Aaron walked the thin trail with the donkey's bridle in hand. It's been several days of uneventful traveling as they climbed the mountain. It's going to take a while because of the trail and the steepness of the mountain. with pine trees and rocks gravel but not the trail it looked almost man made. The stone was too smooth.
“Were almost there just a few more days” William said out of breath and breathing heavily. It's really happening soon the gods will be restored and I will be one of them. He slowed the hike to make it easier for William. Lighting was heard not far off then thunder that's odd the sky is clear Aaron thought looking up
“thunderbirds!” Omari screeched there was a small cave about fifty feet away they made our way to it with the speed which felt like a crawl Omari flu their and made himself at home as two bright birds with thirty foot wingspans came into view their
Feathers were a dark bluish gray and lightning came out of their beaks striking the cliffside. Then behind them with such light blue feathers it was almost white with a fifty foot wingspan and engaged the thunderbirds
“a roc” William said in wonder, pulling their donkey into the cave with William right behind him as the two birds clashed, then hundreds of birds took flight to get out of the way. but they were more humanoid. avians Aaron realized the cave was about ten feet in the cliff side Aaron never felt more helpless than now and afraid as the birds clashed the roc summoned a whirlwind from a flap of it’s mighty wings. Aaron had to hang on the cave wall to not get blown into the back as the thunderbirds shot lightning at the roc which did little damage from what he could tell. Then they flew out of sight. He stood there shocked as to what just happened. William dropped to the floor and our donkey was pushed back and Omari was right next to the donkey
“Is it safe?” Aaron asked no one in particular
“no but we need to move nonetheless,” Omari said, taking flight out of the cave. William and Aaron hugged the wall as much as possible as they made their way out. hopefully not get blown off the mountain by the roc in case it came back they would hug the wall and cling to life. They traveled for hours with the occasional sighting of the roc or thunderbird but they were too small to gain its attention. I hope they keep fighting away from us so we can be unnoticed. they must have gone hunting when nightfall came they were cold sore and afraid we might not make it. Aaron thought as they made it to a plateau William build a fire but since Aaron could barely get any firewood due to the steepness of the mountain it was small after eating dinner of their supplies it was a cold dinner for the fire was to small and they didn’t have anything to cook with for that matter

“Tell me about Aeris” Aaron asked William not to say anything for a while he looked lost in thought and Omari was out hunting right now so he couldn't ask him at last William spoke.
“She was very close to your father, his right hand; she built cities in the sky for the avians. They are a proud people. She was one of the big five. The same five who created the basic world. Even more important were the big three: your father the goddess of spirits and the god of the underworld. I tell you this is how important the big five and big three were”
“What does this have to do with the goddess of air?”
“I don’t know what to tell you I don’t know much about her and what I did know was forgotten when I lost my magic and I became a knight but I forgot some of the things of the gods” William said bitterly “we should sleep” William said with that he unfolded his blanket and went to bed I hope Omari knows more, for how could I be the god of air if I don’t know what a god of air does. Aaron stared into the flames as they went out for an hour thinking, before going to bed.
In the morning Aaron ate breakfast and packed up. his things before William woke up. When William woke up he looked surprised to see Aaron up as he ate breakfast. Then they continued up the mountain. After hours of walking Aaron stopped and took a break so William could catch his breath. He stood near the edge overlooking the forest. The grass was starting to look green as spring was almost here. they continued walking up the path looking out into the forest with no sign of civilization. Walking was slow due to the steepness of the trail. hiking up with nothing of note besides mountain goats which were a sight to behold they climbed up the steep cliffs and made it look easy as he watched them. When a rock fell and he fell off the trail in a panic using skylight to levitate
“Aaron!” William screamed looking at the bottom of the mountain with nothing underneath him made his stomach queasy then levitated back to William
“I’m never doing that again” Aaron vowed
“Why would you do that in the first place? You could have died” William scolded
“I didn't mean to, I was watching the goats and fell,” Aaron said embarrassed. William grunted and handed him the rains to their donkey then walked in front with that they walked until nightfall.
Two days later with no further incident Aaron levitated off the trail by William and on the over side Omari
“interesting” Omari exclaimed
“what?” Aaron asked, still nervous about the whole thing
“Your levitating doesn't change your height once you fix on a height you can go anywhere as long as you have room” levitating back so he could gain more height because the trail will soon be taller than him.
After a day later is it just me or is it a little harder to breathe. Aaron thought his legs were burning as did his lungs. “We will reach the top in about an hour,” William huffed, sounding like an eighty year old man. the bowl shaped top of the mountain just a little farther. I have no idea what the power even looks like. It could be a massive lake of power. I have to soak up in it. or Finally when they reached the top and looked just below them Aaron gasped.
