative voice. His voice was coarse and rough. It sounded like he was tired of his job. He then looked down at the teacher who had fallen to the ground and was now clutching her face.
“Listen up kids. I had you summoned here from your own world to become Heroes to fight against the demon army. I own you. If any single one of you disagree, complain or try to go against me. You will be thrown in the dungeons never to see the light of day again!” The man shouted at everyone present.
Nobody said anything at all. A few of the students looked at each other in confusion. And the rest of them seemed to be smiling.
Kaito was still sat on the floor. ‘What? How the fuck did this happen? He can't be for real right?’ He thought as he looked over to his classmates who all seemed to be experiencing the same shock as him.
‘Is nobody going to ask him anything else? Why is everyone just accepting this?’ He looked over at the man again. He seemed to be staring right at him.
“You! Get up and come here!” The man shouted at Kaito.
Kaito looked around helplessly at his classmates. They only thing they offered him were looks of pity as the man began to walk over to him.
“Don’t make me repeat myself.” The man said as he stood over Kaito.
“Now that’s enough Redge. I sent you here to watch over the summoning. Not to threaten the future saviour's of our country.” Another man said. It sounded gentle and refined.
The man turned around quickly as a small skinny looking man walked over. He looked to be in his early thirties with long blond hair.
“Yes, Your Majesty. I was just testing their spirit! You told me they were warriors so I wanted to see their fighting spirit!” The bigger man shouted and looked scared as the smaller blond man walked closer.
“Redge, This is the exact reason father didn’t pass the throne down to you. You can’t follow a simple order. I swear if you weren’t my older brother I would have had you exiled already. Go back home and think about your mistakes.” The blond man said.
Redge gulped as his younger brother reached out and put his hand against his chest.
“Do you understand what I have told you to do?” He asked his older brother who towered over him in height.
“Yes Sir, I will go right away!” Redge shouted as his younger brother then took his hand away.
“Is that so? You don’t need my help finding your way home, do you? Hey you! Make sure he gets back home safely. I don’t want anyone else getting caught in his fits of jealousy.” The blonde man shouted to another man who was wearing a black robe.
“Yes, your Majesty.” The man called back and then brought his hand up to his heart before taking a bow and then following Redge as he walked angrily into the distance.
“I’m sorry about that Miss.” The blond man held out his hand to the teacher and then helped her stand.
“I would like to first apologise to everyone who witnessed that. My brother and I don’t have the best relationship. But he is family I have to make use of him somehow I can’t just leave him penniless so he works under me.
I hope you can look past what just happened.” He bowed his head to everyone present.
“And If I may, I would like to introduce my self to you fine young ladies and gentlemen.
I am, King Erad Andreas Ixten.” The man spoke with his same elegant tone that sounded like it took a lot of practice to master.
