Since I was born into this world, I've always been athletic. Part of it is because I promised myself that if I had a second chance at life, I would make the best of it. I don't want to feel restrained by my body like in the past. I'm tired of having a weak constitution.
I was born into the Gorseith nobility, so financial constraints are not a problem for my family. I've consumed enough meat to build my body, and I also train with a professional fighter every day. My efforts have paid off, as I am physically stronger than the average mage, but dumber, to the point where I almost got disowned by my parents. My dream is to become an adventurer, exploring the unknown and discovering things I haven't seen before. My first dungeon is the Roots of Akasha, where rumors state that the gods once occupied until they lost interest in humanity.
"[Stinging Butterfly: First Form]!" the girl wielding a rapier thrust her sword in rapid succession, a barrage of mana traces barely visible. However, it didn't hit me; I had already moved away before she could invoke it.
"How the hell can she move like that? She's like a beast!" the man wielding a crossbow complained. I should be the one complaining because my body hurt so much. My shoulder has a huge cut, and it continues to squirt blood. If this continues, I think... I'm not going to make it.
"Don't worry; she's already weakened," the girl stated, and it's true. My vision continues to grow blur as my body weakens. "I just don't understand why Snake is interested in you," the girl pointed her blade at me.
The girl dashed towards my right while the guy went to my left. He shot several arrows, and I forced myself to evade while minding my back against the woman. I started chanting in haste as the two approached. "Swirling upon the moist of hollow, frost the wind and pierce through any flesh and shadows," directing my mana to both my hands, which I pointed at the two. I invoked two consecutive spells at the same time. "[Snipe: Ice Crystal]!" Sharp shards of ice formed at my palms and shot out like bullets. The spell projectiles passed through their bodies, putting a hole in the man's chest and the other stuck into her head, but they didn't die! They continued to move like nothing even happened!
As they attacked me, I leaped away, but the man shot an arrow that targeted my head. I blocked the projectile with my arm, and it thrust into it like a blade.
"Haahh... huff..." I tried catching my breath as I landed, but the rapier wielder didn't let me breathe. She continued to attack me, continuously forcing me to evade them. She's going to kill me, so I squeezed my hand tightly while stimulating my mana in that part. Then I invoked a spell I shouldn't have meant to use.
"[Wind Blast]!" I flailed my hand, and a great force of wind hurled my opponent away. This allowed me to breathe for a moment, but in exchange, my mana overloaded my body. My left eye suddenly bled out, and I felt my eyeballs really hot; they were burning in pain! It hurt... it felt like it was just going to explode, only to be halted at the last seconds... This is what I get for using higher-tier magic without a staff.
Due to the pain, I suddenly kneeled as I covered my left eye. I felt someone else's presence... is it the snake-eyed man? Did Sempai lose? What should I do now?
"What the hell is going on here?" A bulky blue-skinned man appeared beside me. It's a Homorotabi, though it's the first time I've seen a Homorotabi this bulky. "Humans? It's been a while since I've seen one."
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
I took my time to breathe. The two didn't make a move, but they seemed to become more tense after they saw the Homorotabi... Just who the hell is he? Homorotabis are not fighters, as far as I remember.
He and I met eye to eye, and his eyes became wider, and he became somewhat pale as he saw me... Why? Is my injury that bad? "Y-you are..." Why is he sweating so hard?
Then he looked back at the two, avoiding my gaze, "Two against one? That's unfair, wasn't it?" still, he can't mask how shaky his voice was.
"Let's run away..." the rapier wielder said, and she turned her back to run. It was a mistake to turn her back, but it's too late for her to do anything as the Homorotabi is now behind her.
He's ridiculously fast!
"You think I would let you?" a bright light covered his fist, and he used it to punch the woman's head, and she was hurled violently several meters away. Yellowish pungent gel splattered on the snow.
In shock, the crossbow wielder stared in silence... even I was astounded how far the girl was thrown. After she crashed, the man furiously pointed his crossbow and shouted in anger, "Regulia!"
"Slow!"
The Homorotabi punched the crossbow user, and he met the same fate as the woman.
... ... ...
It's already finished? I survived?
The Homorotabi picked up something from his pocket and from there, he gave me a green bottle of liquid. A healing potion! "T-Thank you!"
Huh? Why is he looking at me like he wanted to say something? Do I know him? I swear to god, I never saw a Homorotabi as big as he is, so it's impossible. His hands are also shaking; is it an aftereffect of his skill?
"H-Hey," I tried to say something when suddenly, he ran away. "Eh? Why are you running away? I just want to thank..." he disappeared... That was so awkward; is he shy? That would be a waste since he is really fast and strong. He's an ideal hero figure.
I gulped the healing bottle of water, which caused my wounds to stop bleeding. After my head became clearer, I just remembered something important... "I forgot! Sempai is..."
...
Without a body or a weapon, I am defenseless. What could a fucking head do? However, I am saved. As Snake approached with an attempt to sterilize my brain, a sword slashed his body, cutting him diagonally in half.
"Shit... How are you even alive!? Hannathema!" Snake screamed as he saw who did this to him.
Though the demon in question is completely drunk to even take his rage seriously... "Burp... Who the fuck are you again?" she said while chugging a bottle of alcohol.
Snake's cut body formed small legs on its own and ran away. "[Viper]!" he screamed, and a large snake swallowed him. The demon slashed through the air, cutting nothing; however, I soon noticed a moving slit through the wind in which the snake evaded. The snake disappeared immediately afterward.
"I missed... Burp"
The demon walks in front of me and forced my mouth a bottle of alcohol... not, this is not alcohol... not a healing potion either, but suddenly, my holed throat closed, making me able to speak again.
"You! Why are you here!?" I said.
"I'm saving your life, goddamn it! Be grateful!" her heavy metallic hand hammered my head, "Now, we're even. The next time we'll meet... Burp..."
She stared at me with a piercing gaze... "I'll kill you."
"Huh? Why!?" I asked, but I probably already knew why. She didn't save me coincidentally; she's been observing me all this time. And her threat, it's possibly because she now knows I am infected.
"SEEEMMMPAIII! Are you still alive!?" Fielma... It's Fielma! She's still alive! Thank goodness.
"On a second thought, I will let you live if you kill that girl," as Hannathema said that, my mind freezes.
What...?
"What? You're a goblin, right? This will be easy for you." Hannathema smirked, revealing her shark-like teeth. She walks away swaying with her uncoordinated feet. But why? Why would I ever kill that girl? I could never kill an innocent person.
That's what I thought to myself, but I don't know. Fielma appeared in front of me, and the first thing I thought as I saw her smile was fuck... I wouldn't even feel anything if she died in front of me now. I might kill her for my survival at this rate...
Hold yourself together, Theo... You're not a monster
