“Alright, big guy,” Leo said with a chuckle, “we’re partners now. Let’s give you a name… How about… Sunny ?”
He smirked, amused by the contrast between the eagle’s dark feathers and the bright, playful name.
[Name Set: Sunny (Umbra Eagle)]
Sunny, hearing his new name, tilted his head, seeming a bit puzzled, but soon accepted it. Leo couldn’t hold back a laugh as the towering eagle, nearly four meters tall, gently nudged him, showing a surprising touch of affection.
After a moment, Leo focused his thoughts and sent a command, “Sunny, go pin down the python’s head.”
Sunny perked up, understanding his new master’s command, and hopped over to the python. With a powerful jump, he pressed his razor-sharp talons down on the python’s head, securing it firmly.
Seeing the python fully subdued, Leo approached, with sword grasped on his hand. The python was a massive creature, its head alone the size of a truck. Leo tested his sword against its tough scales, managing to cut through but realized the sheer volume of work it would take to finish it off.
Thousand of swings later, with his arms sore, the phyton finally give out.

Leo grinned as he checked his updated stats. “Not bad… a lot of experience from that one kill.” He turned to Sunny, patting his new companion’s head. “Alright, let’s grab what we can here, and then we’ll check out the python’s lair for more loot.”
Sunny nodded and began devouring the python’s remains. Leo didn’t mind; it was better to let his new partner feast, as the python’s carcass was mostly meat and bones.
While Sunny ate, Leo checked the regional chat for any updates.
Most of the messages were chaotic, but a few made him chuckle.
"I finally squashed a level 1 beetle! Got experience!"
"Help! A level 2 violet rat is after me! Someone, save me!"
"This is terrifying… I just want to go home!"
"Ha! Took down a level 2 garden worm! I'm unstoppable!"
"Teach us, oh mighty one! How did you defeat the worm?"
"We worship you, boss! Show us your ways!"
Leo shook his head, amused. It seemed many players were still struggling to get the basics down.
He switched to the world channel to see if players in other regions had made more progress.
"Has anyone else noticed? The fish near the shore are level 2! Take one down, and boom, you level up!"
This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.
"The desert lizards are super easy to defeat. Just hit level 2 myself!"
"Thank the heavens! I'm finally level 2! We can do this guys!"
Leo smirked at the chatter, satisfied with his own progress. Compared to others, he was well ahead, especially with Sunny as his pet.
Most people were either boasting about leveling up or whining over minor victories like killing level 1 ants or earthworms.
Nobody seemed to have anything new to share, especially regarding higher-level Madous.
Leo shrugged; he figured the lack of information was simply because everyone was still adapting, trying their best to surive.
After glancing away from the channels, he turned back to check on Sunny.
The eagle had torn through most of the python’s lower body, devouring a substantial amount of meat, but the upper half was still largely intact.
Leo sighed, realizing the sheer amount of meat was far more than they could eat, even if they stayed put for days. And given the conditions here, the meat wouldn’t last that long.
“Alright, let’s not waste this,” Leo muttered to himself.
After picking through the python’s remains, he extracted the more valuable parts—tendons, eyes, and some scales—and stashed them in his inventory.
He then listed the remaining meat on the auction house.
He didn’t need much right now, so he set the price to be something unusual or rare: information or unique items.
If he didn’t get offers that interested him, he wouldn’t go through with the trade.
Setting the anonymity option, Leo climbed onto Sunny’s back and tapped his shoulder.
“Alright, buddy, let’s head to the python’s lair.”
Sunny let out an enthusiastic screech, catching the thrill of the command and ready for action.
With a powerful sweep of his wings, Sunny soared into the sky, leaving behind a massive python skeleton and the bloody remains of their recent battle.
As they flew over the forest, Leo noticed that the auction house and world chat were in a frenzy.
“Did you guys see that? Level 10 Electric Phyton meat! This guy actually killed a level 10 Madou!?”
“I can’t even handle a level 3, and someone out here is hunting level 10? Unbelievable…”
“Luck, that’s all. No way they could kill a level 10 Madou otherwise.”
Meanwhile, the auction house itself was exploding with offers:
“Boss! Need a sidekick? I can cook, hunt, anything you need! I could even warm your bed!”
“Here’s what I know—rare mineral veins in the desert!”
Leo was about to block the flood of messages when he spotted a particularly interesting one.
“Hello, I have blueprints for trade.”
The user had also set anonymity, but Leo still decided to respond.
“What kind of blueprint is it? Details, please.”
“It’s a blueprint for fine steel armor. Once you learn it, you can build iron armor on your own.”
“Alright,” Leo replied, intrigued.
“How much meat do you want in exchange?”
“A thousand pounds.”
Leo thought it over. If the blueprint worked as promised, he could equip Sunny with armor, boosting his eagle’s defense.
The python had managed to injure Sunny with just one hit; armor would prevent similar scenarios in the future.
“A thousand pounds it is,” he agreed, setting up the trade.
The system interface changed, and in a flash, a silver-tinged piece of paper appeared before Leo.
______________
Fine Steel Armor Blueprint
Grade:E
Uses: 1
"Unlocks the secrets of crafting fine steel armor, providing decent durability and protection. One use only, so make it count!"
_______________
Leo immediately selected “Use.” Knowledge of armor crafting filled his mind, and the system menu updated with a new option: Craft.
Curious, Leo tapped it, and the menu displayed an image of a furnace and materials needed.
_______________

"A versatile furnace that can be set up wherever needed. Essential for crafting and smelting—gather materials and bring the heat!"

"This armor awaits your unique touch."

Leo’s mind raced with possibilities.
With this furnace, he could craft armor from scratch, making not only protective gear for Sunny but eventually for himself as well.
In a world filled with dangerous Madous, fine steel armor was a invaluable asset.
“Sunny, looks like we’re going to need to gather some resources.” Sunny responded with a soft screech, seemingly energized by his master’s confidence.
