The ancient times, 1900, a fierce war between the Qiya empire and the Yuehan empire. It brought devastation and destruction upon Earth. It was before that unavoidable war that there existed countless cultivators, not just humans, and all of different ranks and strengths.
Although the Qiya empire triumphed in the end, with all the imperial members deceased and cultivation techniques lost, was it truly a victory?
…
“Shi song, how much did you get again?
13/30? Haha, you only completed 2 out of 5 questions! Pay up!”, Ku hai mocked Shi song like always. Shi song was just one of Ku hai’s victims in Bei Guang sect school. (Literally Bei Guang highschool)
‘Dang it!’ Shi song cursed in his heart. He would always bet with Ku hai when it came to the examinations. He was always forced by Ku hai and the others to bet in their examinations even though he knew he would lose. Taking out 15 dollars, he sighed inwardly. That was half of his weekly allowance!.
Shi song continued to get bullied by Ku hai and his gang. Not only was he weak and his mind slow, his skin colour was also that of a light brown, an obvious difference from his white-skinned classmates! Furthermore, the school he is in is Bei Guang Sect school, one of the worst schools in the entire Qiya Empire.
There will definitely be bullies in these types of schools!
Shi song’s physique was extremely weak, resulting in him getting sick all the time. This led to him having no knowledge of the outside world as he was always kept at home, wasting his youth away. Shi song has been like this since he was born, so it wasn’t his fault.
…
In every class, Shi song tried his best to listen, but he never understood anything. Especially in Math and Chinese class, Shi song always had a blank look on his face.
“Class, who wants to solve this question? Alright, Shi Song, Come here.”
‘Are you picking om me? How do you think I know how to solve?’ Shi song thought in his heart.
“Ok”
Shi song stepped out to the front of the class.
‘5x cube divided by 28x square plus 23xy = 36x?’
Shi song stared blankly.

“Shi song what’s wrong? Can’t solve anything like always? Haha!” Ku hai’s voice ran out, mocking Shi song.
Shi song hated the subjects the school taught. It always followed the same order, making it even worse. First was technological studies which was the most important due to the extremely advanced world he lived in, followed by Arithmetic and lastly, historical culture studies.
Not only did Shi song not like the subjects, he also had a rather slow mind with almost no general knowledge despite his age of 13. These factors did not put Shi song in his teachers’ good side, allowing people like Ku Hai to bully him without teachers caring.
Arithmetic dragged on and when it finally ended, Shi song heaved a sigh of relief. However, it was now the historical culture studies, a subject he hated and dreaded the most. Partially because the teacher always picked on him.
“Urghhh” Shi song whined.
The door to the classroom opened. Instead of the usual teacher, an old amiable-looking man with an walked in, his head littered with white hair. He glanced once at Shi Song before his face into a slight smile. Looking away, he then started talking about the history of the Qiya empire.
What the amiable old man said immediately aroused Shi song’s attention.
“There used to be countless deities and gods, far stronger and wiser than humans these days. Despite the genetic modifications, we can never reach the same level of strength or even knowledge as them.”
“This is because genetic modifications only change us externally. The ancestors of Qiya empire used to use the so-called ‘Cultivation techniques’ to train their strength and broaden their knowledge.”
The amiable old man ranted on and on about the Qiya empire’s past, and with each passing minute, Shi song’s attention was more and more engaged. All of these facts fascinated Shi song, like how the ancestors of Qiya empire could fly throughout the entire planet. The strongest ones could even destroy a Cosmic star, the largest celestial universe body! Although Shi song did not pay much attention during his technological studies classes, he had learnt that there are many celestial universe bodies, with the celestial universe body the Qiya empire is located on the 3rd biggest, called the Dark horizons, as this is the largest size a rotating celestial universe body can get, with day and night in cycle!
However, the next thing the amiable old man stated immediately
“There are many remnants of the war between the Qiya empire and Yuehan empire left in the modern world, with the most recently discovered battleground on Silversnow mountain. These remnants are extremely dangerous, with a 99.99% mortality rate, which is why there has not been much progress in uncovering the true secrets of the Qiya empire.”
“In the centre of Silversnow mountain is a valley that leads straight to the battleground. Due to the thousands of years that have past since the war, a layer of earth has formed over the battleground, with the valley the only entrance. Perhaps we could have learnt some secrets if the explorers who went down did not disappear without a trace.”
The amiable old man continued on and on, until he finally ended, saying, “It doesn’t matter how much you can control and change time. As long as your perception of time changes, you can achieve a lot more.”
That was when the bell rang and the 3-hour session for historical culture studies ended and the students were already ready to go back to their homes.
