With a deft touch, Lyra embellishes the map even more, yet her latest addition goes beyond the mere display of our own domain and its manifold facets. Instead, she unveils the territories lying to the west of the unknown seas, far beyond the borders of our nation. Indeed, with a flourish of her hand, Lyra reveals the uncharted territories that lie to the west of the vast and unexplored seas, stretching far beyond the borders of our nation and into the uncharted and mysterious corners of the world.
As we look at the holographic representation before us, what is immediately apparent are the vast and sprawling chains of mountains that appear to extend as far as the eye can see, stretching for what seems like an interminable distance. These magnificent geological formations are so colossal and grandiose that even the towering apex of Mount Everest would be put to shame in comparison, such is their staggering height and immensity.
"Oh, great ruler, cast your gaze upon the Frostpeak Mountains, a range whose lofty summits are affectionately dubbed by those who inhabit them. The name they bear is apt, for they soar to such heights that they are enveloped in a perpetual winter that never relinquishes its icy grip." Lyra said as she pointed at the never ending mountain ranges.
"I dare say that Magnus had ventured across those vast plains once, his curiosity piqued by the secrets that lay hidden within. As Your Majesty is well aware, dwarfs can sometimes become so consumed by their quest for innovative technology that they overlook the perils that may lie ahead. Magnus was no different; driven by the conviction that there were yet undiscovered wonders within his kin's domain, he braved the unknown, hoping to learn even more than he already knew." Draven commented.
"Oh yes, i remember it as if it were yesterday. I believe it was a few years after we were stranded into this new world, Magnus had thought that their might be hidden secrets amongst his fellow yet distinct race that occupy this world. Only to be let down by the level of their development."
"Hahaha, did he really believe that their will be people who surpasses our technological and magical innovations. Despite being hailed as the most intelligent among us, he exhibited such naivete in his thinking, much to our collective chagrin - although, of course, her Majesty's intellect reigns supreme."
As they recount Magnus' foolish antics, their words drip with disdain, detailing the absurdity of his actions. Magnus Ironhammer, one of my finest creations, stands diminutive in size but mirrors the stature of a human. Were he to find himself transported to my former world, devoid of fantasy races, he would merely be viewed as a bearded, brawny fellow.
In addition to the freedom of external customization, we were also granted the ability to tailor the inner workings of our characters, including their emotional makeup. Despite hailing from vastly different races, Lyra and Draven exhibited striking similarities, a testament to the power of customization. Ultimately, this personalization had no bearing on the outcome of the game, leading me to believe it was a worthwhile endeavor.
But now that i have been unexpectedly transported to this new realm alongside the avatars I labored over for countless hours, I cannot help but anticipate the consequences of my handiwork. After all, it was I who crafted Magnus in his current form, so it is unsurprising that his traits and behaviors mirror my own intentions. Yet, the prospect of encountering the other personalities I birthed fills me with a sense of dread that is hard to ignore.
Evangeline, my trusty maid, who had been standing near me, suddenly took notice of the nearly emptied cups that were displayed in front of us. Being the thoughtful and attentive person that she is, she realized that it was time for a refill, and that too with her magnificently brewed tea. Without a moment's hesitation, Evangeline walked over to the tea set, which was placed on a small table in the corner of the room, and began to prepare another batch of tea. As she carefully lifted the kettle off the heated table, the steam emanating from its spout filled the room with the fragrance of the tea leaves.
She picked up my cup first, and with a gentle smile, poured the hot liquid into it, filling it up to the brim. Evangeline then moved on to Lyra's cup, which was placed right next to mine, and repeated the same process with precision and care. Finally, she approached Draven's cup, which was situated on the other end of the table, and filled it up to the desired level.
"Sigh, continue"
"Your Majesty, as you command," Lyra replied, her voice laced with deference. With a few deft movements, she manipulated the map, zooming in to reveal a rugged range of mountains. And there, as if from a dream, emerged the silhouettes of creatures that could only be dragons. "Behold, your Majesty, the frost lesser dragons and their abodes," Lyra declared, her tone hushed with indifference. "Though we call them 'lesser', the inhabitants of that realm regard them as mighty high dragons. This demonstrates how weak they truly are."
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
"Wh-what? When you first spoke of the denizens of this world as feeble, I envisioned them as potential competitors to even our most illustrious commanders in the army. But what I have just witnessed falls short of that expectation." Needless to say, I was taken aback. In the game, one could dispatch a lesser dragon within mere days of gameplay, but a greater dragon presented a far more formidable challenge. Nevertheless, a lesser dragons power is closer to that of a wyvern than that of a high dragon.
Lyra humbly implored, "Your Majesty, we plead for your forgiveness. It appears we did not conveyed it with adequate clarity. The denizens of this realm are so primitive that they foolishly revere the weaker dragons as deities. We ourselves were astonished by the extent of their feeble might."
"No no no, no apology is necessary, for it appears that the error was mine to make," I remark, as I raise my hand to my forehead. "Please, do carry on. There are yet numerous places that I yearn to discover," I say with a gleam in my eye.
"Of course your Majesty," she speaks with a deferential bow. "Our journey now takes us towards the southern realm, where we have encountered a most intriguing discovery." With the utmost elegance and finesse, she extends her arm and delicately commands the advanced technological holographic display to shift its focus and effortlessly glide towards the southern direction, unveiling an expansive and immense region of land that lay below the device. The scene that unfolds is nothing short of breathtaking as the hologram reveals a panoramic and awe-inspiring view of the vast terrain.
As far as the eye can see, a lush and verdant forest stretches out in all directions, seemingly endless in its expanse. Towering trees of immense size rise up into the canopy, their branches reaching skyward and providing a home for countless species of birds and other arboreal creatures. Thick underbrush and tangled vines weave a dense tapestry beneath the canopy, hiding small animals and creating a labyrinth of shaded paths and clearings.
Amidst the towering trees, meandering rivers and streams cut through the forest, their babbling currents offering a refreshing respite from the heat of the day. The waterways carve out deep valleys and ravines, creating a varied and dramatic landscape that is both awe-inspiring and breathtakingly beautiful. The forest is teeming with life, from the smallest insects and birds to larger animals like deer and bear. The air is filled with the sound of their calls and cries, creating a symphony of natural music that echoes throughout the forest.
It is truly a wonder to behold, this ancient and vibrant forest. Its immense size and breathtaking beauty are sure to captivate the hearts and minds of all who venture into its verdant depths.
"Elves remain preoccupied with nature even in this new world." Draven gave his own comment.
"I see, elves. Now, what exactly did you find here that piqued your interest?" I asked, with a trace of curiosity.
With a graceful and deliberate gesture, Lyra, gracefully nods her head, causing her flowing white locks to cascade down her back like a shimmering waterfall. She shifts the hologram with a precise and practiced motion, revealing a previously hidden corner of the vast and verdant forest. Amidst the lush and verdant foliage, a hidden and mystical realm lies concealed from the prying eyes of humans, a realm inhabited by the elusive and enigmatic Elves. These elusive beings are known to dwell in abodes that are hidden from plain sight, nestled amongst the hills and trees, and only visible to those who possess the gift of Second Sight.
To the untrained observer, these dwellings might seem like nothing more than humble hills or ancient, twisted trees, unremarkable and easily overlooked amidst the vibrant and chaotic landscape of the forest. But to those blessed with the gift of Second Sight, the true nature of these dwellings is revealed as unmistakable homes of the fabled Fae. The dwellings of the Elves are imbued with an otherworldly beauty, constructed from materials that seem to have been drawn from the very fabric of the forest itself. They are adorned with intricate carvings and delicate filigree, and the air around them seems to shimmer with a magical energy that is both awe-inspiring and humbling.
"Your Majesty. Set your gaze upon this marvel and discover what has seized our attention," she proclaimed, deftly maneuvering the hologram to a corner of the Elves' abode - the grandest and most resplendent of them all.
The woman's desire for me to witness what lay beyond the exterior of the structure was not solely fixated on the physical dwelling itself, but rather the enigmatic enigmas that were kept within its walls. An Elven male, who undoubtedly held a position of leadership, seated atop his throne, completely immersed in the act of writing. Although his pointed ears, flowing tresses of blonde, and even his somewhat effeminate features failed to spark any sort of curiosity within me, what truly seized my attention was the palpable energy emanating from him. This energy was so distinct, and so familiar, that it felt as though I had encountered it before - though I couldn't quite place where or when.
"Without a doubt, Your Majesty, you have surely perceived the essence of this man - a physical fragility that belies an unwavering heroism," observed Draven, his words pausing momentarily before he continued. "As Your Majesty well knows, a hero's potential is boundless once they have unlocked their latent abilities. Elara embodies this very principle," Draven mentioned Elara as an example, "She is among those who have pledged themselves to your service, Your Majesty. Elara Blackthorne, the mightiest of all humans who stand loyal to you."
